This is a quaint café with an intimate setting in an historic building. The food was good, and is pretty much what I expected from a Thai restaurant. I did not try any tea, so I cannot vouch for it, but I’d definitely recommend the food. The dishes offered more meat than Thai places in bigger markets, it appears. The cashew-infused offering surprised me, but it is located in Springfield, so it’s par for the course.

Google
We haven't been here in a while so big changes were noticed. The drunken noodles were more oil than flavor, but the building is in serious need of stuctural repairs, large hole in the soffit, windows missing in the attic, porches are leaning and supports are rotten and sagging. The lawn is long, outdoor seating is surrounded by pots of dead plants, trees and leaf and debris is mounded at the edges of the patio seating. So sad.

Tony Hepp

Google
Very good! Delightful outdoor dining. Lots of aromatic finger root in the Amazing Rama entree. We enjoyed four entrees, a salad, and pot stickers. Great location.

Google
This is probably my husband’s and my favorite restaurant in Springfield! They have a large menu and everything is fantastic. The appetizer sampler is great because you can try a lot of different appetizers in one order. Any of the curries are amazing, but the drunken noodles are my favorite. Great place!

Google
Never would have known this charming place existed if I hadn’t seen someone mention it in a YouTube video. This family owned and operated establishment is in a quaint old historic home in a quiet neighborhood. My girlfriend and I started our lunch with crab Rangoons with a very tasty dipping sauce. She had the Sweet and Sour chicken which had vegetables and pineapple. She enjoyed it very much. I had the cashew beef with vegetables, pineapple and mushrooms. I also enjoyed my flavorful meal. The service was friendly and quick.

Google
I have to say that this is one of the best Thai food And forest service goes. I haven’t had any issues with food, but I know that if I were too, they are quick to fix and is very accommodating. Their food is delicious and I can tell how much love and effort that goes into every single plate. If you want true authentic Thai food, please check this place out. My favorite is their Thai fried rice and mixed vegetables with beef.

Google
Edit/add Can’t call in an order its mailbox is full. 😤 Cute place! The front door seemed locked with a sign but we got in from the side door. The fried tofu appetizer was great! The basil fried rice was great too. I think it could use some more basil leaves. The portion was boarderline smaller than I expected.

Google
3.5 stars. Satay Chicken dry tough and barely marinated. Drunken noodles very tasty. Basil chicken was just ok. Definitely cheap eats though. The building is kinda cool. Have had much better Thai food elsewhere.

Yelp
Food authentic and perfect portions. Ordered the Fresh Spring Rolls and they were freshly wrapped. Followed the rolls with Tom Yum Soup with chicken and it was again perfect- served hot and spiced just right Entree was Shrimp Pad Thai right sized portion, perfectly cooked rice noodles and plentifully covered with shrimp(shell tails removed- the only way) and spot on enveloped in the sauce. Service was slow at the door for recognition of a Guest wanting seating. Once seated the food came out as ordered, however wasn't half way done with the Tom Yum soup and bam Pad Thai gets delivered. All in all food was delicious and FRESH. Ambiance - music was good, they could use some new paint on the walls and doors. Be careful walking from the sidewalk as there's many nicks loose, same with the steps going up to the. Fro t door.

Yelp
I am a Thai snob sorry folks ! Someone recommended this to me as I am not from the area and they said it was the best Thai foods If you are looking for reasonable 12.95 for curry and rice come here . Nice staff - neat restaurant inside Could be cleaner - dead plants on the balcony and pepper plant dying or hibernation in the lobby. Food is okay- I had to salt - I have never had to salt a curry before . Chicken is rubbery. Would I try again! Sure I always give second chances. It seemed to be a busy and popular place . Go for it ! Not the best curry but it will do.

Yelp
THIS restaurant came highly recommended or I would have not stopped. The restaurant is an older home that could use a generous helping of TLC. I'm glad we listened to friends. Our meals were delicious. The service was courteous and thoughtful. The prices were reasonable. Will return.

Yelp
I don't get to this place too often - but when I do, it's always a winner of a place. The place is so consistent, from visit to visit. And today, the place was busy as all get out - we sat upstairs - and the upstairs was virtually full (along with the downstairs). Yet, service and speed of entrees coming to the table, was excellent. Pad See Ew: This noodle dish is the right flavor profile for this traditional dish. Sauce is quite flavorful tasty. The beef was plentiful. Vegetables were all throughout. And all was nicely cooked and good tenderness....yet (not) mushiness to the ingredients. Yellow Curry: I tried this dish (which) the other guest ordered. The dish was well balanced in flavor. The coconut milk can get strong...or be what you (only) taste at other places. This place had a nice balance to it all. Vegetables in this dish were cooked very good. Located by MSU school and the historic Walnut St historic district - this restaurant is in a older home. Makes for a good setting...to enjoy lunch or dinner.

Yelp
Arrived around 7:30pm on a Saturday night. No wait. Someone was at the register but didn't greet us - so we stood there awkwardly for a couple minutes until someone greeted us and took us to a table. Service was fast. We ordered a few appetizers and everything was really good. My daughter ordered the garlic & pepper chicken and really liked it. My son got the broccoli beef and it didn't have much flavor so a disappointment there. I ordered the Gapraw chicken and didn't like it as much as at other restaurants where I've had it. The chicken was a little grisly. My husband ordered the Rama Thai chicken and was happy with his dish. We'll try it again...and just choose other dishes. Love the homey feeling of the restaurant.

Yelp
All of the above!! I've had my eye on this place for awhile, and it did not disappoint. Service so friendly , accommodating. Local collage vibe! Crab Rangoon super fresh, so tasty! Love the spice, Green curry perfect. Ccozy atmosphere of a unique old home. Bummer no wine I'll be back!

Yelp
Rama Thai is one of my top favorites in Missouri. The restaurant/house does need some work or it won't be too long before they will have to relocate. Their customer service is always great. They are always very nice and make sure the customers are happy. I've ordered on-line and over the phone, it is very easy and I've always received everything I've ordered. The food is delicious, there hasn't been anything that I hadn't been satisfied with. If you like Thai food this is the spot, I always recommend them. I hope they are always in business or I will seriously cry.

JR R.

Yelp
This place is a gem. Hidden in a neighborhood right off a Main Street. Easy to find. Very nice staff and food was on point. Perfect pad Thai. Great ambiance. Great service. Great food. We will for sure be back and we were seated immediately.

Yelp
This restaurant is located in the middle of a neighborhood in a home converted to a restaurant. Peeling paint and rotting wood outside & on the covered patio/porch out back give it a rundown rather than rustic feel. The food is fine, but strangely a little bland for a Thai restaurant. It's a popular place in Springfield, but I'm not sure it would make it in the St. Louis area with such amazing competition.

Yelp
Located in a beautiful old historic home this is our second visit to Rama Thai. The first time was for lunch, this time dinner. Our evening meal was just as delicious as our lunch from the other day. We added egg rolls to our crab Rangoon appetizers and they didn't disappoint. Both were hot, fresh and tasty. This family owned and operated cafe has won several awards for their food and service. We can see why. The staff is friendly with kind smiles and polite attitudes. I asked for a suggestion for my main course and the young lady suggested the Two Best Friends with Fresh scallops and shrimp stir-fried with sweet chili paste, baby corn, bell peppers, pineapples, scallions, broccoli, and cashews. It was an excellent suggestion if you like seafood and I do. Everything was fresh and full of flavor. I was a bit sad whenever I ran out of broth to soak the rice in and even sadder when the meal was finished. It was a great meal in an intimate setting for my girlfriend and I. She by the way loved the cashew beef that I had for lunch previously, so she ordered it for herself this time. My only disappointment was they didn't have any duck for the crispy duck but after talking to the waitress I understand why. Just not enough demand. Anyway I'm sure it would have been fantastic. One last comment, the home made palm sauce is spot on. My girlfriend and I fight for the last drop. lol

Yelp
Food was excellent Service was good Ambiance was ok Definitely will return Very hard workers!

Yelp
Rama Thai is located in a super cute house with parking on the street and behind. I phoned in an order for pad see ew and Thai tea because Everyday Thai was closed on mondays. I will admit, I am a noodle snob. My favorite thing about pad see ew is seeing that dark noodle sauce and the pan fry marks on the noodles. Unfortunately this dish was lacking both, and honestly was pretty flavorless. It felt like it was thrown together pretty rapidly and the noodles were chewy, dry, and flavorless and the broccoli was traditional broccoli instead of being broccolini or Chinese broccoli. The tofu was fried well and they included a lot of it- I ended up eating the tofu and tossing the rest. The Thai tea was delicious at least and I appreciated the caffeine boost! Sad to say my experience here was not what I was hoping for.
google avatar

Tenee R.

Yelp
The Thai green tea was delicious. Strong green tea flavor with the right amount of milk. I had the 'shrimp rolls' as an appetizer which is essentially a piece of shrimp, wrapped in spring roll paper and fried, served with a sweet/sour/salty dipping sauce. Nothing special... My entree was Masaman Chicken Curry. It could have used more salt and more curry. The flavor overall could have been more pronounced. Also, there was not much chicken in the dish. The hostess and server were both very polite and hospitable. The restaurant is located on the lower floor of a two story 'older' house that could use a bit of tlc outside as well as inside. I may try them again, but will order something else.
google avatar

Allison N.

Yelp
So good. Lunch specials are a great bang for your buck and the crab rangoons are amazing and crispy. Pad Thai and mango curry are my favorites but the green curry is a close rival. Never ate anything bad here and service is always friendly. They have had some staffing shortages like the rest of the world so be kind and keep that in mind. Not a ton of parking or seating so allot a little extra time.
google avatar

Steve A.

Yelp
Good quality Thai food with friendly service in a charming historical house. The choice of proteins for each dish includes fried chicken, which though non-traditional, turned out to be great with the garlic pepper broccoli. Generous portions and good prices.
google avatar

LaVonna S.

Yelp
I have always enjoyed coming to this restaurant as the food has been always delicious. That hasn't changed, but the restaurant seems to be cutting back and charging more. Took a few family members with me today. Waiter was very nice. I order Tom Kha Gai (Coconut Chicken Soup) and when I got it, there was no chicken in it). When I asked about the chicken they offered to get me some. When I got the bill they charged me $2 for it. My husband got Drunken Noodles with very little veggies. The Crab Rangoons had very little filling. The inside of the restaurant is kept up for the most part, but the outside needs a lot of work. I know times are difficult, but theses issues are hard for me to say if come back.

Michael E.

Yelp
The food and service were both fantastic. Staff were friendly and quick to help. I would strongly recommend the Thai Tea; it was delicious and a great way to wrap up the meal

Vincent N.

Yelp
Good food and nice ambiance. Nice outdoor seating. Indoor, more ventilation needed.

Yelp
We stopped by on our way home from the airport. In this quiet little neighborhood you will find a 2 story yellow house. There was a short wait, but the food was well worth it! Fresh spring rolls, Crispy Duck curry and Tom Kha soup. The food was amazing! We were so hungry we forgot to take pictures! We will be back!

Yelp
If you're wanting to go out on a nice date night with your Boo Thang and you both love Thai Food; Then this is the place for you! My husband and I recently visited this restaurant and definitely forgot just how Delicious the food was here. The last time we had dinner here was before COVID hit which was approximately three to four years ago. The restaurant is located in a Beautiful Romantic Victorian style home where they serve the most authentic, delicious, Fresh Thai Food Around the Springfield Missouri area. The Chefs name is Thip (pronounced "Tip") who was born in Roi Et in eastern Thailand and is serious about the authenticity and freshness in her food she serves. I know that my husband and I have Never had a bad meal here and the service is Always top notch. I'm looking forward to my next visit!

Yelp
Food was delicious! Only tried because Thailand station is closed on Sunday and it may be my new favorite! We sat outside on the patio. Great service too!
google avatar

Clay H.

Yelp
Excellent Thai food and outstanding service. I had the shrimp pad Thai with noodles. Delicious! And the spring rolls were perfect. They also feature a reasonably priced lunch special
google avatar

Kim B.

Yelp
We loved the ambiance-- lots of character-- sat in the outside patio area. Service was also good. But we were disappointed-- The food wasn't bad, but it also wasn't that great.... The massamans that I ordered just didn't even begin to compare with what I've had at other restaurants. The reviews from the other members of my party were similar... just a "meh".
google avatar

Derrick G.

Yelp
Rama Thai had good food and service. We ordered some more entrées to include the panang curry, sesame chicken, pad thai, cashew chicken, and pad see ew noodles, along with several appetizers. The appetizers had good flavor, but the tiger cry beef was a tough. As far as the entrees all the dishes were good, except the pad thai was average. It did not have the sweet and savory balance I enjoy in pad thai. Overall, this is a good Thai Food restaurant, I would visit again.
google avatar

Caton J.

Yelp
Food was just what I was looking for with a good spice level. Just enough to get the nose running ;-)

Joshua F.

Yelp
Service wasn't great. Felt like I was an inconvenience to my server. Food lacked seasoning which made it bland.
google avatar

Nickollii W.

Yelp
Food is authentic and delicious. Service is friendly and helped recommend choices. The location is a transformed house and the style is super cute.

Bread H.

Yelp
It was amazing! The service was quick. Kind of southern home feeling with a Thai twist. But the southern stops with the house. The food was awesome! Spring rolls were fresh and the sauces served with them were excellent. Thai tea couldn't have been better. Pad Thai was the perfect amount of peanuty, sweet, and spicy. Panang curry was delicious!
google avatar

Sara K.

Yelp
This place is not much to look at from the outside, however, the food was delicious! Would go back again if ever in the area.

Mark T.

Yelp
If I'm not mistaken, this originated as a little Thai restaurant on the SE corner of Glenstone & Division which became popular, then suddenly disappeared only to pop up in the MSU campus area. Of course, my memory may fail me but the taste of their Pad Thai doesn't... The surroundings are pleasant though not reflective of Bangkok. The service isn't particularly effervescent yet purposeful as they have a job to do & do it well. Typically, I'm an adventurous spirit when it comes to menus, but when it comes to Thai food, I'm fixated on Pad Thai...and RT's is the best I've had in Springfield...so far. While my wife loves to comingle appetizers: Crab Rangoon, Spring Rolls, or Satay, which she'll share, but usually has either the Thai fried rice or variation thereof or fried pot stickers for an entre. There are other Thai restaurants in town that might have one slightly better appetizer or dish than RT but no one beats their Pad Thai...hands down, bar none. I highly recommend this Rama Thai and hope you're more adventurous than I.
google avatar

Mark R.

Yelp
Overall, pretty good Americanized Thai food in convenient location. This place will satisfy the desire to enjoy a good curry or some fairly noodles, but don't expect to be flooded with the fresh explosion of flavors that you would get from authentic Thai or that one finds in Thailand. The portions are very generous and flavorful, but the Pad Thai noodles were seriously over cooked. Likewise the Masaman Curry was flavorful, but the chicken was over cooked and quite rubbery. Conversely, the Spring Rolls were fresh and very well rolled.
google avatar

Chandi M.

Yelp
Stopped in here for some Pho and we are so glad we did. The Vintage House Restaurant is amazing and comfortable with two levels of dining options but make sure they don't try and sit you next to the second floor bathroom. It's a cute view of the stairs but still there's a bathroom, we asked to be moved and the staff was very accommodating. Then the food started and let me tell you it's all full of fantastic flavors and is so yummy. If we are ever in the area again we will definitely stop in.
google avatar

James S.

Yelp
Ordered on their own website for a pickup order. Arrived a few minutes early and they had difficulty locating order, but after a few minutes food came out. Ordered starter chicken satay which I was excited for, I love my satay sauce, however they forgot the satay sauce so I was just left with dry chicken skewers. Tom yum soup was good, little chunkier than I'm used to but was nice and spicy. Thai fried rice was not my favorite, chicken pieces were too big, like the ones in the soup, a little more attention to knife work would be great. Also asked for it to be medium heat and there was none. Some hits and some misses on this visit.
google avatar

Andrew J.

Yelp
This place was very lackluster. Food was not great but not bad. If you're craving Thai it will scratch your itch
google avatar

Shannon C.

Yelp
I ordered delivery and spoke with the staff before ordering from GrubHub to verify I could receive GF food. The food is very flavorful and fresh. The 4 stars instead of 5 are due to the curry being so spicy hot they should offer a number for how spicy you like it. For me I could not eat it. And second reason I received my order with no napkins or utensils and my delivery address was a hotel. Next time I'm in town I would try it again but be more specific about my needs if this is usual. All in all...I recommend

Ben P.

Yelp
I have been here probably 6 times and WOW this place delivers every single time. So so good. Also, I really like the vibe of this place. EAT LOCAL. The only reason I am giving this a four star rating is because the hours are kind of weird.
google avatar

Luciano Y.

Yelp
The food is not that great, maybe it's OK for people who live here in Springfield, but I have tasted Thai food from many restaurants around the United States, and this one is like at one star, flavor, wise, one star, presentation, watery food, vegetables are all dead, overcooked, I asked for extra basil and got three leaves, I asked for extra garlic, None was added. The food taste like soy sauce and sugar.
google avatar

Kristian V.

Yelp
Cool aesthetic to the place. Sat upstairs and the tables were spaced great. Service was amazing. Food was good too.
google avatar

Diana P.

Yelp
I LOVE their Rama sampler, as has a fresh handmade spring roll w peanut sauce along with the usual assortment of crab rangoon, shrimp roll (amazing) and eggroll. Tom Yum along with Tom kha soups are good, comfort. My fave entree is the Pad Kew Mow or drunken noodles adding shrimp or tofu, making a delish meal w a hint of basil-fabulous. Not a huge fan of the curry as hit or miss, and some of the other dishes can be the same, but always a tasty treat to be had when opting to dine at Rama. .
google avatar

Nahyun K.

Yelp
Seriously hate that I'm giving this place a 3 star rating. Let me tell you, there's nothing worse than seeing amazing reviews and getting excited to try some place new, and not holding up to those standards. And go ahead and look at my profile and see all of the 5 stars I love giving out. I rarely ever rate lower than 4 stars unless it truly was not good. We came during lunch time and it was busy of course. The restaurant is in a house like building, super cute area. We got sat at a table inside and were immediately taken drink orders. The server originally gave us just the lunch menus and so I asked if I could get a dinner menu (wanting to order dinner sized plates). We ordered Thai tea, fresh spring rolls, crispy egg rolls, pad kee mow, Tom yum soup, and a kids meal chicken fried rice with a drink (that was never given to us). This is the order each of our plates came in. First, spring rolls. Second, pad kee mow. Third, tom yum soup and kids meal chicken fried rice which was more like an adult lunch size plate (totally fine). Then I had to ask about my Thai tea and egg rolls. After we were halfway done with our entrees, I got my Thai tea. Then as more so dessert, we finally got our egg rolls. In the middle of the chaotic, ass backwards serving of foods, we asked for a spice tray. He brought us a spice tray that was completely empty. And on top of all of this, we were given all lunch sizes when I specially asked for the dinner menu. He should have clarified or let me know that they only served lunch sizes at the moment. It doesn't matter anyway because the food was not good. ___________________________ Now let's talk about the taste: I get so confused when I see people say things taste "authentic". And I've just come to realize that I can't trust Yelp reviews among this area in Missouri. The spring rolls were just lettuce with clear noodles and the clear rice wrap. Pad kee mow (with chicken) which I ordered in a spice 3 out 4 was more like a 1. It had a weird distinctive fish taste. There were barely any veggies in it. Chicken fried rice with huge chunks of chicken was just not very kid friendly in my opinion and tasted like nothing. Tom yum soup tasted like tomato soup. We ordered a level 2 out of 4 in spice. But this was honestly the best part of the whole meal if anything. Crispy egg rolls came out last and was just fried piece of nothing inside. Thai tea was good. You really can't mess up Thai tea or you just should not even open a Thai restaurant. ___________________________ Like I said at the beginning of this very long Yelp review. I hate that I am giving this place a 3. But I drove an hour and a half to go to this restaurant and they did not deliver. I was pretty upset at how below mediocre the food is here and how high the ratings are. I'm Korean and I have tried so many amazing Thai foods all over the US. And this was NOT it. I'll be trying another Thai establishment in the area when I'm back in town.

Cherie N.

Yelp
Amazing food! Friendly service. Cool vibe. 100 out of 100! We had pad kee mow, yellow curry and pad see ew. All very yummy. Crab Rangoons and Pot Stickers were delish.

Yelp
First time here when family came into town and wanted Thai. Like how the house has been converted to function as a restaurant. Plenty of staff to provide good service. We made a reservation as we had a party of seven and a toddler. Worked out well as we were in our own room which gave the little one more room to move around and make noise. Had several appetizers to share and the crab rangoons were the best I have ever had. Spring rolls we ok. I had the Pad Thai beef with a spice level of 4. It was not as spicy as I predicted but it was great texture and flavor. We will return.

Emma G.

Yelp
The food was excellent and very fresh. I have visited numerous times in each time has been lovely. The customer service is very good as well and they're able to answer questions if you have any.
google avatar

Steve K.

Yelp
Ordered pork egg rolls and panang curry, medium heat. Egg rolls came to me cold same time the curry came out (was supposed to be an appetizer, but whatever). They took them back and I watched the lady jamb her finger into one to see if it was cold while she headed back to the kitchen. They can back and were the same ones that both me and the lady jammed our fingers in to test the temperature, but they were definitely cooked- to a crisp. The curry was oily and really didn't have much flavor. It was also EXRREMELY oily for a curry. Maybe this was a bad night, but it was gross. I ate the chicken and some of the vegetables, but the curry just wasn't tasty at all. I was hungry after working all day and this sure was a disappointment tonite.
google avatar

Bill W.

Yelp
We ordered 3 items. Paneng, stir fried rice with pineapple and Pad Thai. The Paneng (sp) came out more like Red Curry than with any peanut flavor. We were a little disappointed. The Stir fry was pretty good. The Pad Thai was also pretty good. We have been to lots and lots of Thai places and in spite of our enthusiastic hope for a super-doooer restaurant, it just was not. Maybe it was an off day for them. The staff were all great! So, not sure what happened that day. Give them a try and see if it suits your palate.

Yelp
I've been to Springfield twice and both times included super satisfying stops at Rama Thai! The first time I went with my friend who highly recommended it and I got the Mango Curry. Being new to Rama, I ordered it spice level three (of four) which was nice and spicy, but I still added some extra spice from the spice tray. The second time I went with my partner and I got the Pumpkin Curry at a spice level four and it was absolutely fantastic. Where the Mango Curry was sweet and refreshing from the tropical fruit, the Pumpkin Curry was especially savory and comforting. Both times I also got the Golden Bags which are fantastic little spiced potato-filled purses. They get fried to perfection and come with a yummy little dipping sauce. During my visits we also had spring rolls that were solid and fresh, as well as crispy tofu which was good if you're in the mood for it. The Rama Thai entree my partner got was slathered in a rich peanut sauce--almost too thick and rich that it took over everything? He said he'd try something else next time. 13/10 would absolutely recommend to a friend (and Yelp!). The restaurant is located in what was formerly a house which adds to the unique experience.

Yelp
Been here several times and it's pretty popular among my coworkers. The service is amazing, the lady is always so sweet. The food is very fresh- we've had the crab ragoon, pad see ew, drunken noodles, Thai tea, and the sampler. Everything very tasty! They have a nice outdoor patio we enjoy our food on, we'll keep coming

Zoe R.

Yelp
Great place! One of the most unique yet consistent flavors in Springfield. Service was very kind and willing to answer all questions about the menu. I loved the ambience of being in a non-traditional store front. Had the crabrangoons and they were delicious as was the pad Thai. The green curry was delicious but even with a spice level one, it was hot!

Nan 1.

Yelp
Best noodles on the planet drunken noodle are better than being stuck for real absolutely amazing
