A scenic getaway, far from the madding crowds and pollution !
We had planned to visit this resort with my 86 year old mother in law and had a lot of doubts, but the staff made all efforts and made videos to show us that there were not many stairs to negotiate and even arranged a wheelchair for us .
We have stayed in many forts turned into heritage hotels but this is the most scenic, because of its lakeside location.
The view from their gazebo on a promontory is breathtaking .
All the rooms face the valley and mountains , the luxury suites which are on the first floor give a wider view. You can enjoy this even from your bed because the large french windows open directly into the balcony.
Comfortable rooms but no TV , and surprisingly you don’t miss it .
The menu is a bit restricted because it is a small place with few rooms , but the food was always freshly made. I wish there was a small printed menu everyday , just so that we knew what was for dessert!
The ruins of the old fort have been preserved and seamlessly merged with the modern architecture. That adds to the charm.
The small bonfires for every family under a starlit night was amazing. We could actually see the stars , which has become a rarity in Delhi!
Must add that the owners took personal interest in your comfort and were very warm and forthcoming!
Hope they buy more forts and we will always be their guest !!
Will definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a short getaway !
