Got better after a slow start, staff were super helpful. Room was a good size with all the amenities you'd expect. Dinner was good value with two courses for $49. Food was cooked to perfection.

We had a wonderful experience, the room (King Spa Suite) was absolutely amazing - huge and well maintained. The old-style charm with the refurbished interiors and paintwork etc. was just lovely. The staff was very attentive and took great care of us. It was my husband's birthday so they gave us a complimentary sparkling wine in our room too which was a sweet touch. The hotel food (Diplomat Bar and Grill) was phenomenal. Overall, we had a pleasant stay. The location was great, prices were good and we felt the accommodation and the food both provided value for money, cleanliness was super, and the noise level was just right - not too loud and great ambience. No complaints!

The hotel could be upgraded to better standards.......service could be better. 1. We ordered for an extra towel which unfortunately got delivered next day. 2. There is no buffet breakfast and the options are limited at that price. 3. We were promised underground covered parking, but unfortunately the parking code is given to every customer and parking underground is based on first-come-first-serve basis --- this was never told to us while booking. 4. The bathroom was a bit suffocating. 5. All the floors open up to the central lounge-cum-dining area. Hence there will be noise most of the time.

We had our daughters wedding reception at the Diplomat last weekend and were very pleased with how it went. Delicious food very friendly service, nothing was a problem for Katherine to organise |We stayed following and the rooms were beautifully presented and very clean, yummy breakfast the following morning.|Overall a great experience.

Great location! Lovely foyer. Breakfast at $22 was good value. Room was quiet, clean, modern and good value for what we paid. There’s a pool and gym which we didn’t use.

We recently held our staff meeting at Hotel Diplomat and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. I arrived early, and everything was already set up and ready to go. Within minutes of walking into the function room, our server introduced herself, walked me through the projector and audio setup, and made me feel instantly confident that the night would run smoothly. The food service was right on time, and every dietary requirement was thoughtfully planned—not just a token option, but well-considered dishes that impressed my team. From start to finish, everything was seamless, professional, and stress-free. I would recommend Hotel Diplomat in a heartbeat for anyone looking to host a function or event.

For anyone with any sensibility about scent/fragrance at all, this is definitely NOT the hotel for you. A foul, synthetic fragrance - somewhat like a cheap and nasty aerosol toilet spray - is pumped into ALL common areas through the ventilation system. I was told the hotel actually pays for this disgusting addition! I for one, do not like my access to plain old oxygen interfered with. As an Aromatherapist of 20+ years' experience, I find it offensive this was done without my permission, without giving me any way to avoid it and in such a heavy handed and tactless manner AND with a toxic, non-natural substance. Mercifully, the foul stench, which infuses your clothes so you smell it after you have left the hotel, was not pumped into the room ventilation, enabling me to continue with my booking. But checking in, eating breakfast and moving through the hotel is to be done with your breath held and was a significant disincentive to enjoy the bar and our happy hour drinks. I developed a rash from this toxin and I was only there two nights. On a positive note, the beds are comfy, there's plenty of hot water and the included breakfast is actually very good. The hotel is on an island of main roads, so traffic sounds are present, including truck exhaust breaks, even when everything is closed. But we easily walked everywhere and slept well. We appreciated opening windows, plenty of free secure parking and the wonderful service by Saede the supervisor, who is a really nice guy and a true hospitality professional and did his best to provide us the best room for our needs I would stay again IF they removed the stench.

Very comfortable, great location, and the staff were very helpful and accommodating. We visited with a very young baby and they worked hard to make the stay as easy for us as possible. I could tell that they took pride in their hospitality!
