Ramada by Wyndham Williams Lake

I have in the past thought of Ramada as reliably pretty upscale as hotels go. This RAMADA fails miserably. First off and very bluntly, it was just flat out dirty. The carpeting throughout looked as though it had neve been cleaned. The associated food service was wrapped only around India cuisine. Not bad but if I wanted to be in India I'd go there. When I go to a food service in a hotel I expect a food selection which is not entirely wrapped around one rather unique style. The elevator was slow and very small. Two people two bags and that was it. So you had to wait sometimes more than two attempts to be able to get in. The shower was ridiculous. Rather than a curtain it had been up styled to a clear glass wall which ran about 2/3 rds of the length of what was probably at one time a tub. Problem was, to turn the water on you had to go all the way into the falling water while trying to get the setting to something that was neither too cold or too hot. Crazy! Maybe that's what some India showers are like though my experience there would not support that. In short - there's two hotels less than 1/4 mile down the road that are probably better.

Please do not stay here, there is not much that I can say that doesn’t just echo the complaints of other reviewers, it is bad. From the moment you walk in you are hit with this overwhelming smell and a hot and humid stuffiness that just makes you want to walk right out the door again. The elevator was out of order which might have been a good thing according to other reviewers who say it should be decommissioned. We took all of our bags up FOUR STORIES in a somehow even smellier staircase. The layout of the rooms is confusing and we couldn’t find our room for a solid few minutes whilst bumbling around the halls, sometimes they just skip room numbers which can be found down random dead ends on the other side of the floor. There were stains all over the carpet and it was incredibly uncomfortable and stuffy, we had to open the window, not that it made much of a difference. We were in and out of the room in about five minutes as we simply could not stay here, it also looked like the kind of hotel to have bedbugs. For $200 dollars a night this was extremely disappointing from the Ramada name, while it is called a Ramada it hardly lives up to the standard set by the brand. It’s Williams lake so of course you shouldn’t expect a five star experience, but still, do not stay here. This was incredibly disappointing and we will not be coming there again, we we recommend strongly neither do you. We moved to Best Western which was miles better and we were able to stay the night in a clean and not stuffy room. The hotel is very tired the rooms ok but carpets filthy. Beds are very good though.|It is a budget hotel so overall ok.|The biggest problem for me though was breakfast on paper plates with wooden cutlery. Never ever come across that before and to my mind is totally wrong. |Reception was tired and scruffy but the lady who checked us in was lovely

This hotel is well past its best before date. Everything is well worn. Carpets need replacing. Walls need painting. Fixtures need updating. And most of all, it needed a deep clean. I will not be back.

I chose the Ramada because, well, it's a RAMADA. But this is a Ramada in name only, and boy, oh boy, did it under deliver. The lady at the front desk was very kind, when I called to make the reservation they were also very kind. But let's get into the rooms. The room was pretty terrible, dirty walls, carpet, smudges, and stains throughout. The place smelled like air freshener and cigarettes. There's clearly someone smoking in the hotel. My guess would be that they smoke in the elevator for some reason. But the bed was clean and very comfortable! which is good because I went there to sleep. Next time, I will definitely be choosing another hotel, but I mean, we're in Williams Lake and not Vegas, so I don't know what I was expecting.I got a good sleep out of it. That's really all I can ask for.

Hotel is in need of some serious love. Not many options in Williams Lake, stay here if you can't get a room at the Best Western. ||||Furniture is showing it's age, hotel rooms are dark and ours had a very musty smell. Even found a mouse trap in the bathroom under the very beat up looking counter.||||Breakfast was subpar at best. Hard boiled eggs were clearly from previous days breakfast, yokes had gone black. ||||Time for some reno's as this does not meet the standards of previous Ramada or Wyndham properties I have stayed at.

Having a separate bedroom was kind of nice. The room is spacious, clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall a great stay. Would stay here again!

Kajal was amazing with accommodating my disabled grandmother taking any issue with the utmost care and even coming to look at rooms with me to make sure they were suitable for her. Highly recommend staying here

Older Hotel Nice staff Nice bed I had a suite, big room Good was good in the restaurant

A good, decent hotel. Highlights (and lows): -WIFI: ground level yes. Other levels, no -Small but fast elevator -Fitness room decent, Jacuzzi...worth it -Parking: hilly and awkward but doable -Breakfast: normal food in a comfy setting. Went online for a cheaper deal, same hotel...recommended -Suite for 6: Imagine The Brady Bunch bedroom for the sisters, just updated and comfy queen-sized beds...ok for our group but awkward if you want privacy (unless that's not your thing, non-judging) -Nice bathroom with a glass door shower, water pressure good Otherwise, good. Worth considering!

The Ramada is my go to when visiting Williams Lake on business. The staff is friendly and good humoured. The rooms are clean and the location makes it easy to get in and out of Williams Lake. My only problems (and they are quite minor) is that the rooms could use an update and the elevator is small and feels a little claustrophobic.

The reserved room wasn't ready till 7 pm, when it was finally ready it was poorly cleaned ( there was thick dark hair on the bathroom floor, a kleenex stuck to the door (I dont even want to know with what, and chips on the floor when I opened the fridge door). A horribly dirty room, with a wonderful view of a bunch of airconditioner/heating units, which also ran all night. Just an awful experience.

Great place to stay passing through! Rooms are clean and updated, beds are comfy, staff is super helpful. Would have 4.5 stars but I can only give full stars. The gym was horrific. Old, crusty half working pieces of equipment. Which was a disappointment. But they have steam rooms and a jacuzzi. This is my only complaint about this place. Otherwise would recommend.

pros: - good wifi - cookies at night - light and bright updated interior - free cooked breakfast - comfy beds without the creepy hotel bedspread... their duvets are white and clean - location - I like being right across the road from Scout Island! cons: - no gym, despite saying it has one online? They offered me passes to a private gym, but were actually out of them :( - changed towel every day, despite me hanging them up on the racks - not so green. room i stayed in was a bit smallish, but comfy. people were very friendly, and helpful. great value - will stay here again, and recommend it to friends.

Parking may appear slightly tricky at the wrong time of year if you have a trailer or camper, as the hotel is located up a bit of an incline after a tricky intersection. However, if you've already traveled this far thru Canada, then I doubt you'll have an issue with it. The parking lot is spacious with additional parking room on the other side of the liquor store/ sports bar. That also leads to the only bad thing about this hotel; it's near a liquor store and sports bar. It wasn't loud, but some unsavory characters hung around the vehicles. Breakfast wasn't free, but it wasn't expensive and had the normal items. I had bacon, eggs, hash browns, etc. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Host was nice and helpful; she even put my cooler of salmon in the restaurant's freezer for the night. Sports bar next door wasn't bad for dinner; had a full bar and a few beers on tap. Restaurant in the hotel as well, but I didn't eat there for dinner. Tim Horton's and gas station across the street. Walmart nearby.
