Rainhof Scheune – Restaurant Café Hotel

I went to Rainhof Scheune because of the Martinmarkt day. Sadly i misread the opening day by one day. So i decided to have a coffee and something to eat. I didn't expect that the view from the terrace was so awesome. So i had the most relaxing coffee until the kitchen was open. I couldn't decide what to get, a game stew or the deer leg. The waitress was so nice and helpfull, she told me that i could get both in smaller portion. Both tasted so good and paired with the view it was awesome. The meat was also hunted in the schwarzwald and everything was regional. Overall i can recommend this place, i know i will be back tomorrow for the market.

Stopped by Rainhof Scheune: such a beautiful place with lots of potential. We came for coffee and dessert and loved the atmosphere. Unfortunately, the service was disappointing. The servers seemed inexperienced and struggled to handle the busy time. By the time our coffee arrived, it was cold, and overall the service was not up to the standard this amazing place deserves. It’s unfortunate, because the setting and ambiance are wonderful, and with better training and organization, this could be an excellent experience

Professional and very polite staff. We asked for a few extra things, such as gluten-free bread for the wife for breakfast, and it was met with great courtesy. The hotel is very comfortable and well located away from the hustle and bustle of the town. Spacious rooms and a bathroom decorated with taste. Free parking available next to the hotel building. The breakfasts are extremely special. All products of the highest quality. Lots of regional products. Freshly baked bread. Huge selection of fresh fruit and vegetables. The view from the breakfast terrace is breathtaking and is a nice start to the day. The hotel has a restaurant where you will even find gluten-free penne pasta with ratatouille. All this made us extend our stay and we will be happy to come back here during the next holiday trips and we will recommend this place to friends.

Very nice location (both rooms anf relaxen area) which is well located to explore Freiburg and the Black forest. Friendly Service and good food. A little more tea variety and fruits for muesli for breakfast as only.space for improvement

We were invited to a wedding at the Rainhof Scheune and spent two nights in one of their suites. We were very pleasantly surprised; the style and architecture are stunning and the rooms very beautiful and cleverly designed. ||We dined at the restaurant in the evening where we were served efficiently and politely and food was very good. Yes, it was a bit pricey, but then they seem to use mainly organic and local ingredients so we thought it was yummy and justified the price. While another reviewer mentioned breakfast not being worth it, my husband and I thought it was outstanding, of very good quality and with a lot of choice - what more could you want? A great deal of dust was mentioned in another review, but we found everything to be nice and clean (but we also didn't spend our time going round inspecting dust levels everywhere in the hotel). ||Sleep quality was outstanding and we enjoyed the wellness area very much too. Staff was nice throughout and the surrounding area is gorgeous. We would not hesitate to warmly recommend their restaurant and hotel.

Nice concept, lovely rooms friendly staff. But room wasn’t clean. Had to share bed with our kid since a 10 year old doesn’t fit in a toddler bed. Kitchen not prepared for allergy sufferers. So overall a lower average. Good connections to Freiburg via train with a train stop close by.

It was perfect! I only wish we could’ve stayed longer. The rooms are quiet and charming. The food was excellent, and the service was great! We really enjoyed our stay!

My best friend since childhood lives a one minute walk from this charming hotel. I had lunch here on a previous visit, but had never stayed overnight, as my friend is an empty-nester with several bedrooms. This trip I was there for a family wedding, and she had nieces needing a place to stay more than me. I had the pick of the rooms, as I booked in May for the first of November. After explaining via email that I preferred a shower over a tub, and traditional decor over funky, we agreed on the Blumen (flower) room. It was spacious, with all the amenities you could want...a luggage stand, lots of hangers in the closet, a comfortable bed, bulk toiletries in the bathroom, a heated towel rack and a shower that looked like it would overflow into the rest of the bathroom, but it didn't! A clever design. ||||They don't take A/X and not everyone on staff speaks English well, but these are minor quibbles. There is a resident cat outside who was very friendly and pets are allowed. Not that I would bring my four dogs from the USA, but I enjoyed all the ones I saw and heard. I would definitely stay again.

My wife and I were recently traveling around Germany on our honeymoon and found this place along the way. We absolutely loved it here, personally I think it was the best hotel that we just happened upon. Everything was extremely nice and pleasant, very romantic. The room was excellent and the staff was very friendly and very helpful. The wellness spa is exceptional and very clean with the most amazing quiet/multi use room. I would love to make this hotel an annual tradition. Everything exceeded our expectations.
