My family - 2 adults, 6 year old and 2 year old - stayed for one night in the Glastonbury Family room. Doug was very welcoming and had good information about the local area. It was interesting to read about the recycled buildings and flooring that were used to build the guest house ||||The retreat was just as we expected...and more. The cleanliness of the room, kitchen, shared living area and even the shower and toilets was excellent (considering they are away from the main building and partially outdoors). The kitchen facilities were great and I loved that there was tea and coffee provided. Our bed was sooo comfortable too!||||We managed a quick walk down to the creek in the morning and were lucky enough to see a wallaby, bush turkeys and a platypus, which Doug had told us might happen. ||||It was a quiet time at the retreat with not many guests, so it was perfect for a family with young kids. We would definitely stay again!

A clean, comfortable and well run Backpackers. The facilities are excellent, the kitchen is well stocked and has enough tea and coffee for everyone as well as allowing for some serious cookery. The bathrooms and showers, although not attached to the dorms, are hands down the cleanest I've seen in a backpackers, bar none. Would recommend if you're in the area. Cheap, clean and comfy.

Doug, the host, is a very nice guy and really made our stay joyful. The rooms and shared facilities are a bit old, but clean. The location is very beautiful, but it's very dark at night and you definitely need a torch if you need to walk to the bathrooms. It's in a walking distance to the town. Some guests might be noisy at night. You can expect seeing a python on the paths and bandicoots in rooms, it's a bush retreat in the end!

This hostel/retreat was just amazing! The host Dough was really friendly and helpful. I met so many nice people and the guest house was clean and tidy with comfy beds. If you are looking for a place to feel at home with a chill, relaxed atmosphere - this is it! I was recommended by a friend to go there and I definitely don't regret it. Thanks once again!

The location is beautiful, the scenery is amazing, facilities are good. We stayed in a standard double room which was right in the middle of the main block, There was a lot of noise and activity most of the night, as would be expected at a backpacker-style property. Very relaxed vibes and great place to chill out at. Had a great time

We want to thank Doug for his kindness, warmth and hospitality whilst staying at Rainbow Retreat in Nimbin. The place is absolutely gorgeous and well maintained. Toilets and showers are cleaned daily. They are basic and do the job as it should. It is actually the best kept ammenities we have seen at a camp site. We camped here for several nights, and we are sad to leave here tomorrow, as its been peaceful. No interruptions, no alcoholics or loud music. Just peace, nature and the beautiful animals. You can use the wifi and sit back and enjoy the serenity if you wish. There is an area to wash your clothes by hand in the big tubs and a kitchen for campers to wash up and charge their devices. Doug, thank you for welcoming us with open arms and with a genuine smile. We will be back really soon! We also hope your beautiful avocado tree recovers and survives this Aussie summer. It's a great place. Owner very friendly. I stayed in my van, but my gfs got the 8 bed cabin, which is ok. The walls and roof aren't connected so when the storm hit, it was like being in a wind tunnel. Mosquitoes and ticks so take precaution. Great kitchen area with tables and chairs. Wouldn't want to stay in the attached rooms if a rowdy group like us were sharing it. Be prepared for lots of smokers!
