It is privately managed so a bit ticket price is higher side. Even for taking photos from mobile there is seperate ticket. But 100% value for money in terms of knowledge, experience what you get once you visit there. So many things you will find you haven't heard or explored before. Also hard to keep them in same condition so good collection of old age things. If you are in Pune, you must visit once for sure there. 1-3 hrs can take. Parking might be an issue we came here by using rickshaw as we travelled by it in Pune to visit different places. It was very convenient. This museum collection is very big, as I remember it has 3 floors. Ticket prices: Adults: ₹100 Children (under 12): ₹30 Photography: ₹100 (for mobile/camera) - they issue a band to be worn on wrist which shows you have taken ticket for photography. (Remember they keep on observing if somebody is taking photo without ticket then they stop it)

This museum is located in the most unexpected part of Pune; in the middle of a market. It is worth a visit. The ticket chargers are 120rs per adult, and 50rs per child. Mobile photos have extra charges of 100rs. They have Indian artefacts, mostly from Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu etc. One must follow the direct on the walls, otherwise it is easy to miss the Mastani Mahal. The vibe is calm, and peaceful. If you are an interested in ancient Indian culture and history, this is a must visit.

Visited on Sunday, it has wonderful collection of figurine, ornaments pottery and sculptures. Was part of our itinerary when moving from dagduseth Ganpati Mandir to saras baug. You can keep itinerary plan it will fall in tme middle of the path towards saras baug. Some of the different Ganpati and other idols different avatars are great such as shakti, five headed ganesh, Angry ganesh. The old maratha armours and warfare items also have a glimpse of the old times of the cavalry. Overall it's a sure visit for someone who is history buff and intrested in sculptures or detailed study of ancient contemporary items. The Entry fee is around 120 INR which is justifiable for the amount of items they hold and should take 1-2 hour for a quickie lookover.

What an incredible collection! Beautifully preserved, thoughtfully displayed. The most memorable part was something that cannot be captured on camera-the intense fragrance of real sandalwood!

The Raja Dinkar Kelkar Museum is a hidden gem in Pune that takes you on a fascinating journey through India’s art, culture, and traditions. What makes it special is the sheer variety of artifacts over thousands of everyday objects, musical instruments, weapons, and beautiful household items collected by the passionate Dr. D.G. Kelkar in memory of his son. Each room feels like a treasure chest, offering something unique to admire, from intricate carvings to traditional paintings and rare ornaments. Walking through the museum is like stepping into different eras of Indian life, and it’s both educational and deeply engaging. The atmosphere inside is calm, and the stories behind the collections make the visit memorable. A must-visit for anyone who wants to see India’s heritage up close.

I wish I could give 10 stars. Please dedicate a minimum 2 to 3 hours to visit this wonderful place. Raja Finals Kelkar Museum is a treasure trove of the bygone era, our rich heritage and ancient history. Museum has an exclusive collection of various artifacts all over India and is systemically classified into Various sections. Collections include sections on textiles , Ancient doors , lamps , puppetry, kitchen utensils, musical instruments, Armors and weapons, ancient sculptures, objects of beauty and culture, daily use items from the ancient times etc. It had more than 20000+ artifacts. A tour through this museum transports us to a few hundred years in history. I cannot appreciate enough how beautiful our culture is and how pristine these collections are. Our ancestors had a strong sense of beauty and aesthetics and one can see that through the daily use objects displayed here. Please do buy a camera ticket so that you can document a few of these unique collections.

Awesome museum to discover things used in ancient times. Huge three story building with so much to explore and learn. One needs at least 3-4 hours to see the entire place.
