We were there later Friday morning. No wait. Ordering is at a counter, Self seating. Plenty of seating in the dining area. The decor was simple, but interesting. Nothing fancy, just simple and clean. I ordered the Santa Fe omelet. It had crisp bacon and some of the best, and hottest, green chili over had in a restaurant. My wife ordered Carne Adovada. It looked like the red chili might have been added after cooking the meat rather than being simmered together. The red chili was pretty mild, at least in comparison to the green. The dish was tasty, but didn't compare with the green chili of the omelet. My wife doesn't handle spicy as well so it worked out for us. If you can handle the heat, come get something with the green chili. There are milder choices if your partner can't. If you can't handle the heat, there are better choices.

Fantastic food. The green chili is actually got some heat to it, Unfortunately so many restaurants in Santa Fe has been ruined by tourists who come crying to their mommy after having green chili that actually has anything resembling bite to it. This is good food appropriately spiced in generous quantities. Definitely check this place out. Check out my post history. You'll notice that I almost never post anything positive about any restaurant. This is the exception.

First time enjoying this small cafe . WOW I was impressed. I had the bacon breakfast burrito with Christmas. The green was my favorite spicy and flavorful. The red was more mild but rustic and fresh (I liked the heat level of the green ) The burrito was perfect, great bacon , perfect eggs , and home cut potatoes . A lot of friendly regulars was a plus . This will be a frequent stop now when I’m in Santa Fe ( live in Albuquerque) . The place is as good as the Burrito Lady . In the way out I grabbed one of there homemade baked goods on the counter and it was just as good . Oatmeal cookies with pinion , not too sweet , fresh , and perfectly soft .

For about 8 bucks I just finished one heck of a green chile, chorizo and egg breakfast burrito. I’m a big fan, this was some real homemade chorizo too. They have an order up front menu and plenty of tables inside, there is no outside seating however. Overall pretty solid and I will definitely be back for another burrito.

Google
Delicious breakfast at this cute place. Ordering was fast, and the food was quick also. I had a hand held green xhile bacon breakfast burrito and my partner had a smothered Carne adovada breakfast burrito. They had a nice layer of egg, perfectly cooked potatoes, cheese and in my case the bacon was done just right, not fatty and not over cooked. The green chile was yummy, a little spicy on its own maybebut in the burrito it was a win. The red chile on my partners burrito wasn't bitter, which is often the case with oven dried red, and very good. Only one small issue, the adovada had a big chunk of cartilage.

Google
Very disappointing experience. I ordered lunch to pick up as had never been before. I ordered green Chile stew and a cherry turnover. The stew had very little potatoes and pretty much no meat at all. It was all broth. The turnover must have been old, as it crumbled when I touched it and, the very minimal cherry filling it had, was dried up. Ended up throwing the whole thing away. Disappointing and pricey.

You have to check out Rambling Cafe! Why? 1. Fantastic made-to-order food 2. Smart friendly staff 3. Good coffee 4. Spacious quiet atmosphere makes it a refuge for locals and travelers. 5. And huge portions

Google
Excellent food. Super quiet atmosphere. The decor is very Santa Fe and the food is the main attraction! I grew up in Las Cruces so I have a good understanding of New Mexican cuisine. This food is right up there if not better than most others touting their authentic cuisine at a top dollar experience. Ramblin Cafe keeps it real with real New Mexican homemade tortillas and from scratch Chile sauces. Truly a gem in the rough. I had the enchiladas with ground beef and Christmas sauce (red and green Chile). The corn tortillas were exactly how I like it. Flat, lightly fried topped with a ton of ground beef and cheese. One of the best green Chile sauces I’ve ever tasted. This is a must come and enjoy places here in Santa Fe. I’ll be back and will highly recommend. Thank you!!

Yelp
Some of the best and hottest chile in town! You order at the front counter and service is always the best! Its a small cafe style restaurant. You can't go wrong with the green chile cheeseburger for lunch!

Yelp
Quick service excellent breakfast. Took my fiance here for breakfast she enjoyed it very much. I love their pancakes. Always happy walking out of here, minus the annoying texass fan's idiotic comments.....Boomer!!!

Yelp
This place is a hidden little restaurant in Santa Fe. It has descent space inside and service is faster than I expected. Restaurant is very clean and they constantly disinfecting and cleaning after customers. Prices are little overpriced but it's expected in Santa Fe for the cost of living. Big entrees with sides. Staff is very friendly. The green Chile is a must and it's definitely hot and recommend to get it on the side. The beverages come in bottles. The enchiladas I would definitely not recommend them but the other breakfast dishes I would recommend.

Yelp
Great food..!!! Did not disappoint... wonderful flavor, relaxing atmosphere, variety on menu, fresh ingredients....and the art inside was lovely.

Danielle V.

Yelp
This is a local spot and my personal favorite for breakfast burritos! The staff is always so sweet, and the green chile is out of this world, the perfect balance of heat and flavor! And they always accommodate my dietary restrictions, which is rare for a hole in the wall. I'm a ramblin' fan for life
google avatar

Yelp
Best breakfast burritos in town!!! Such a great hidden gem! The service is amazing and the food is always on point!

Yelp
The food here is exceptional. I have traveled all over Mexico and the American Southwest, and this restaurant ranks in the top few for flavors. The red chile is tangy and hot, the green rich and equally spicy. The spinach quesadilla may be the best thing on the menu. Every time I am in Santa Fe I come here multiple times. Don't let the casual environment fool you--these people take so much pride in what they prepare.
google avatar

Slade N.

Yelp
Best breakfast burrito in town! Also the green chile is the one to get. Funny small and modest interior. Has a real family restaurant vibe
google avatar

Yelp
The food just isn't good. Very very EXTREMELY bland as if they just put 0 seasoning in it. I went with my family and we all had horrible meals. I took two bites and couldn't finish. The numerous 5 star reviews on here are interesting, as in fake or from tourists who don't know what good red Chile tastes like

Ron K.

Yelp
Definition of a hole-in-the-wall diner. But locals seems to love it and the breakfast is tasty.
google avatar

Yelp
I ordered the Indian Taco with two eggs over easy on it. Mother of God it was terrific! My wife ordered the stuffed sopapilla with green chile. She is from New Mexico and grew up on green chile. She found the sopapilla too hot and couldn't eat it. I told her I was going to embarrass her with this to her friends. But let's move on to the Indian Taco. I ordered this with red chile. It was delish!!!! What I love about Yelp is it levels the playing field for restaurants. This mom and pop place is a location I would have never found without the internet. I've bookmarked it so I can go back there my next trip!
google avatar

Yelp
Horrible, i asked if the orange juice was fresh squeezed he said yes, It wasnt. Then i ordered the eggs with sausage. I had to spit the egg out on the plate cuz it was cold and still had the raw egg around the yolk. I said excuse me but you have to cook the eggs! He said. But you ordered sunny side up, i said huh? That doesnt mean you dont cook the eggs! What the hell???? I had to leave, be careful eating here , they lie about the OJ being fresh squeezed ( like im not gonna be able to tell?) And they dont know how to cook eggs, who doesnt know how to cook an egg? I cannot begin to understand the high star rating. I guess im used to eating better. Dont come here and if u do beware !

Roderic L.

Yelp
I go here regularly. It's all about the food. I like my Chile super hot, but not horsemen's haven hot and this place NAILS IT!

Yelp
Such a wonderful discovery, I read about this place on another social media site from a few friends and finally decided to pop in to check it out for myself. The burrito I had (I normally get a Chorizo Breakfast Burrito with Green Chile) was amazing! The Chile was on point, so full of flavor and spicy! It's counter service, but they are super quick and bring your food to your table. It's definitely a hole in the wall type of place, yet well worth the visit. The photos on the wall have some great local boxers pictured with the owners so it gives that "home style" vibe. The prices are great, I'm afraid if I say anything more about this place it will explode with popularity...but I want them to succeed so I can't hold back! I highly recommend coming here to check it out for yourself.

Yelp
One of the best breakfasts in Santa Fe. The green chili was outstanding. Great find!

Yelp
This place has the best breakfast burritos and red chile I've ever had. The other food options are also great but the burritos are so good that I almost always get them. Both the red and green chile are on the spicier side, which is part of what makes them great. I usually get the breakfast burrito smothered with Christmas. It's one of my all time favorite meals. Now that I've moved out of Sant Fe I spend all year looking forward to going to ramblin and getting their breakfast burrito. The service is also great and you can tell it's a family owned business and the staff really cares about their customers. If you want to try some of the best red and green chile in New Mexico, check out Ramblin Cafe.
google avatar

Bridgette D.

Yelp
Good food good service, we order everything on the menu is good breakfast or lunch green and red very flavorful red hot green real hot

Gay M.

Yelp
I love their ground beef tacos that come on lightly fried corn tortillas instead of those hard preformed ones that so many local places use.

Yelp
This is only my first time here, but this place seems great. It's no-frills, and some might call it a "hole in the wall," but unlike many places with that label, it's very clean. Ramblin' Cafe is small and locally owned, and clearly it's primary clientele is locals. I ordered a bacon green chile burrito, smothered, and I wasn't disappointed. The potatoes were technically home fries (versus grated hash browns), but they combined the best of mashed potatoes and crispy potatoes. The green chile is VERY HOT, and I love spicy food, and have lived in NM for years. This green chile was hotter than the green chile at Horseman's Haven, probably because habañero is added for flavor. Prices are inexpensive for Santa Fe, with sandwich and burger meals, which come with a choice of fries, chips, salad, or coleslaw, run $7-10. I'm pretty sure I want to come back to try the tostadas!

Yelp
This place was amazing, the red Chile was fantastic, some of the best I've ever had in my life. I was so impressed by how much it tasted like my grandparents cooking. It was just a great reminder of my childhood and memories at my grandparents house. I left feeling full and very satisfied.

Joshua B.

Yelp
Sad to see that nobody is wearing a mask when I walked in. Owner has decided that because they get "tested regularly" that they don't have to wear a mask. He also stated they wear a mask when preparing food as there is someone right behind him preparing food without a mask.

John G.

Yelp
Best place in Santa Fe! They have the best green chili in town. Everything they make is delicious. Owners are very nice. You will not be disappointed.
google avatar

Edwin G.

Yelp
I was in town from Texas, stopped by for some breakfast and glad I did. The young lady at the front was very sweet and the food was top notch, if I'm ever back in town, I know where my go to breakfast spot is at!
google avatar

Kylie S.

Yelp
Inexpensive and delicious and wholesome. Would go here a million more times if I lived around here.

Yelp
Yum! This place is affordable, quick, and really good! I came here on my lunch break and was pleasantly surprised with how fast it was. I saw the majority order and take to go but I pulled up a seat and enjoyed the scene. Really dig the guacamole and salsa. Salsa was spicy and had a good bite. Simply put, this family operated place makes good food. I got three chicken tacos and they could have put some rice and beans but that's alright, I'll give them a pass since they were muyyyyyy bueno ha. I think if you are looking for a good spot off the plaza and another "New Mexican" alternative that you haven't been too, I would definitely try this place.

Bo R.

Yelp
Really excellent in every regard!! New favorite for sure! I had the huevos rancheros with green, and it was very tasty! The green chili has a respectable kick, but it's not overpowering. The beans were whole beans and had a quality and pleasing flavor that pays homage to the ideal taste that our beans here in NM should feature; tastes like someone learned how to make grandmas perfect beans... I asked for a tortilla on the side but the portion is substantial so I will ask for a 2nd tortilla next time - worth it too, their tortillas have the texture and taste that again remind me of eating at someone's house and loving it. Definitely off the main road (perfect) so use your GPS when you first go bc it is tucked back in to a neighborhood. When I drove by I thought "that place is in a terrible location..." but it totally doesn't matter - the food is too good for them to not be successful. They could open a place anywhere and make money... Can't wait to go back! Nice atmosphere Lots of tables Very clean The don't have fountain drinks... only in cans which doesn't work for me but that's only bc I have a reaction to the preservatives in canned soda, plus the caffeine stims my bowel, so I got mine to go (sorry I know that's personal but if you care enough to read this far you need to know I'm honest)

Edward C.

Yelp
Excellent value. The green chile sauce kicks A$$. Our go to place for a breakfast burrito with chorizo smothered in green chili sauce and added raw onion and avocado on top. Heaven.
google avatar

C M.

Yelp
This place is like eating your grandma's cooking in a cute New Mexican cafe. I've not been this impressed with a red chili recipe in a long time. The Carne adovada is outstanding. The eggs are cooked to order and are served perfectly!! I'm definitely going to be a regular here, now that I've found this yummy place.

Jolene L.

Yelp
This is a hidden jewel in Santa Fe. It's worth searching out. Family owned and family run, super friendly owners. I'm so happy to see that they are working through this difficult time. Had breakfast outside this morning and I would highly recommend it. It's these small businesses that we have to take care of in Santa Fe

Terri W.

Yelp
I love this place -- the food is terrific and the service is wonderful. I'm so glad this family run business has managed to survive and thrive in this climate. I am a pasty gringa so I have to get my green chile on the side -- for me it is HOT! and so delicious. I always get the same thing (chicken tostadas, green on the side), but in reading these reviews I see I need to try the breakfast burrito next. It's a very short walk from my house, so I need to remember to get up from my desk in my home office and go pick up lunch more often. Love it!
google avatar

James R.

Yelp
I have never had better fish tacos, or service. this place rocks! They are always on timely and punctual with their deliveries as well. I highly recommend.
google avatar

Jay K.

Yelp
My first visit here was fantastic. Good service, excellent food, clean, and amazing value. The menu is pretty extensive, breakfast all day, sandwiches, salads , and desserts (they had oiñon brownies on the counter, that looked VERY tempting). I didn't get the hours but this appears to be a breakfast/lunch kinda place. Also not sure of their weekend hours. Located in a little, nondescript stripe mall on 2nd street.
google avatar

Warren L.

Yelp
Seriously everyone. I'm a breakfast burrito aficionado. That was the best breakfast burrito I ever had. WHERE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE RAMBLIN' CAFE!
google avatar

Bethany M.

Yelp
First time there today, got chicken tostadas. Really good & fresh. Only thing I'd change is to add more sour cream & guac. Good service, looking forward to going back. Tons of options on the menu.
google avatar

Matt A.

Yelp
This place is great. They serve breakfast all day. I had Huevos Rancheros w/ green. Excellent. The chile is great. Very spicy. Best I've had recently

Casey B.

Yelp
I got the Chile Relleno with red sauce. It's okay, but had to had some hot sauce. The flavor was extremely bland. I did appreciate the beans and rice.

Fiona B.

Yelp
Veggie burrito is so tasty! Very quick and helpful service. Would definitely recommend this place!

Bill L.

Yelp
Went to the pantry that I really like the food but long wait so I went to Ramblin'cafe and I will never eat breakfast at the pantry again this place has the best breakfast burrito I have ever had

Brent S.

Yelp
Just had the brisket burrito with green chile. Quite delicious. Don't let the no frills environment change your mind...if your desire is great tasting food. Green chile is authentic with a slight bite to it. I will be back.
google avatar

Travis B.

Yelp
Might be my new favorite...have been hitting the Pantry, which is delicious, however this place beats it, reasonably priced, quick in and out and the green chile has a bit more of that New Mexico heat!!!
google avatar

Tiffany H.

Yelp
Fantastic, friendly, family run place that has recently expanded. The tacos were amazing. Best I've had in a long long time! Great service too! There are a couple of tables outside if you are so inclined to soak up some sun.
google avatar

Andrew R.

Yelp
Good food, amazing value makes it 4 stars. You can find a better breakfast up the street at say one of my favorites (Counter Culture) but not at these prices. Nothing is more than $10 and the food is great for the price. The green chili on my omelet had nice heat, authentic. The bacon was very tasty and crispy the way I like it. The service was super fast and everyone there was very friendly. I suspect next time I'll go for classic Mexican food based on how good the green chili was. If you're looking for a good food at a super affordable price, Ramblin Cafe is a must.
google avatar

Roger A.

Yelp
Salty shredded beef tacos were horrible! I had to throw out the food. Flan did not have much taste or good texture to it also. We went there because it had a 4.5 rating and some people said the tacos were good. My friend who likes adding salt to salty Mc Donald's fries spit out the food. It's possible the tacos were over spiced and just tasted really salty to me. Either way I wish some one would have warned me prior to going. I'll just have to go back to El Parasol instead.
google avatar

Aviv Li S.

Yelp
The best hole in the wall in town. My faves are the carne adovada breakfast and the green chile cheeseburger.
google avatar

Eubie B.

Yelp
Staff takes a "when they feel like it" approach to quality, but on a good day they make one of the best breakfast burritos in town. Fortunately, you can reliably gauge the likely quality of your food by the state of the mountain of papas they keep warmed on the grill; big and fluffy = good, shriveled and burnt means it's going to be a McDonald's day.

Alfonso E.

Yelp
We ordered the Huevos rancheros, and breakfast burrito smothered. The food came out fast, portions were generous, and the chile delicious and hot. It is your basic mom-and-pop diner. The only thing is, the potatoes did not have much flavor. They were cooked well, but probably should've had some bacon drippings or something. Prices were very modest, will definitely go back again.

E E.

Yelp
Warm, friendly, fast service. Wonderful green and red chile! I have liked everything I have tried.

Robert R.

Yelp
This restaurant is great. Small family owned business excellent authentic chili fresh quick affordable and great portion every time.

Phil K.

Yelp
Some of the hottest green chili I have experienced since moving to New Mexico! If you like your green chili on fire, Ramblin' Cafe is a great choice. I enjoy hot and spicy food, but I had a breakfast burrito smothered in green which was so hot it distracted from the taste of the burrito. If I go back, I'll order my chili on the side. Prices were reasonable and the menu offered a good selection. The downside to this cafe was the poor kitchen ventilation that permeated greasy cooking order throughout the restaurant. Looking back into the kitchen I could see steam from the cooking surfaces rolling out from under the ventilation hoods. Maybe the ventilation fans were not turned on. When I returned home from my breakfast meeting at Ramblin' Cafe the smell of cooking grease was so powerful on my clothing that I had to shower and change clothes. The staff was friendly, service was efficient, portions were generous, and other than heat level, the food was decent.
