Tucked away in a by lane, off the busy Bajirao road. Raja Ices is one of the oldest ice cream shops in Pune. The old hand churner ice cream machine is kept as a momento. We ordered mango, roasted almond and chocolate ice cream scoops. Served in old style glass bowls the ice cream has a homemade flavor. Also recommended are Mastani and Gadbad ice-cream. Value for money.

Found this shop on a fellow Local Guide's recommendation list, so decided to give it a try. Before visiting read the reviews and many recommended to taste their lemon grass flavour ice cream. I tried it out and was blown away with its taste. What made it extra special was its rare availability. So far I have never found any ice cream shack, be it big or small, selling lemon grass. The owner said they make their ice creams through natural fruits and flavours, just like the good old days. It was started in 1947, with hand churning machines. The machine is still on display at the entrance of the shop. I also their their gulkand flavour which was great and the orange flavoured scoop, which didn't satisfy me much. Overall I would highly recommend their lemon grass flavour to everybody and the owner recommended that I try their Mastani as well. The prices are economical and on my next visit to Pune I'll definitely stop over here and try out their other flavours and Mastani as recommended by the owner.

I visited here after watching a video on a food channel. I had known pot ice creams for many decades, and it was a delight to taste the magic of pot ice cream again at Raja Ices. I tried my favorite Figs Anjeer flavor and it turned out to be super tasty. The ambiance is simplistic since this place is more than 75 years old. The surrounding area is quiet and peaceful to enjoy the ice cream. 🚘Parking is free roadside. ♿ is limited. 🚻is not available.

Raja Ices is a timeless gem tucked away in Sadashiv Peth, Pune. Walking in feels like stepping back into a simpler era — its charm comes from being one of the few places that still makes ice cream in a pot, using the traditional method. The menu features truly unique and nostalgic flavours: lemongrass, red guava, paan masala, fig, and more. Their mastani shakes — especially mango and chocolate — are rich and deeply satisfying. What’s amazing is that they still offer a service from the old days: if you bring your own ingredients (like milk), they’ll prepare ice cream in their pot for you. It’s clear this is more than just a business — it’s a legacy. The shop itself is modest and unpretentious. The iconic old pot they used for making ice cream is even kept on display, a tribute to its heritage. Prices are very reasonable, making it perfect for a nostalgic treat without breaking the bank. If you want a genuine old-school ice cream experience in Pune, Raja Ices is definitely worth the trip.

Started in 1947, its one of the very old ice cream shops in Pune. Situated in hustle bustle of Sadashiv Peth and Bajirao road, it's a small outlet which can be missed easily. But once you step in, you are treated with real and authentic ice creams and mastanis created by themselves. They offer many flavors in ice creams but Mango is easily their very best! Apart from Mango, Anjir, Santra, Peru, Roasted almond, Kesar Elaichi, Paan are hallmarks of their quality. Lemongrass is one flavor which only they prepare in Pune.. All products are authentic without any preservatives or chemicals. They also have facility of people giving them raw material like milk, sugar, pulp etc and they deliver the ice cream of the same.. When in city area in Pune, one can definitely visit this iconic place..

Step into Raja Ices and step back in time! This iconic ice cream parlor in Pune is the perfect blend of tradition and flavor. 🌿 The lemongrass ice cream is a refreshing twist you won’t find anywhere else, and the orange ice cream will transport you straight to your childhood summers. 🧡 And their Bajirao Mastani? A masterpiece in a glass! 🥤✨ Truly a place every dessert lover must experience.”

Best icecream in Pune. operational since 1947, Raja Ice is an iconic ice cream and mastani shop. Do try their "Gadbad Icecream" and the Bajirao Mastani. They also have unique flavours of icecream but the stand out flavour is Mango Icecream. Their ice creams and Mastani are available on Zomato also. The Mastani is far superior to the other famous brand in Pune

The bestest and oldest ice cream place in town. It’s very rich in flavour and you get a lot of options to choose from. Lemongrass ice cream is a must try. They also take orders. Give all the material as mentioned by them and take a delicious ice cream dabba to your home. The ice cream is cold but you’ll surely get a warm feeling here.
