Rainbows Ceramics Painting Studio. York, UK.

Came with a hen party, the service was amazing and the options were more varied that some other pottery painting places I’ve been. I loved the paint pens which made doing detail so much easier. We had a great time.

Myself and my partner were in the area visiting so popped into the studio on the walk back to our hotel. The staff were lovely and welcoming and sat us down straight away and explained the process. There were lots of items to choose from to paint and also a large selection of colours too! We thoroughly enjoyed our time there, we weren’t rushed or anything. Due to us not living in the area we were offered to have our pottery posted for a small fee, this arrived today and I can only say they turned out perfect! Well packed and protected for their travels in the post and arrived super quick too. We shall surely be revisiting when we are back in the area, thank you.

We've been visiting Rainbows during the school holidays since my daughter was around 4 years old and she's now 13! We visit family in York every holidays and a trip to Rainbows is always a must. We love it and have built up quite a collection of all the items we've painted over the years. It is so relaxing whilst being fun. We usually spend around 3-4 hours having a nice relaxing time painting with my daughter and sometimes her cousins. It's a lovely day out, yes it can be pricey if you have more than one child but it is something different to the normal holiday activities and your child has something at the end to remind them of the fun that they have had. There are useful items to paint (not just ornaments) such as money boxes, tealight holders, plant pots, plates and cups etc so your not just ending up with items to 'dust' at the end. The staff are lovely and helpful, it always has a relaxing atmosphere, you are not rushed and can stay as long as it takes to paint your items. Love it x

Set a couple of hours aside for a peaceful enjoyable experience. Every year the kids are excited when we visit Rainbow Ceramics because they enjoy painting new things for their rooms. The anticipation of waiting a week to get them back after being fired in the kiln is equally exciting. It’s amazing to see how vibrant the colours are when they’re glazed. Don’t think Rainbow is just for kids - it’s not. A great place to make something bespoke for the home, many adults frequent the shop to build a collection. It’s not cheap, but for what you get it’s well worth it. Just remember that you have to wait a week for the end product. Not staying in York? - they’ll post it for you (at your cost).

Had a fantastic time with two friends, were allowed to stay for however long we needed. Was walk in only but we got there for opening on Sunday and got a table. Lots of pots to choose from and lovely staff! Will return !

Great afternoon painting. Great activity on a rainy day. Staff are excellent, particularly with children. Even though they were very busy you never felt rushed. Good price. You get to pick from a large range of items to paint and then can pick it up in 1 week. Highly recommend.

Had the best time here at their adult night a few weeks ago. There's a huge range of items available to paint, it was hard to choose! The staff were friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable, & even helped me with some painting questions. Our ceramics turned out so well & we'll definitely be back! I've visited here a few times now and always have so much fun! It's one of my favourite rainy day activities in york. I'm currently pregnant and can't wait to come back in the future with my little one to make some hand and foot print designs. Highly recommend.
