Ramakrishna Restaurant in Vile Parle is truly a gem — a namma Udupi hotel carrying its rich 50+ years of legacy with pride. The ambience is just right for relishing authentic South Indian flavors, while also blending in Mumbai’s popular dishes. The button idli was soft, fluffy, and absolutely delicious ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5). Misal pav was the star of the meal — bursting with flavors and spice, simply wow ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5). Bread toast paired with a refreshing cup of tea sealed the outing on a high note ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4/5). The staff’s warm service, especially their cheerful Kannada conversations, made us feel right at home. A perfect mix of tradition, taste, and hospitality — this is a must-visit for food lovers!

We wanted to have a quick bite before flying so they prepared our food in under 5 minutes. We ordered chana masala and Dal makhani. Both of them were delicious. Chana masala was the best one so far we had as it was creamy and not greasy as in many other places. Service was great too as they made sure we leave as soon as possible to catch out flight.

There is good seating arrangement. It is opposite railway station so easily accessible. Service is super quick. Staff is polite and food quality is up to the mark. We had Farali kachori and sabudana wada. Both the items were well prepared.

Ramakrishna Restaurant, located right outside the Vile Parle East railway station, is truly an iconic landmark that has been serving locals and visitors for many, many years. Known for its outstanding Punjabi, Chinese, and South Indian food, this place has maintained its charm and loyal customer base across generations. It remains crowded almost throughout the day, and waiting is very common, especially during peak hours. Parking can be a major challenge due to its prime location, so walking or public transport is usually the best option. The restaurant offers two seating options—the ground floor has shed seating without air conditioning, while the first floor has an air-conditioned section for a more comfortable dining experience. One of the welcome recent additions to their menu is new South Indian varieties such as Bensa, which is absolutely delicious and worth trying. Their filter coffee is exceptional and has earned a strong fan following of its own. Some of the other famous and timeless choices include tea and toast butter, puri bhaji, and masala dosa. The service is extremely fast and efficient, even during rush hours, which is impressive given the high footfall. Overall, Ramakrishna continues to remain a classic and dependable restaurant, offering great taste, quick service, and a nostalgic experience in the heart of Vile Parle East.
