Was kinda upset because this is one of my favorite restaurants. It was super crowded, and once we got seated it felt rushed and I was sat at table right at the entrance away from all the cool animals and fish. I didn’t get to see or experience much of anything. Didn’t get the experience I wanted. But the food was great and the gift shop and water ride was great! Not to bad on price either. Hoping when I get to come back it’ll be a better experience!

Google
Amazing experience!! Food is on the higher priced end, but ultimately you pay for the decor and theme. I got the fish tacos and honestly were very impressed. The potion was huge and I felt like the value was there for it. Really loved going here as a special occasion. Also, this is the only rainforest cafe with a ride! Well worth the money.

Went here on a Sunday afternoon . Be prepared for long wait times if you don't have a reservation ( we had to wait for almost an hour) which wasn't too bad because it's right next to the beach and there's a decent amount of exploring you can do onsite. Now once we got seated, the service was quite quick. I got the rainbow colada and the burger. The portion sizes are decent for the price and the food tasted good. Definitely recommend trying just for the ambience !

Hands down, some of the best food I’ve had recently! Highly recommended for food enthusiasts!” I'd want to thank MAURICIO for going above and beyond to ensure that our dinner experience was exceptional. his sincere welcome and excellent service made all the difference." "Our server, MAURICIO was just fantastic. his understood the cuisine, made excellent suggestions, and valued guest comments.

Google
hours, so we ended up sitting at the bar — which was frustrating at first, but understandable given it’s peak tourist season. That said, the food and drinks were actually really solid. I had a great time overall. Service at the bar was a little slow, but it was clear the bartenders were doing everything they could with the crowd they had. The atmosphere is fun and immersive as always — a good place to kick back and enjoy the vibe once you get settled. Would definitely come again, but probably with a reservation next time!

We loved the atmosphere and vibes in the rainforest cafe! We tried the adventure ride as well and were very impressed. The ride is $10 per adult and we did it expect it to be short; however, it was quite a bit longer than we expected. The ride is worth the extra charge, kids loved it and adults were surprised with the quality. We got cute cups and enjoyed our food. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Came in with my kiddos today and the gift shop and store to walk through was amazing while we waited for our table. We also road the adventure boat through the jungle and had a blast. The problem came when we came because our name was called, a customer walks in front of us without saying excuse me and demands the host to acknowledge her. Now the the host helped her and asked me to wait although they were already in the midst of helping me. (Not to big of a deal). The food was delightful I forgot to take pictures. The portions are perfect size adults and kids. I waited 30 minutes til a waiter came and actually served us (he was passing our table and helping others being pregnant with 2 little ones I was little over it but I remained patient. This was the service all night I made sure to ask for everything at one time so that it wouldn’t be a long wait. We finish eating getting our check after another 25 minutes waiting (still see waiter floating around assisting people after me asking for the check). After paying as I’m walking out with my kiddos the waiter ran us down and asked if it was a problem with the service because he wasn’t happy with the tip. I expressed to him what my concerns were but he walked off with an attitude.. now normally that would make me not wanna go back however everything else during this experience and outing was amazing and I think next time I’ll just ask for a different waiter.

This is by far the best rain forest café I have visited. The food was amazing and served in a timely manner. The restaurant is large and we were seated immediately which is uncommon for these restaurants. Our server Juliana was courteous and professional. She made sure we were always attended to. We also had the chance to get on their ride which is on par with some theme park rides. A great experience all around and we can't wait to go back. We tried their shrimp, some pastas, and salads. Amazing experience all around!!

Yelp
First, I would recommend making a reservation , especially if you have a party of more than four. It just makes the check in and waiting process much less stressful. As for the food, the quality at this location was AMAZING. Their Rainforest Burger is a classic and has never failed me personally. Would also highly recommend the spinach artichoke dip and their cheese curds from the "Awesome Appetizer". We went for dinner last night and again for lunch today because the food was just excellent and the experience is like nowhere else. Several drinks have free collectible cups you can collect after you dine by asking the bar and showing them the specific drinks on your receipt. The menu details which drinks come with these "souvenir glasses." This location has the River Ride which is super cool and exciting! There's tons of full scale animatronic animals throughout a pretty relaxed lazy river type ride. The ride lasts 10-15 minutes max, but so worth it! There is also a full service build-a-bear workshop location inside the gift-shop which is super fun and has all rainforest themed build-a-bears plus some non-rainforest-themed plush animals to choose from. The build-a-bear accessories and clothes have just about the same variety of options to choose from as a medium sized retail location like in a mall for example. Shoutout to Justin the Photographer. He was enthusiastic and helped bring that enthusiastic to energy everyone there when we went both times.

Yelp
I made a reservation here for 6:30pm as my son and I were staying a day in Galveston prior to leaving for a cruise. I learned of the cafe through IG and looked so cool - I gotta admit I was sorta nervous as the reviews aren't too great but we had a fantastic experience! It was also only a 20 min walk from our airbnb and I needed exercise. We were seated promptly at our time, the tables are spacious/roomy and our waiter Tony was THE best - gave a lot of history and suggestions for the area. The decor is really cool and detailed - we walked around to see it all. They have an artist to draw your photo, a shop and so much extra - we did dinner and the ride (they say it's the only rainforest cafe with a ride). I had the local Galveston wheat beer (forget the name - similar to blue moon yummy) and coconut shrimp (delicious - ask for the jalapeño sauce for the rice helps add flavor). My son had a chicken sandwich and fries (I forget name of sandwich but he loved it). The ride was a lot of fun (9.99/pp) and longer than I expected it to be - definitely recommend, nice touch.

Yelp
Extremely busy place since it's the only Rainforest Cafe in Houston now and it is the only one with a "water" ride. They don't take cash in the gift shop to pay for the ride or any souvenirs but they take cash inside the restaurant. Hmm.. ok. We went to the host stand to get our table and she told me it was going to be a 45 min to an hour wait. Ok. Then I showed her my Landry's member card & she sarcastically told me "that's going to earn you 20 minutes off your wait time" and I was like okay thanks hun. She was not a very inviting host. On to the food/waiter/restaurant... it was mid. They have people coming around bothering you with a picture (extra charge) and then a balloon guy (optional tip) and then a face painter (another extra charge/extra tip). Like come on, this is too overwhelming. We're trying to eat and enjoy the ambiance of this rainforest cafe and you have so many people walking around trying to get more business. Our first server took our drinks and was a rude. She definitely did not want to be there. Our second server was pleasant and he continued to be our server for the rest of the experience. Thank goodness. Drinks were super sweet. The coconut shrimp had too much coconut and my steak was not medium-medium rare. We paid $45 for this ride for 4 people and they don't even check the tickets. We could've just rode the ride for free. It was cute though but the place looked really old and ready for a remodel.

Yelp
My family had a great experience at Rainforest for Sunday breakfast. This location is by far the best one I've been to. Service was great. The food was excellent! Cha Cha was walking around visiting all the tables with kids. The store was huge and the rainforest ride was cool. Definitely going back!

Yelp
Made a reservation...highly recommended for a weekend day. We still waited 15 minutes just fyi. Service was great, waiter was good, patient, made some suggestions. Food was okay, ordered the fish tacos, fish was hot, had good flavor, was served on a corn tortilla (was cold) and had a slaw lettuce mixed with a jalapeno sauce...was good not too spicy. Served with Jasmine rice and black beans...both were pretty salty but served hot. Meal seemed somewhat disconjointed. Cheese pizza just didn't look cooked all the way through...served with just a few fries tasted warmed up. I just feel for the prices, and with the fun interactive ambiance the customers Rainforest attracts not to mention the kids...can we do better with a pretty basic kids meal? Atmosphere was fun, great service...kiddo always loves the experience...but the food, potential to do way better!

Yelp
We were in Galveston to drop off family at the cruise port and decided to stop by the Rainforest Cafe for lunch. There was no wait on a Saturday for our party of 4 even though most tables were filled. Our server was very friendly and attentive. The restaurant has its charm, with the sounds of a jungle and various animal figurines. I enjoyed the fun thunderstorm imitation! I ordered fish tacos, my husband got the primal steak. I thought the fish tacos tasted good, I like the sauce and the seasoning on the fish. There was definitely a lot more cole slaw than fish in the taco. The portion was quite large, I was full after eating just 2 tacos. I tried a couple pieces of steak - it was delicious! Very tender and well seasoned. The tables were placed pretty close together, making it hard to navigate, but not a really big deal.

Yelp
I'm not the biggest fan of Rainforest Cafe! It feels too touristy for me. I don't like being asked about face painting while I'm eating. Great place for kids but for the price vs the food you get it's not worth it. It also takes a long time to get the food so don't be in a hurry.

Yelp
Cute little spot, we had an amazing time! Love the decor all around the shop, to include the inviting waterfalls, the food was good, we tried the sampler, service was fast and friendly!
google avatar

Yelp
What a cute place! The kids loved all the animals moving and making noises. I didn't love all the people coming to the table offering us extras. But I think I was just tired, sunburnt and cranky. Lol. Our server was so nice. Food was delicious.

Yelp
This was our family's first time eating at Rainforest Cafe in Galveston and it was an amazing experience. My husband and I thought we made a huge mistake in the beginning with bringing our 2 yr old and 3 yr old because they were fussy, but our waitress Yamile was very patient and so helpful. She offered to get the kids their meals first so they could eat. The manager, Carmen, was the sweetest!! She checked in and we got to talking about how it was our first time there and she asked how the kids were. My son loved the fish aquarium and daughter was so happy to see the gorillas and elephants. We ordered the pepperoni pizza and Alfredo python pasta for the kids, they quietly ate so it must have been delicious. I ordered the Beef Lava nachos, which were delicious. They were loaded with peppers, onions, black beans, and had the best cheese combination. The chips were thin which made for the perfect crunch. My husband got the Southern Cross Lasagna, it was something newer on the menu. He normally isn't a lasagna eater but told me the picture on the menu sold him and he loved it. Towards the end of the meal Carmen came over and handed us our ticket where she had written for 4 passes for the river ride to go to, it was so unexpected and so sweet, I definitely shed some tears from her kind gesture. She really is an amazing woman and cares a lot about the cafe. I highly recommend going for the experience, we will definitely be coming back again when we vacation here.

Yelp
The service was awesome, waiter was very attentive. He tended to our needs properly and answer any questions we had. The atmosphere was wonderful, felt like I was in a real rain forest. The food didn't taste the best, but I guess you pay for the experience.

Yelp
Yeeeeeehawwwwww!!!! I just came for the ride because this restaurant has this unique experience that you can only have in Galveston, TX! A great ride for the family and even the littlest croutons! I enjoyed my experience and the staff were excellent! Very clean environment! I will be back!

Yelp
When you walk in, you definitely feel like you're in the rainforest. The elephants and chimpanzees are moving periodically. The ambiance is superb. Every 30 mins there is a thunderstorm. Food was amazing. The chef came out to meet my colleague who had a food allergy. He wanted to make sure she didn't order anything that would cause a reaction. Great experience.

Yelp
Hands down the best thing in Galveston lol - ever since the YouTube video of the 2 guys who roadtripped and ate at every single Rainforest cafe, I've wanted to come to this one. Badly. Why? Bc there's a flipping RIDE inside a restaurant. Like an amusement park quality ride! The service is decent, the food is okay. But really, you're coming here for all the magic that is the Rainforest Cafe: thunderstorms, waterfalls, the glorious fish, monkeys - and the wandering Cha Cha , balloon guy and face painter. This Rainforest Cafe even has a dude inside the store doing caricatures! After our afternoon wandering around Galveston I have to say this is the top thing to do here. If you have nostalgia for a Rainforest Cafe, this is the best one!

Yelp
Had such a fun time here. I have been to rainforest cafe before but not at this location. This location has more going on. It has an adventure lazy river ride which was pretty cool, face painting, balloon artist and a gift shop. The food is good and even though it was packed our food came out in under 15 mins great service!

Yelp
Intriguing setting that is delightful for all ages. Great array of drinks of all types, seafood and other specialty items cooked and served with perfection. Upbeat and attentive staff. Entertainment everywhere you look from a forrest jungle ride with animatronic animals on par with Disney that lasts about 20 minutes and has lots of surprises but nothing scary. Build a Bear workshop is fun for all and the best memory you can take away to recall your day in Galveston.

Yelp
This place is definitely an experience because of the ambience and fun activities for kids. But with that being said, it's pricey and has small food portions. I got a bowl of chicken Alfredo pasta for $25.99 and it was pretty bland and the grilled chicken they put on top was cold. The fajitas were not great either, and we actually had to wait about 10 minutes before they brought the rest of the food out which was the plate of rice & beans and tortillas that came with those fajitas. My table was five adults in total, we all agreed that this is more of an experience restaurant rather then a good food spot. If you got kids I'm sure it'd be a hit for you, but if you're looking for good food it's not going to be this place.

Yelp
Although we had to wait one hour and 15 minutes to be seated, it was definitely worth it! We ended up spending some of our time of the wait doing the boat ride. It is definitely worth the money for the ride, especially when your kids get really excited and happy to see what's inside! We were seated and our waiter came out and quickly took our order and while waiting for the food to come out, the frog came walking around to the tables greeting the kids. He came and gave my three year-old a hug which was the sweetest thing because it definitely made his night! There was also a face painter who was walking around who painted my three littles faces in the animal of their choice. My three-year-old is very picky and rarely eats anything we order from a restaurant for him, but he devoured the cheese pizza. My entire family enjoyed the atmosphere, the food and service we experienced that night! We also had to try the volcano we saw everyone getting delivered to their tables. It was scrumptious and chocolatey! Definitely a must try if you go there. I do have to add that I ordered the ribs. They weren't the best, but they also weren't the worst. If you had to choose between the ribs and something else from their menu, I would suggest you pick the other choice and skip the ribs.

Yelp
Much better than our previous time a few years ago. I got the fish and chips and my wife got the shrimp tacos. The fish were huge the pictures make it look small but they were a good 8-10 inches. While they had a lot of red cabbage my wife enjoyed her tacos. All the food was very good. Kimberly was an amazing waitress! My nephew didn't like the animals and was scared of them. She asked to move us to a different table away from the animals and made my nephew much happier. The food was correct, she paid attention to our drinks and being willing to move to another table was the cherry on top! Of course the restaurant was so cool with the atmosphere. We'll be back next time we're around.

Yelp
The food was good although not many options that seemed appetizing. However, when our came out it was really good. The coconut shrimp was the best! Our waitress was amazing and the manager was walking around making sure everything was good. Estimated wait time was 50 minutes but we were called within 30 minutes. In the meanwhile we rode the adventure ride which was pretty cool. The restaurant has a show every 30 minutes where the animals move and make noises. Pretty awesome for kids!

Yelp
I wasn't expecting much from a chain full of props in Galveston, but Rainforest Cafe really surprised me! We came on a Sunday during Labor Day weekend, around 12:15 and there was a 40 minute wait. Note that you can call ahead and reserve before you leave the beach! Located conveniently on the seawall, this was on the way headed back to 45, so that was nice. Upon entrance, you're greeted with the Rainforest Cafe shop. Beware if you have kids, they will want something. There is an indoor river ride for $10 per person (kids 2 and under ride free) that uses animatronic animals as you float along in a little boat. My son thought it might be a bit scary so we opted to not ride it. There is also a guy doing caricatures and he was really good, albeit pricey - our family of 4 would have been $50 for black and white. The wait ended up being only 30 minutes and once seated, we were greeted immediately. We ordered the Awesome Appetizer Adventure ($23.99) which comes with chimi-cha-chas, spinach and artichoke dip, mozzarella sticks and chicken strips. This was LARGE. We had 3 adults and 3 kids and it was more than enough of an appetizer for us. It could be two meals. I ordered the Rasta Pasta, which had a pesto Alfredo sauce with bell peppers, broccoli, spinach and chicken. It was really good and also quite large! The ambiance is exactly as pictured - a dark interior with statues of the forest animals everywhere. The frog mascot came around every so often and took pictures with kids. Overall, a fun place to do once for novelty when you're in Galveston!

Yelp
Food and service were decent but we were sat right next to a fish tank and all the Blue Tangs had Head and Lateral Line Erosion Disease (HLLE) which only affects fish that are inadequately cared for, and does not occur in the wild. Because it doesn't happen in the wild, there has been little research, and there is no cure. Killed the vibe.
google avatar

Jasmine L.

Yelp
Had dinner on a weekday and it was not too busy. It is loud with the rainforest and animal sound effects, but still able to hear the conversations at the table. Ordered the Rumble In The Jungle Turkey Wrap, which came with a choice of side. It was pretty overpriced for just a wrap though. Our food also took a while to come out even though it wasn't very busy. The service was not the best

Yelp
Ate here before and came back again because our daughters girlfriend had never been here before the food is delicious. I'm surprised the rating is so bad lol. This place is about as tourist trap as it gets which you should expect anything along the lines of a Hard Rock Cafe, etc., but make no doubt about it. The service is really cool and the ambience is really neat with the fish tanks and the animal animatronics just know that you will not be able to purchase a plate below $20, so come prepare to spend some money if you show up here I do recommend the river ride as long as it stays at $10. It's not a bad deal give this place a shot if you want something different or never been.

Yelp
Korean chicken appetizer was super Spicy! The soup of the day tomato basil was very creamy but also quite spicy but delicious. The steak was well Done and zucchini was Al dente. The pasta/chicken & sausage dish was huge. Fun atmosphere, friendly waiter/expensive food but expected for a vacation!

Yelp
1 star. Decent ambiance, everyone seemed overly rushed. Even the balloon guy and the photographer. They were there right when we were getting our food. I took my family of 6, and I regret it. Overpriced, and rushed experience. I think I possibly could have had better food had we eaten anywhere else. Ordering dairy and gluten free from their menu was a nightmare. I appreciated the gluten-free menu, but the reality is that the food is the most mid experience you can imagine. They should also mark which recipes have no dairy. Had to have the chef come out, which I appreciated. I had to send back 2 overdone steaks and my son's stale taco tortillas. Once we had our new steaks, the doneness was appropriate, but they were too tough. Those cows were probably too stressed when they were butchered, which could indicate inhumane practices with their beef suppliers. Also, the grilled shrimp were mushy near the tails. Yuck! I've worked in restaurant kitchens and know this can be caused by thawing and refreezing one too many times. The service was great. The waitstaff helped a lot with the ordering process, even after we made changes to one of our plates. But I felt bombarded by the independent people hawking their wares. the balloon guy was good, but the photographer's pictures where blurry and too low quality for the price. Also, we felt bombarded by these guys--we couldn't rest and enjoy the experience. I think they just wanted to be done for the day and didn't care if they showed up at our table at an inconvenient time. But the reason I don't recommend this place is the food. Overpriced, underwhelming, bland steaks, mushy shrimp, stale tortillas, cross contamination of small amounts of mashed potatoes in my steamed veggies, when I told them I can't eat their potatoes after speaking with the chef. By the time I noticed the cross contamination, it was too late, and I got a bad allergic reaction to the dairy. At these prices, I expected maybe like a dry-brined, or marinated steak. My wife's and my steaks were neither. We only ate them because we were starving after a long day on the beach. I had to add a surprising amount of salt to make them palatable. The food bespoke a rushed, disorganized, overworked kitchen staff. Please do better. I don't think you will get many repeat diners like this.

Yelp
The Best visual and sounds for young ones to thoroughly enjoy and get a charge from , including moving animals, giant butterflies and other rain forest type creatures GREAT and small.

Yelp
Yes we came to this tourist trap but for my child and because it's the only Rainforest Cafe with a ride which he loved. We made reservations on Open Table, which is a must because on the weekends it is very very busy as in people are waiting over 30 minutes to get a table. I got the shrimp combo is actually really delicious except for the regular fried shrimp which had a weird loose coating and wasn't particularly crunchy or had any density to it. My husband got the chicken sandwich and I thought it was pretty good but he said it felt like they overcooked the chicken because it's pounded really thin. The ride was a lot of fun for my child except for when we were leaving and there's a couple on the boat ahead of us about to start, the operator started it to quickly and the other attendant fell off and into the water. Our service was impeccable. Everything was very fast and on time and he was able to take care of a Get Upside we were trying to get as well as my Landry's Select membership.

Yelp
Unless you have a plan to keep yourself busy around the area, the wait time makes this experience not worth it. We waited for ~1.5 hours to be seated and eventually decided to get tickets for the ride to make it bearable. There turned out to be a significant wait time to get on the ride and by the time it was close to being our turn, we got a text saying that our table was ready. The food was good but not memorable, definitely not worth the price but I guess you're paying for the rainforest gimmick. Our server did a great job and checked in on us a few times despite how busy it was. Conveniently enough, by the time we were done with our meal and went back to get on the ride, there was no wait time. It was cool to check out but it wasn't anything spectacular. In retrospect, I wouldn't go out of my way to come back. For the price and wait time, I'm sure there are better options.

Yelp
I really wanted to give 3 stars because it was neither really good nor really bad, but a 4 is more reasonable. Did a staycation in Galveston and took the kids here to eat. The food was decent. The kids loved their food, pizza, pasta, fried, and fruit. Each kids meal came with 2 orange slices. Had I known that, I would've gotten another side other than fruit. Hubby and I shared an appetizer sampler and it was big enough to share. My only complaint was the dipping sauces didn't taste very good. Ranch tasted line tarter and not sure if it was honey mustard or a special sauce. There's a "thunderstorm" that rips through the rainforest every 30 min or so. It wasn't as loud as I anticipated and could barely notice the noise had the lights not began to flicker to imitate lightening. The animals move when this happens. Service was decent. However, all of the employees seemed to have a slightly drab demeanor as they walked throughout the restaurant serving desserts as they yelled volllllcccaaaannnoooo, returned to the kitchen, or just delivered a dish. I assumed they'd be much chippier in a place catering to children. The store employees were all smiles though. Restrooms were clean. All in all, it worth at least once visit for the experience. Not worth a repeat visit.

Taylor P.

Yelp
Definitely $$$ but so totally worth it!! Great food, very accommodating and great experience! Even for a date night! Tons of interactive entertainment while you eat- from the rainforest landscape to people walking around doing balloon animals, face painting, magician and even their frog mascot!! Gift shop was also great!! Will definitely go again next time we're in town!

Yelp
The food was a little pricey, but that's to be expected at a theme restaurant. It was surprisingly good, which I did not expect from this type place. The service was super friendly and attentive. All the fish tanks were cloudy, which was a little disappointing, but otherwise my kids really seemed to enjoy the experience.

Tigerlily J.

Yelp
The waiter (San Diego) had a attitude with me, wasn't friendly to other people at our table, I told him I wanted marinara he gave me Alfredo, I said I wanted mash potatoes he gave me Mac and cheese, he asked me if I wanted a kids I said no and he still gave me kids?, and another person at the table asked for a to go box he never gave it to her, he took 30 minutes to give us checks and 20 minutes to give the cards back, and he insinuated that someone at our table can't handle spicy food (seems racist because the person was white).

Yelp
Had a great time and really enjoyed the experience with my family. The food was excellent all around. It came out quick and tasted delicious. Tony took great care of us and service was top notch. Definitely coming back.

Yelp
You are definitely paying for the environment and not the food quality. The $32 steak was tiny and hardly grilled and cold in middle. We ordered grilled chicken with steamed vegetables for my daughter and they brought her cheap breaded chicken nuggets and raw broccoli with carrots. I ordered a garden salad and besides the cucumbers, there was nothing extra other than a tiny cup of ranch, greens, and a couple of croutons. Had apple juice that came with kids meal, and one soda, and I had water. $59.93 server came during the animal show which we had been waiting for so it kinda ruined the experience. We won't be back!

Yelp
Who can resist a rainforest that comes to life during the storm?! This is a kid (and adult) favorite! Love the setting! We had a coupon from the hotel for a free appetizer so we chose the Queso, vey cheesy! Our favorite is the Shrimp Rasta Pasta filled with broccoli, bell peppers, and spinach. Yummy! Our server was good. Really here for the rainforest experience!

Sarah H.

Yelp
Love the food love the service and love the ambiance! Great place for a birthday! The music and animal thunderstorm time is awesome and the fish tanks you can request to sit near them

Yelp
The last time that we were here I was not impressed with the food or the menu. I filled out the Landrys member comment card and maybe they were listening, because this new menu is much better. The lasagna was sooooo good. My husband said the the chicken fried chicken was tasty, but would have been better with brown gravy. My daughter ordered the chicken cesar salad and she said it was an 8 on a scale from one to ten. She orders a Cesar salad often so that says a lot. I can definitely see myself coming here more often with the kiddos now that the food is worth the cost. Our server was also very attentive and friendly so our food experience was great all around.

We had such a good time Saturday night at Rainforest in Galveston. Alejandro was our waiter and he was excellent. We never lacked for anything. Food was great and atmosphere enjoying

Yelp
Im only rating a 3 because the service was well. Our server was kind and attentive. The food on the other hand was very overpriced. The anaconda pasta was maybe worth $7. The shrimp on the tacos was overcooked. The appetizer sampler was the best food item. We had a birthday and he asked if we wanted the volcano to come out when they sang happy birthday but didn't tell us it would cost an extra $20. Its a great experience if you're a first timer but overall you're better spending your money elsewhere

Yelp
While I enjoyed my time at the Rainforest Café, I will say I felt the food was overpriced for the quality. Overall the food was just okay. Definitely gave a kids-oriented vibe with the animal setup and curated sound effects. There was even a balloon man making shapes for the kiddos. There was also a small gift shop. Cute for pics, but no need to go back.

Yelp
We allowed the teenagers to pick the dinner place for the last night of our mini-vacation and this is where they chose. So we went at 6pm as a party of 5, and were told it would be a 30min wait, but when they called us it had only been about 11min. Melinda was our server, and an absolute ROCKSTAR, we couldn't have asked for better. She explained the menus, suggested small changes to the orders that changed them from good to amazing, sold us on the river ride, and really made the experience an unforgettable one. She even made my grumpy, not feeling well husband happy by bringing him a small sample of their coleslaw to try so he could decide on his order! She was amazing, and when we come back, we will absolutely be asking for her as our server again. Thank you Melinda!! The food was really good, and yes, it is definitely pricey, but you are paying for the experience for the kids. The light shows, animatronics, face painting, pictures, balloon animals, etc. are more than worth the cost. And so is the excellent service (Thanks Melinda!!)

Yelp
I hadn't been to a rainforest café in YEARS and when I heard we were going for a work event I was so excited. I was even more excited when I heard we were going to the Galveston location for the RIVER RIDE. The restaurant is just like I remembered others being that I had been to when I was a kid. The animatronic animals still make noises every couple minutes and the thunderstorm happens every half hour. It was definitely a nostalgic trip and I loved the ambiance. The food itself was alright. I got the Aloha Salmon and Shrimp. The salmon was pretty good, but the shrimps were a bit chewy. The menu said it came with a side of "seasonal vegetables" which turned out to be frozen carrots and broccolis. That wasn't great but oh well - we paid mostly for the experience anyway. Oh I also got a fun frog mug too. After lunch we bought tickets for the river ride (~$7). They have a couple of circular boats that can fit 6 riders. The ride lasted about 10 minutes, and it was basically a little ride around a lazy river between fake temple ruins and tons more animatronic animals. I really enjoyed it because I love rides like that, but some of the animals looked extremely creepy, and could use some love. That being said, I would go again for the experience.

Yelp
Not impresses for the price We went on a Friday night and it was only 1/3 full bad sign Ordered the combo appetizer. It was huge. But fir $33 it better be! It was ok. Nothing special Then we ordered the lava cake. $19. For a pile of little Debbie brownies with ocean cream and chocolate syrup. Eh. It was large. But should've been under $10for the crap ingredients. I won't be back

Yelp
Highlights/Lowlights 1. Great for kids 2. Overpriced 3. Average Food It had been probably 15 years since I had stepped foot in a Rainforest Cafe but my family was visiting Galveston and we had two with us that were 2 and under so this seemed like a good spot! The vibe here is VERY fun for kids. Lots of (pretend) animals that "move" and make noises, and several fish tanks with live, colorful fish. Our littles were delighted by all of this. A few of us took turns with my two year old niece walking around and showing her the different animals because she was literally too excited to stay in her high chair. If you are traveling to the area without kids however, I don't really recommend this place. As one would expect at more of an "attraction style" restaurant, the food is quite overpriced for what you get. We had a big group and nobody was overly impressed with their meal. You do get a TON of food so you should walk away with leftovers. They get you on the souvenir cups which nearly all the kids in our group got. I think it's about $15 for a lemonade or comparable drink in a light up cup. Service was friendly but slow. We were probably at lunch for about 1 hour 45 mins which is long when you have really little kids with you. We got what we expected but we loved the delight on the kids faces at the whole experience.

Yelp
My daughter and grandson love this place. I wish they'd update their Menu to better fresher ingredients The star isn't visible to me, so 2 stars because my kids liked the ambience and their food.

Yelp
Overall, it was a pleasant experience. My party and I are all in the restaurant industry, so we tend to notice things more than others. We made a reservation earlier in the day over the phone and the person who answered was very helpful. The host was inattentive and seemed to be in a rush to talk to their friend instead of seating us. Our server, Anna, was incredible. Super attentive and friendly and very accommodating. If you able, ask for Anna! The food was a little lackluster. It seemed like the mozzarella sticks had been cooked and had been ready for a little while.

Yelp
We took our toddler to this location and it was a great experience. They food was reasonable and priced as expected. They service was great and the water ride really completes the ambiance. Would recommend for anyone with kids.
