Rambal

Every day a different menu. On weekends, as pleasant as they are, they enrich them with other more succulent recipes. Going back to the Madrid of before, enjoying a first-class product that the owner/cook is responsible for searching throughout the country in organic gardens, family farms. You have to visit them. A discovery from my last visit to Madrid 😍

I visited Rambal with my work colleagues, and we all had an amazing time! The restaurant offers an impressive fixed menu with three diverse dishes and a dessert – perfect for sampling authentic Spanish flavors without breaking the bank. What stood out most was the quality of ingredients. You can tell they’re committed to using top-notch produce in every dish, which really enhances the flavors. Our server also provided a delightful background of each dish and its ingredients, adding a nice cultural touch that enriched our meal. Service was fast and attentive, though the dessert did take a bit longer than expected. Nonetheless, it was worth the wait! Overall, Rambal is an excellent spot for anyone looking to enjoy traditional Spanish cuisine with a great vibe and affordable prices.

The food was delicious, and the service was very good, but there are a few things to comment on. First, the place had no air con, just a bunch of fans placed around the room which is not ideal when it’s 40°C outside. Second, when going to the bathroom, beware, as one of the stalls had no toilet paper, and out of the two sinks there were one had no water and the other no soap, which complicates washing your hands. I will however not deny that aside from that the toilets were very clean. It is also unfortunately not possible to take away whatever you don’t finish. It’s the house policy. When asked why, the (presumed) owner of the restaurant kindly explained that it was because he’d seen a study that said about 85% of takeaway food was thrown away. While that may well have been true, I personally think that the client should be able to do whatever they want with what they paid for, especially when you’re paying €30-40 per menu per person, which isn’t particularly cheap. For the sake of fairness I must add that while you aren’t able to take away, you can stay at your table the whole afternoon if need be. On a more positive side, the food came quick, and the servers are happy to help in any way they can

I think we ordered the wrong dishes and the prices were exorbitant 🤯 18€ for a salad that was overpowered by the blue cheese and the 25€ for 6 tiny chops and a massive portion of chips… this place is largely for posing 🏴‍☠️

Wow. Amazing food, we got the meal of the day, it was 3 courses, the chef came out and explained each dish, and it was spectacular. The service was solid and the price was extremely reasonable. Check this place out, you won’t regret it.

Loved this place, an absolute must if you visit Madrid. We were there in the afternoon for the ‘casserole’ of the day. 20 Euros per person for a truly fantastic three course meal. There’s no menu and no choice just the menu of the day. First course was massive but incredibly tasty tuna salad with lots of fresh local ingredients. Then came a huge pot of chorizo, potato and ham stew soaked up with fresh crusty bread. There were four of us and 6 hours later and I’m still full. Again local ingredients and so tasty. For pudding there was a Spanish style bread and butter pudding, it was nice but then I was stuffed. I’m a big bloke and a big eater, this was wonderful hearty, healthy meal that tasted fantastic. The staff were all very good, great service and the chef delivered our casserole with a little explanation of where the ingredients were from. I’ll be back to Madrid one day and I’ll be back here for the amazing stew.
