My husband and I spent Christmas at Raja Ampat Biodiversity Nature Resort, and WOW—what an experience! From arrival to departure, everything was seamless. Even with just 5 days, the incredible dive team made sure we got to check off every underwater dream—majestic mantas, mesmerizing carpet sharks, and the breathtaking corals of Melissa’s Garden. And let’s not forget the house reef—so alive, with a resident sea turtle and graceful rays making daily appearances! But it wasn’t just the diving that stole our hearts. The warm and wonderful staff made our stay extra special, going above and beyond to create the perfect island getaway. The Christmas celebration was magical—tropical island style, of course! They even surprised us with a romantic candlelight dinner for two—such a thoughtful touch. A huge shoutout to the owners for their commitment to eco-friendly and sustainable tourism—it’s inspiring to see a resort that cares so deeply for the environment. We already miss RA and can’t wait to return for more adventures in this little slice of paradise. If you're thinking about visiting—DO IT. You won’t regret it!

What a treat!! We spent 7 nights at Biodiversity Nature Resort and had an unforgettable stay! First we got picked up from Sorong where a local staff member helped us with ferry tickets to Waisai. After the ferry ride we hopped onto a smaller boat that took us to the resort. After a welcome "briefing" we moved into our private cabin located just meters from the sea's edge. The dive manager then took our ideas and built a plan to ensure we got to see everything on our bucket list. They also helped with suggestions on what snorkel/dive tours to participate in, as well as with hiring gear. The service is fantastic, and everyone was very responsive, organised, and helpful throughout the entirety of our stay. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are always served to all guests at the same time so within just a couple of days we had met most other guests, which made for a really awesome, friendly, friendship-like atmosphere. The snorkel tours were absolutely amazing and we had truly spectacular experiences: from swimming with Manta rays and turtles, to gazing upon colourful corals, to visiting a local village, and hanging out with the staff and other guests. All in all, in my opinion the Biodiversity resort was a 10 out of 10 experience for an affordable price. Big thanks to the entire team!! ❤️

This resort really is a travel brochure brought to life - stunning crystal-clear seas just metres from your bungalow. The jungle in your backyard. A hammock swinging from your balcony. ||I can't rave enough about this place. We loved everything about it. The food was tasty and healthy and there was plenty of it.||The staff were fabulous, friendly and helpful. ||The diving was well organised and our guides were terrific. ||If you have an afternoon off diving, the house reef is spectacular for snorkelling and there's plenty of other activities if you've had enough relaxing.

Jen and Martin are running a top notch program at Biodviersity. Accommodations are perfectly suitable. Comfortable, clean, quiet, and just enough rustic charm. The grounds are beautiful and natural. All of the meals were excellent and healthy. The diving was extremely well planned and provided the perfect sampling of the area. Would recommend to anyone looking for a dive resort in Raja Ampat

Biodiversity Nature Resort is an amazing stay. We had the pleasure to visit the resort over Christmas 2024. They arranged everything for us. A very friendly person waited for us at the airport in Sorong to take us to a waiting restaurant before our ferry departed. Although the port at Sorong was a mess, this person walked us into the VIP lounge and showed us our seats. He helped with all our luggage. Another crew member waited for us at Waisai Island, where we were transferred into a small boat to take us to Gum Island. The management of biodiversity waited for us, and everything was ready as we had asked when planning the trip. They helped with extra diving excursions and the dive guides went out of their way to show us the Electrical clamps, Manta Rays, and Pigmy Seahorses. Every dive was planned according to our needs and preferences. The house reef is huge and well-preserved. The rooms were very big, clean and Comfy. The little gazebo on the beach in front of our rooms was perfect for afternoon naps. The food with lunch and dinner was different every time and a feast was prepared on Christmas day for us. There is a beach bar with all the basics that you will need, and complimentary tea and coffee all hours of the day. The only downside is the WIFI, which is only on for two hours in the afternoon. But with such views, your family at home can wait for the pictures each day. If you want a relaxing holiday next to the sea with dives that will take your breath away, book here.

Mixed Feelings We took two weeks before writing this review to let our impressions settle. The Positive Aspects: Overall, we were very happy with our stay. The resort is located on a beautiful beach with an amazing house reef. The room was always very clean, considering the natural surroundings and the open design. The staff was extremely friendly, and Bre and Richi always put a smile on our faces. The food was truly delicious and exceeded our expectations. Additionally, the arrival and departure were smooth, as the resort took care of all transfers, making the journey stress-free. A highlight was the ability to do unguided dives at the house reef. The Downsides: Our main reason for visiting was diving, and this is where our experience was mixed. Initially, we had a guide who lacked passion for diving and didn’t pay much attention to us or our requests. More concerning, however, was his lack of respect for marine life—he not only disregarded proper diving etiquette but even touched and “tapped” corals and creatures (such as seahorses) to make them move. After raising this issue with the management, the guide was immediately replaced (and, to our understanding, dismissed). While we appreciated the quick response, we still got the impression that the resort does not enforce a strict zero-tolerance policy when it comes to protecting the reef and its inhabitants. Pricing was another issue. We booked the 3-dives-per-day package, expecting some flexibility in choosing our dive schedule (morning, afternoon, or night), but unfortunately, this was not the case. Additionally, renting equipment costs extra, which is clearly communicated upfront. However, at €35 per day, the price was far too high, given that the equipment was old and often faulty. In all of our 70+ dives across various locations, this was the first time we had to pay separately for gear. Excursions, such as trips to Fam Islands or Manta Point, were stunning but came at a steep price. As a comparison, we’ve had similar (if not better) diving experiences in places like Sipadan (Borneo) and Malapascua (Philippines), where daily boat rides of 45 minutes were standard but much more reasonably priced. Conclusion: We had a wonderful time, but we probably wouldn’t return. For the same cost, there are comparable or even better diving experiences available elsewhere, such as in Borneo.

We absolutely loved this place. The setting is literally what comes to mind when you picture a remote paradise island with crystal water, white sand and jungle backdrop. The diving was exceptional, it’s hard to imagine where else you will find such underwater beauty, colourful reefs and marine life. We were beginners and got certified with Martin who was a great teacher, made us feel safe but also built up our confidence to dive autonomously. Jen the resort manager was very welcoming and would check in to see if everything was going well. The entire team, cooks and dive guides were super friendly and helpful. We were so sad to leave and felt like we were leaving good friends behind us. Would definitely come again.

Earlier this year I really wanted to enjoy a family adventure immersed in nature and culture at the marine biodiversity hotspot of Raja Ampat. To say that the Biodiversity Nature Resort met expectations would be an understatement. We had 8 nights of pure enjoyment and it was totally worth the trek out there. From ferry transfers to villa to meals to dive center everything was so well organized. Our family consisting of two teenagers being a victim of the digital age had the opportunity to unplug and enjoy quality time together, which has been awhile. ||Even if you don’t scuba dive there are activities for everyone, I enjoyed walking the beach and seeing unique wildlife and snorkeling the house reef. The dive center is organized by Marten extremely well and my son was able to obtain his advanced open water certification and our dive guide Ube ensured everyone had a great time underwater. Being in such a remote area, it was a luxury to have valet service and surface intervals on remote beaches.||It’s really a team effort and the resort manager Jen, has everyone ensuring they are working out all anticipated needs in advance. Our villas were always cleaned when we went out and we really looked forward to meal times and they were very accommodating for dietary preferences. Laura and Richay were super servers and just delightful to have conversations with. I highly recommend going for minimum one week you will not regret it. It’s not often that my wife says we need to plan a return visit before we even left.||There are too many people to mention and I don’t mean to exclude anyone but I really enjoyed time with all of the staff.||There
