Ramada Yichang Hotel

Stayed from July 3–9. The weather was hot during our stay. I didn’t use many of the hotel’s facilities, as most of my time was spent attending meetings at a nearby hotel. However, the ground floor was convenient and provided easy access to a convenience store. The location was practical, and overall, it was a comfortable base for my trip.

Checked in Ramada Yichang due to the convenient location in downtown. Front desk asked for cash for first night due to credit card machine not working but agreed to refund once the issue is fixed. We were asked for another cask deposit 2nd day due to the machine still not functioning. We were later asked for full cash payment on all 10 days stay the 2nd day afternoon as the hotel can not accept credit card. After complaining to the hotel during the Chinese new year holidays, we decided to call Wyndham US customer care to escalate this issue. A case number was filed and we were told the hotel will follow up to address this issue but have not heard any feedback yet. Hopefully we will get the cask back with the credit card payment issue addressed.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights whilst visiting the 3 gorges dam project. The hotel on appearances looks grand but very dated. On arrival no one helped with our bags and the reception speak no English whatsoever, which is common in China, however even worth a translator I struggled to communicate. There seems to be nothing nearby for food and drinks there were just a couple of little shops. We went into the bar which was very dark and badly lit and stood there for what felt like ages no one approached us or tried to serve us so we left in the end. The room was very small and badly lit which gave a very gloomy effect, bizarrely there was a huge window into the shower! The doors to the wardrobe did not close properly so light inside was on all night. It was extremely hot in the room even with air conditioning, (I guess it didn’t work but I had no chance of getting into a conversation about it), which made our stay quite uncomfortable, we were glad we were there only 2 nights. The positives were the price approximately £44 for 2 nights and the view from the room over the park was pleasant.

Due to the night club on the 2nd floor, the lifts sometimes you may get a strong smoke smell. The night club entrance is exposed to passengers if the lift door is open, the night club environment is not suitable for children to see if you travel with family.Facilities are old but clean, good location. Housekeeping teams are good, but the front desk needs more training.Overall, Ramada CBD is still a good choice if you are looking for international chains with certain service standards.

Hotel is in dire need of renovation. Old & rundown though clean.Location is OK esp. Looking for some Halal food.Night food market close by so food readily available. 45 minutes away from Airport so quite far away.HS train station is close to hotel.

The reception desk staff spoke English and were very helpful. Our suite was comfortable and our request for a utensil was met promptly. Breakfast was good. We had a most pleasant stay and we will come back to this hotel when we visit Yichang again.

The Ramada is one of the nicest , central hotels in Yi Chang. The rooms are very clean and adequate providing for all of your needs and there is a very large gym . It is not much more expensive then other hotels in Yi Chang but it is worth spending the extra money as the service is outstanding.There is an executive lounge and two bedroom apartments for families. I stayed in a twin room with my son and it had lovely park views. We had originally booked another hotel which I wasn’t happy with so I moved hotels at short notice and the Ramada staff (especially Judy who spoke very good English) was so helpful in finding me a room. As Australians travelling to Yi Chang before our river cruise this was an overnight stay before embarking onto the ship however my husband left his iPhone in a taxi and the staff were so helpful and we managed to get it back at 4pm the next day before our cruise. The hotel staff helped us and let us have a late checkout until 4 pm with no extra charge which was amazing as this took the stress out of everything . They also ensured that we arrived to our cruise on time , driving us to the terminal. I would stay at this hotel again as everything is made easy. Thank you Ramada staff and Judy .
