My first time there: Yum. The service,🔥.. The chicken fingers, 🔥. Now, I am not a big meat person- but let me tell you- I was ready to take Raising Cane’s home with me. Idk how, idk. Those battered chicken fingers were so delightful, my soul felt flavor. They weren’t even seasoned. I loved how respectful everyone was as I had left the food to wash my hands. The man who serviced me was so patient. He was knowledgeable in the menu… I always appreciate places with good customer service. Just thinking about all of this makes me want to go back this instant. God bless all on their future endeavors 🤎🙏🏽 1/14/25

Thanks for the fresh, tasty chicken strip meals; a last-minute huge order for the RoboCats team from Waconia for the North star regional semi-finals! A special thanks to a Canes employee, ALEX, who gave me a helpful ride back to Mariucci stadium with all the delicious food for our robotics team!

I first ate at a Raising Cane’s down in Texas. At first I didn’t get it but my nieces insisted we go there, so we did. Not much for options on this menu… it’s chicken strips, or chicken strips, or chicken strip sandwiches. They are really good chicken strips though. If you’re going to only offer one thing, you better be the best at that one thing and I think they nailed it. Plus, if you go to their website and read the story how everyone told the founder it would never work and denied him good grades in business school and bank loans to get started and to then go on to research further and see that last year this chain grossed 1.5 billion dollars, you can’t help be have respect for this chain and the founder. Super friendly staff here… if you need to use the restroom, just ask a staff member for the door code. My son is attending the U of M right here so this has become a convenient stop that no one complains about. If you’re in the area, have never had Cane’s chicken and remain skeptical, I recommend you give them a try. Don’t forget the “Cane’s Sauce”.

I always enjoy Raising Cane's! The restaurant was surprisingly big and there was plenty of parking for being right next to the University of Minnesota. (The parking is the lot across the street!) Place was clean, and food came out fast, will probably come back next time I'm in the area.

First time here, the chicken was great! Moist and flavorful, well seasoned and the cane sauce was amazing. A1 customer service, the ladies were helpful and kind.

As a traveler, I meticulously choose where I eat based on reviews, and this raising canes was definitely a 5-star experience. I rarely sit down and eat, but I wanted to enjoy my chicken tenders while they were piping hot! The texas toast was buttery soft, fries crispy golden, and sweet tea made to perfection. Clean inside, and the staff was super friendly. Recommend? Absolutely #OneLove

I’ve never had a bad meal at this location. Food is always fresh and hot, and the staff is friendly. Box combo, no slaw extra toast, and extras cane sauce is the way to go.

I have always passed by this place but never had the chance to go in. Cane's is a great fastfood place and suits the location as East bank is swarming with students on a normal day. I felt the place was slightly expensive for fast food but the portions were great. We ordered the Caniac Combo. The chicken was very tender and the coleslaw was very fresh. The fries were yum and the bread was soft and fresh too. A buttery delight! Really good for a quick bite!

Yelp
this is the best chicken i've ever had. the texas toast is TERRIFIC and so are the fries. the coleslaw is actually pretty good.

Yelp
I recently had a very disappointing experience at your restaurant, and I feel compelled to share it. I placed a mobile order for pickup at the location closest to me, which happens to be on the University of Minnesota campus. Although I had never been to this location before, I chose it for convenience (which, unfortunately, turned out to be not convenient at all and actually ruined our evening). When we arrived, my husband dropped me off to go inside to pick up the food, and meanwhile, he was circling the block waiting for me to pick up the order as no parking was available. After a considerable wait, he called to check on me because it was taking so long. There were only two workers in the front: a busy female employee at the register and a male employee who appeared to be responsible for passing out food. I stood at the to-go area, staring at my food sitting there for about 10 minutes while the male worker walked past me several times, avoiding eye contact. I began to wonder if I was in the wrong area or if there was some unusual procedure at this location since the worker didn't acknowledge me, so I wandered over to the cash register area, but there was a huge line out the door at this point. I returned to the pass-out counter and watched the male worker talk with someone in the back for a few more minutes. When he finally finished, I asked if he was working, and he responded with "What?" I repeated my question, explaining that I was there to pick up my food. He clearly heard me and walked away with a smirk on his face, then started bagging someone else's food and passed out several other orders, while my order continued to sit there for about 10 more minutes. Meanwhile, my husband was getting increasingly frustrated as he continued to circle the block three times in rush hour traffic, all the while our food was sitting behind the counter being held hostage by one of the most inconsiderate and disrespectful workers I've ever encountered. I was just trying to grab a quick to-go order. After being ignored, I snapped a photo of the employee, and only then did he finally help me (you can see my order sitting there behind his shoulder, getting cold while he handed someone else their hot food). I wonder how much longer it would have taken him to help me if I hadn't taken his photo? Never, maybe. He finally asked me what I was there for, and I had to repeat my name twice. He eventually handed me my order without any apology for the wait. This employee's behavior was completely unacceptable, especially during dinner time, which is just shocking. I also find it personally offensive, as a former restaurant worker putting myself through college - I just can't believe customer service has gotten this shameful. I encourage you to review the footage from the restaurant as it's truly a sight to see. I believe he should be fired, because he clearly knew better and was being rude on purpose. It's important to understand that your customers are not just college students who will tolerate this kind of service. I love Cane's, but I will drive out of my way to avoid this location in the future.

Yelp
First time trying this restaurant chain and I'm so disappointed...that I didn't get to try it sooner! Wow. The chicken tenders were so perfectly cooked and delicious. Fires with spice, super nice. Service was super quick ordering and getting the food. The restaurant was huge and full and had a very active atmosphere due to its proximity to The University of Minnesota. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Cane's has my heart, the chicken tender place that does it right! I got the box combo with extra bread instead of coleslaw. For just under $12, it's a filling meal with great flavor. It's served hot and fresh every time. I'm so glad they expanded this location, lots of seating and I love the disco ball!
google avatar

Yelp
Just another chicken spot. I just knew this was going to be the best chicken I ever tasted because of the online reviews but whatever. Regular chicken with good sauce and great customer service. Also, the place was super clean! Great neighborhood location.
google avatar

Rachel W.

Yelp
The restaurant was quiet when we went. We were the first in line and got our food within 7 minutes. The service was fast. The food was okay! I'm not a huge chicken fan, but the chicken was crispy on the outside. The bread was great, and the fries were not salty. Overall good place if you need a quick bite to eat.
google avatar

Waverly S.

Yelp
Definitely not nearly as good as it was when it first came to town but it hasn't fallen off a cliff like the rest of the fast growing chains have. Still very customer centric. Pricey though
google avatar

Atharva D.

Yelp
It's a pretty straight forward experience! You go when you know you want one thing in particular and there aren't really any surprises involved. The fries are rather plain though and the expectation for all the flavor in the meal falls entirely on the sauce. The ambiance is fine, and they did keep everything relatively clean. Service was VERY fast! And the staff were friendly
google avatar

Andrea K.

Yelp
I mean some of the highest quality "fast food" you can get. The servers got the food out pretty fast and the chicken was amazing. Lots of disco balls - it was nice inside. Just don't eat the Texas toast. It's styrofoam.

Jessica P.

Yelp
love this canes. they work fast, the food is always fresh, they have friendly employees. line was super long and went faster than expected.

Yelp
So good, every worker is nice and respectful. They get your food out to you VERY fast! 10/10 everything!

Yelp
Everyone loves Raising Canes. I especially like this location for deliveries to the downtown area. They are great for substitutions! I always get really great and fast delivery. My standard order is the Box combo. Yummy chicken tenders and ofc sub for extra toast. Easy weeknight delivery order

Yelp
Pretty hyped to try this chicken joint since it's nowhere near the NYC metro area. One of the better rated locations in the city with a relatively clean interior and no line on a Thursday afternoon. Decided on the Box Combo ($10) - three large chicken tenders, crinkle cut fries, Texas toast, Cole slaw, and a fountain drink. Chicken is great, lightly breaded and tender on the inside. Side of sauce for dipping added some sweetness. Fries are seasoned well, though a bit soggy. Texas toast is profusely buttered and easy to eat. Originally was looking to get just the chicken, but didn't see it as an option on the menu (maybe didn't see it?). Quick and easy spot for lunch.

Brian S.

Yelp
While it might be good to eat in the take out was soggy before I arrived home. And I mean SOGGY to the point of NASTY.

Fancy R.

Yelp
Food is nice, but they got our order wrong even when the receipt showed our exact order. couldve been better on their part.
google avatar

Sini B.

Yelp
YUMN! Their chicken is amazing but the real MVP is their sauce! It's out of this world. If you haven't tried "Cane's" yet, you are missing out. They are a local favorite. 6 tenders are perfect to share! I also recommend getting their lemonade.

Rhona H.

Yelp
I'm so disappointed in Canes! they have reduced the size of the chicken strips so much they can't really be called a strip! less then half what they were when they opened. There prices have gone way up. I just paid over $18 for a 6 piece and they were so small it wasn't even enough to feed one hungry teenager.
google avatar

Laura W.

Yelp
Very fresh food at this location! The manager was going around checking how the food was with customers during the meal which was great customer service! Restaurant was very clean and well maintained

Yelp
When I'm having a bad day or craving some crispy chicken tenders, Raising Cane's never disappoints me. Although the menu is limited- there is definitely perfection. The chicken and cane sauce is pretty bomb but the best thing about canes to me is honestly the Texas toast- buttery goodness! I usually get "the box" combo which is about $8- includes 4 strips of chicken tenders, coleslaw, sauce, fries and a drink. Personally, I think this is a fair price. Like other people had said- there is usually a line but the service is better quick and friendly. As for parking- they have a free lot on the side across the street.
google avatar

Anna G.

Yelp
Canes is my favorite spot for chicken strips. The Texas toast is sooo good and the cane sauce is delicious. Highly recommend for some quick chicken strips

Alibeth N.

Yelp
Boycott this place and any other restraints who are scamming us. Don't waste your money. Target chicken strips taste way better, have proper portions and cost 1/3rd the price. Raising Cane's is no longer worth the ridiculous price. We just paid $18 for a 6 piece meal with fries. We got 3 pieces of chicken cut in half to make 6tiny half strips. I will never again waste my money there. 18 dollars fed 1 of the two people the meal was meant for. Total BS. Just as bad as McDonald's.

Yelp
For some reason, Raising Canes has been a CRAVING of mine for the past 30 days. I have visited at least three times. I typically get a four or six piece, hold the slaw, extra sauce with a sweet tea. Boy, do they have some good sweet tea. Reminds me of summers with my great grandma in McComb, MS. The customer service is... plain. Nothing spectacular but nothing to complain about. Operating during Covid19 and I am extremely grateful!

Yelp
There are classes of people that I trust to steer me in the direction of great comfort food no matter where I am in the world. Starving students or on-duty cops and paramedics. You will find all of these frequenting this little shop of chicken-y delights. Buried almost on the U of MN campus, this place is a little hard to find unless you know where you are going. and the first time I went, I saw 2 police cars and an ambulance parked at its curb along with a gathering of people in front of the door. I thought that I had either stumbled onto a crime scene or a fantastic donut shop giving out freebies. It turned out it was neither and everyone was queueing up to stand in line for "Chicken Fingers". Using the word "Chicken Fingers" in the name of the place is deceptive. Chickens don't have fingers and I know that when I have eaten things labeled as chicken "fingers", "nuggets" or "tenders" at other places, they should be more accurately named Chicken Beaks and Butts because I always end up with processed parts that no one would eat unless they were ground up, heavily disguised with seasoning, and reshaped to resemble something inoffensive. Not here though. What I got here was honest, recognizable chicken meat with shapes that were irregular enough to be believed to have come straight off a real chicken. They have a great, crispy fried coating and they were smoking hot straight out of the fryer. I not only burned my finger tips but also my lips and my tongue because I could not get them into my pie hole fast enough they were that good! Some would argue that they are a little boring. After all, it really is simply fried chicken and it does not come in different flavors, textures, shapes or shades. But I would argue that they really do 1 thing here and they get it right so they don't need to try to fancy it up with a lot of other gimmicks. Why not a 5th star? Primarily because it lacks any real ambiance and at its core is a crowded fast food joint that just happens to serve great boneless fried chicken.

Kiera S.

Yelp
I love this place and the staff is amazing I was not only helped by the awesome cashier Sifan but was helped by the sweet Jeane and the helpful Bjork and super kind James!!! these workers all deserve a fat raise they truly made our night. I will come back anytime just for them!!!! We love you guys thanks for your service.

Yelp
Ima say overrated. The food isn't all that special and taste regular. They have good lemonade! But the fry's and chicken taste like something you could get at a regular place. The dining is still not open, so you have to go through drive through which has a ridiculously long line for how average this place is. My brother likes to go here a lot, I'm more of a chick-fla person. But I really just think this place isn't that good, the the breading falls off the chicken a lot. Anyway this place isn't that important to me in all honesty.
google avatar

Maddie B.

Yelp
I've always known Cane's was great, but it's been a few years since I've been to one (mainly because they are all about a 20-30 min drive from where I live) and it's still just as great as I remembered it from previous visits. Could it be the piping hot fried chicken strips? Or possibly the perfectly salted crinkle cut fries? Potentially the Cane's sauce? Maybe it's buttered toast...or even the great service at the counter? Either way, I can understand why this place is always packed and has such a following amongst its patrons. Nothing beats a solid basket of chicken strips and fries. Thanks, Cane's! Side Note: get yourself an extra side of cane's sauce and thank me later.

Cora S.

Yelp
The food was fantastic and the service was incredible! I will definitely recommend to everyone.
google avatar

Talen W.

Yelp
It is really good I recommend to get it. The chicken and the bread are bussin and so is the sauce.
google avatar

Jonathan L.

Yelp
This place is not bad but it's a little pricey for chicken strips...but it does taste good. They mainly sell chicken strips. Their chicken strips are definitely pretty good. Much better than the ones you get at dairy queen..The chicken strips here actually taste like chicken and has a lot more meat than batter. The Texas Toast is delicious, super fluffy! Fries are decent. The cane's sauce is solid too. Great dipping for the chicken strips! If you're craving chicken strips. This is a great option for you! It's a little pricey..but it taste the best. I order the caniac combo which is their largest combo and I'm still hungry... Maybe I just eat a lot.
google avatar

Yelp
Today I went in and my order was a little off. Right before I got upset trying to get this guy to correct it. BRANDON(please correct his name of I dont remember) cute red head with a beard stepped in with a great attitude fixed my problem and corrected the other co-worker. He has great service. I left happy due to just BRANDON. Great job.
google avatar

Amy R.

Yelp
Ooohh.....That dipping sauce is off the hook. A little hint of worchestire perhaps? Really liked the sauce. Reminded me of seasoned sour cream and the chex mix flavoring. The chicken fingers were alright. Pretty moist and not overly cooked with the batter just right. Good sized chicken fingers. More than enough for lunch or dinner. The lemonade was alright. I was expecting to be blown away by the freshly squeezed statement, but nothing that made it overly memorable. The ice chips left more of an impression. Parking is a pain and am not a fan of that, but the sauce made it worthwhile. Will probably venture back if in the area.
google avatar

Tony R.

Yelp
Space is tight in this very busy and upbeat location in the U District. The Food and service is great it was and overall nice lunch experience and I would definitely stop here again when in the neighborhood.

Yelp
Raising Cane's is an extreme example of a restaurant focusing on what it does right. I'm pretty sure I can easily list from memory the food items on their menu: chicken fingers, fries, coleslaw, texas toast, and a chicken finger sandwich. So when you go here, you are going for chicken fingers. And they are perfect chicken fingers. Perfectly cooked, fresh, tender, delicious chicken fingers. They come with a sauce which is mysterious and magical. There is just one kind of sauce. They didn't go, "oh, we'll have a restaurant with just chicken fingers, but there will be lots of different sauce options". They invented a secret dipping sauce that is amazing and it's all the sauce they need. This is a busy location in the middle of Stadium Village. It's convenient to both the East Bank and TCF Stadium Green Line stations, but parking around there can be a crap shoot. There is a little bit of free-for-one-hour street parking, a bit more pay-meter parking, and sometimes you just won't get to park nearby. U of M sporting events can make this even crazier, so just be prepared for some of these factors to affect how long this activity will take. Also, don't expect "fast food" speeds; you order at the counter and wait for them to call your name. 5-10 minutes maybe. It's worth the wait. Nom nom nom.
google avatar

Blair E.

Yelp
New to the area I've never been to a Cane's. But they know their market, have a limited menu but what they do the do well.
google avatar

Heather M.

Yelp
I heard great things about the chain, did not understand the wait to get chicken.... Until we actually tried it! Best chicken we've had since moving to the Midwest from down south. Crispy, juicy & well seasoned, the sweet tea is fantastic & lemonade too. We will definitely be repeat customers it was so good! The garlic bread is delicious and the sauce grew on me after giving it a second chance. Highly recommend service was amazingly fast and employees were super friendly!!
google avatar

Brett D.

Yelp
Raising Cane's is what fast food restaurants should thrive to be. They have found their identity and they stick to it with a limited menu. Rather than push out a bunch of options to try to appeal to everyone they just do everything well. Chicken Strips: juicy and well breaded. I've never met a person who did not like these chicken strips Coleslaw: personally I'm not a coleslaw person and I actually think this coleslaw is decent Texas toast: the toast itself isn't great, but it serves as a great vehicle for the canes sauce Fries: this is the one food item I think they could improve. They are pretty average for fast food Cane's Sauce: the secret to the restaurant. I'm not a condiments person, but this sauce is so good that it's the reason I come to Cane's. The only thing this location would need to do to get 5 stars instead of 4 is work out the logjam that comes from having the line to order go right to where the drinks are.

Shawna M.

Yelp
we just ate at canes, Was enjoying our food because we love the place but as we was eating.. A mouse ran out from under the seat and ran under the bathroom door! Yeah me and my fiance will not be returning to this canes! yuck.. We just got up and left our food there. No thanks!

Grace M.

Yelp
David was very helpful best canes service ever doing the most to make the costumers happy and feel welcome!!
google avatar

Xai V.

Yelp
I first had Raising Cane's when I was still a student at the U of M almost a decade ago and I still find my way back here. Not sure what make this location better than the others but if I'm ever feeling for some Cane's, this is always the spot.
google avatar

Emme P.

Yelp
This location in the heart of the University of Minnesota campus was great! My chicken was fresh hot and lovely. My complaint was that I had way to much food! I had 3 tender, fries and Texas toast. It was insane how full I was. This Canes in comparison to the other locations I have visited was clean, fast and friendly!

Sam H.

Yelp
Cant get their food out in time, been waiting 20 mins for a box combo. I gotta put more characters on here so there you go.
google avatar

Kamrin D.

Yelp
After hearing multiple people rave about Raising Cane's I finally had to stop in for myself. I'm a huge fan of Chick-fil-a so I was excited to try some amazing fried chicken. First off, the place is usually busy but the line moves quickly. Staff and service are amazing. The fried chicken is delicious (sorry it just doesn't beat Chick Fil a for me) and that sauce is amazing. Crinkle fries are meh, but I enjoyed the coleslaw and Texas toast. The chicken is good, I just wish there were more options. All you can really get here is chicken strips. Chicken Strips on a piece of bread, chicken strips with a basket of sides, chicken strips with an extra large basket of sides.....you get the point. So if your not wanting chicken strips I would look elsewhere. The chicken is pretty darn good though. It's fresh, crispy, and juicy and will leave you wanting more. I will for sure be back and I'm happy that I live within walking distance, but sometimes I'm just craving a little bit more.
google avatar

Judy P.

Yelp
Can't ever go wrong with Cane's ! Service was super nice and quick. Food was awesome and super reasonably priced ! I'm definitely coming back soon.
google avatar

Lisa T.

Yelp
The concept is simple and yet so clever. It's a basic menu, but makes decisions so much easier as there are not a lot of options. I appreciate how simple the menu is, maybe that's why it's so popular and busy. I typically get the Box Combo with four chicken fingers and ask to exchange my coleslaw for another Cane's sauce. This meal gets me full to the point where I'm not bloated but satisfised. Sometimes I'm feeling bold and get the Caniac Combo with six chicken fingers. This gets me really full! They have the best Cane's sauce and the bet sweet tea! They also have catering for chicken fingers, talk about awesomeness and classiness! There's some seating but it just gets too busy that you wanna enjoy your Cane's in your lovely home, but feel free to enjoy it on site, but I warn you, it's fresh and hot.
google avatar

Dorothy S.

Yelp
That chicken tenderloin guys.... crispy batter; thin + scrumptious juicy chicken. Oh man. It's good. The special sauce is some ketchup, mayo, random ingredient and black pepper. It's fantastic. The combos come with soda, limp bland fries and a delliiiccouuss slab of texas toast. It's very fair for the amount of food you receive. You can also order the tenderloins separately. My only gripe is that I got jilted; ordered the 10 piece and only got 6! I'm so sad I missed out on 4 delicious tenderloins. I gotta count my goods like I'm at Hyvee next time sheeet.
google avatar

Allison B.

Yelp
Chicken is always moist and crunchy! Don't forget to get extra Cane sauce, you won't regret it!
google avatar

Hanah C.

Yelp
You can't go wrong with Cane's! This has always been a favorite spot of mine and I was so happy to find out they have a location on the UMN campus. I went with a friend today and we split the "caniac combo". This was actually cheaper than buying our own meals and we received the same amount of food. The food is always hot and fresh, the staff is friendly and the restaurant was clean.
