I seriously think this restaurant has the best Japanese food in Orange, whether it is dinner meals or meals that are limited to lunch time, they are all very delicious! You can feel their persistence and seriousness in the quality of their food. Their sashimi is also fresh, the wagyu is delicious, and especially their pork dishes are so delicious! It will be a restaurant that I will especially take my friends to if they come to Orange from far away.

If you’re in Orange, you need to make this one of your dining experiences. Brilliant food, great staff, not crowded. We recently went to Japan for 3 weeks and have been craving authentic Japanese food, this is it! I wish they were local to us. We had bento boxes for lunch earlier in the week, these were also amazing and the miso is some of the best I’ve tasted!

The Best Japanese Fusion restaurant in Australia. This came as a surprise to me after having tried some of the most famous fine dining joints including Tetsuya, Azuma, Haco, Sake and Sokyo. Every dish we ordered blew our minds with their flavour and fragrance. From the starter (croquettes) to the sushi (Volcano roll) and mains (Wagyu Katsu, Duck breast). Even the simple green tea ice cream is a delight. If you are in Orange and decide not to dine at this restaurant, you are missing out big time.

Made a booking on a recommendation. Walked in and was greatly by very friendly staff, promptly seated and water brought to table. The menu whilst not overly extensive had an excellent selection. The wine selection was good and also pleasing to see local wines featured. If you are after a beer, very hard to go past the Asahi on tap. We chose two starters and three mains. This was so much food and possibly over ordered by one main. Flavours were incredible across all dishes. Presentation was excellent. Unlike many Australian Japanese restaurants, Raku Izakaya did not over power dishes with sauces. The freshness of the ingredients really shone through. Highly recommend visiting Raku Izakaya but bookings are essential as they were fully booked and locals tell us this is a usual occurrence.

Update: Visit again with friends. I had Lava Raman which was nice in this winter season. Staffs were very polite and friendly as usual top grade! ------ Had 8 dishes, including main dishes like Fried prawn udon soup, the duck and wagyu. Fried prawn udon soup was a disappointment as the fried prawn was made to swim in the soup instead of placed aside. The duck breast was tender but the sauce taste weird in combination with polenta. The wagyu was asked to be medium rare done and it was very good except the meat sauce was on the high sweet side. Meat quality was great. One thing surprised me was the freshness of the fish, it was very fresh -- excellent, giving the fact that Orange was so much inland. The staffs were friendly and welcoming. However the boss himself need to improve his management with customer expectation. If your restaurant open at 5.30pm, and your customer was 10min early at 5.50pm for 6pm booking, making us wait outside in the cold was unbelievably amazing.

So great to have such a quality Japanese Restaurant in regional NSW! We had the Chicken Katsu Bento Box, Seafood Ramen, Braised Pork Belly, Miso Soup and the Soft Shell Crab Roll. All meals were delicious and fresh, the service was friendly and quick! Such a great feeling to enjoy a world quality meal with great service. We travelled from Parkes to Orange to enjoy this meal and I recommend this place absolutely. I believe they are now also open in Bathurst. 10/10
