The check-in process took around 45 minutes, and when finally done, there was confusion over getting our bags to the room. The room was big enough, and though a little old-fashioned, it was comfortable. The "sea-facing" view is mostly ruined by a cluster of shops on the beach and the garbage strewn around. The bathroom was clean and the shower products were of good quality. The shower area was very cramped inside the glass walls, but it always smelled of retained moisture due to negligible ventilation. At least two water bottles should be provided in the room during check-in. When I called housekeeping to send two bottles later on, only one was sent - I hope drinking water isn't part of the hotel's water conservation strategy. The large number of homeless people right next to the hotel wall made me quite unsure of how safe it would be to visit the beach after evening. The access through the hotel isn't much better as it's only open 7-7 during the day, and opens directly in front of a crowd of vendors. There is no way to relax with a beach view from inside the hotel as the boundary wall blocks most of the view and the poolside seats are very limited. The staff at the front desk should also be more aware about basic information regarding Mumbai traffic and common routes, as I was referred to the travel desk for all queries in a bid to capture business. My only highlight of the stay was the experience at Shooters Bar, the drinks are great and our host (I forget his name) was very helpful - definitely recommend Shooters to anyone looking to unwind in a beautifully designed bar. Everything else needs to be improved, because right now this property didn't feel very 5-stars to me.
