Visiting Bangkok: My Suggested 3-5 Day Itinerary for 2025

"For an authentic Muay Thai experience I prefer Rajadamnern Stadium, which hosts world-class fighters and can hold up to 8,000 spectators — there’s usually something on every night so check the schedule if you want a real, serious match rather than a tourist show." - Matthew Kepnes

The 22 Best Things to Do in Bangkok (Updated 2025)

"For watching Muay Thai, I consider Lumpinee Stadium the best spot in Bangkok: the new stadium (opened in 2014) holds up to 15,000 spectators, fight nights are typically Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday at 6pm with around 7–9 fights per night, matches last about 25 minutes unless there’s a knockout, and tickets start around 1,600 THB; there are also plenty of food hawkers so you can grab a bite while watching." - Matthew Kepnes

🥊 Amazing experience at Rajadamnern Stadium! The fight was exciting, immersive, and respectful, with a great energy from the crowd. The stadium is well organized, with souvenir shops, clean restrooms inside, and snacks like popcorn available. If you sit close to the ring, you get VIP service: waiters take your order, deliver drinks and appetizers straight to your seat, and you pay right there while watching the fight. A highlight was the projection mapping on the ceiling and walls, which made the event even more special. I bought my ticket through Booking and the entry was super easy — my name was already on the list, and I just picked up the wristband quickly at the counter. Highly recommended!

Very nice staff. Bathrooms were clean. Very easy to get drinks and food, there are waiters walking around the ring and if you want you can go get it yourself. The fights themselves were a bit short in my opinion, I expected more action. We sat ringside and it was easy to watch and be seen. The host put on a good show

INCREDIBLE! This event was truly the best we have ever been to. We had pre booked ringside seats which was worth every penny, and some! A true VIP experience from the moment we arrived. Staff were very friendly and led us to our seats. They also came around regularly throughout the event offering menus. The snacks, food and drinks were great. The MC was amazing and we loved the history show and the lighting and fights were all truly spectacular. The hubby and teenage boys were in heaven! We got free t shirts and the boys got to go back stage after the fights and have photos taken with the fighters, AMAZING! Highly recommend spending the extra money for the ringside seats. We would definitely come again and HIGHLY recommend for anyone (couples, families, solo, groups) 👌👍💪🇹🇭❤️

I didn't know whether to give this 3/5 for being an overpriced tourist experience or 5/5 for being a fabulously OTT tourist experience. Let's start with the seats... It was difficult to tell when booking the seats how far away you'd be from the ring so went for ringside at 50USD. This was a huge mistake as the venue isn't big and the atmosphere was very sanitised. Up on the cheap seats is where all the fun is. Even in the cheap seats you're still looking at 20USD but the showmanship makes up for it: an announcer that really got the crowd going, kiss cams and "bottoms up" cams and a half time show that uses the 360 LED display that runs round the entire venue and covers the roof. The food and drink options in ringside were expensive - I don't know if that differs in the cheap seats - and the food was bland, so no different to the majority of football grounds. The fights were a mixed bag with the ferociousness really stepping up after the half time show when the young lads got in the ring. If I'd been around for longer, I definitely would have attended a second night, but up with the locals.

Being there was a unique experience. I highly recommend everyone to attend. The organization is perfect. You don't have to wait long at the ticket office. It's best to get tickets online in advance. It goes even faster that way. The atmosphere is incredible. The view made us feel like we were right in the middle of it all. This certainly won't be the last time we're here.

This was an awesome experience! So much fun! I highly recommend trying this if you come to Bangkok Thailand. It's a true experience. We did the VIP Seats which included unlimited drinks (non-alcoholic) and things like popcorn and hot dogs. It also included nice seats and a bar to put things on. Plus a great view of the ring. This place is a must try experience. The fights were great and saw 2 knockouts. Wow! So much better in person.. Some of those guys are going to be hiring for weeks. Seating & Times I would recommend VIP or section 8 or 9. Sitting ring side of hard to see. Remember it starts at 7pm and the dome ceiling show starts at 8:10pm. It's much smaller than it looks online but still a good size. Any seat will be good but that's just my recommendation. Bonus Tip It’s pretty easy to get to, but it’s definitely harder to get out of because of all the people trying to order Grab/Bolt so either you have to have a car ready from your hotel or Car Service you know or walk a little ways and get one a little further down the road. Tickets Book online so you select your night and seats ahead of time. Head to window two to scan your QR code and get your official tickets and wristband if your VIP. It is air conditioned, but with all the lights and stuff it gets a little warm so you might wanna take a little portable fan if you run hot. also, if you’re not sitting in VIP, you might wanna bring a seat cushion because it can get a little hard to sit on the concrete. It last around 3-4 hours and varies based on the fights and how long the fighters last. Hope you have an amazing time!

I attended an event during my first visit to Bangkok. I purchased my tickets through Get Your Guide and had a very easy time exchanging my voucher for a paper ticket at the ticket counter. They escorted me to my seating area and the food and drink servers regularly checked on us to see what orders we needed, and someone came during to clear out trash. All of the seating looked like it had good views but I enjoyed sitting ringside! Easy to access the stadium and a convenient waiting area for tour grab/taxi/ride.

A lot of entertainment for a reasonable price. Drinks are quite expensive, so if you’re in a group of friends it might make sense to get the free beer VIP alternative. Also, it’s very „Americanized“ how the announcements are done etc, so I’m definitely also looking forward to seeing a Muay Thai show in a different environment some day. But this was definitely a great night out!
