We just needed to crash for a few hours after driving all day. We arrived about 8pm to find friendly staff and a lovely, clean room. I loved the vintage MCM furniture and decor. The room was sweltering on arrival and the AC unit was only blowing warm air. Staff assured us it would take a few minutes to start blowing cold. It sure did, and we slept comfortably! I would stay again

This place is interesting. It feels like going back in time to the glory days of Route 66, still using old school metal keys instead of key cards, retro decor, and a general eschewing of modernity (about the only concessions to modern technology are that the TVs are modern flatscreens, there is wifi available, and each room does have a small fridge and microwave). The place is incredibly well maintained though (at least the room we stayed in) and kept clean, she's old but aging gracefully. The views are also stunning. If you want a room with all the modern amenities, go down the street to one of the chain hotels. If you want old school charm though, this is the place for you.

We were passing through and found this little gem. First of all we love motels! The problem is they are older because they usually don't build them anymore. So yes, this is older, smells a little like it and and outdated. However, we loved it! The room was very clean, shower looked like it had just been renovated and the refrigerator and microwave seemed to be new. Bed was comfortable and clean. If we are ever this way again, I would definitely stay at this motel. The 2 young men who checked me in were very kind.

Google
Thank you, Ramblin Rose! After a long day of driving this place was just what I was looking for - affordable, no frills, but all of the essentials (bed, shower, toilet, fridge, microwave). The room was clean. The air-con worked well. The young man who checked me in was friendly and courteous. Also very easy to find it just off the main road. Highly recommend!

Google
Clean and quiet retro place to stay right off historic route 66. Lots of parking and easy access to an ice maker and vending machines. The room was extremely clean and had modern amenities, but had a nostalgic vibe that I thought was very cool. I really enjoyed staying in this piece of history!

Google
Recent upgrade to rooms. New owners. Wonderful folks. Maintained well. Won't find bugs . Property is sprayed and groomed. Zero tolerance to problematic people. Quiet and easy sleeping. These new owners are always friendly. Sure you too will enjoy a stay here.

Stopped by very late night on my road trip home. Front desk was very personable and helpful. Room kinda reminded me of home nice and cozy. Very affordable place thru this town. Would visit again.

Google
The Rambling Rose does have a couple things going for it: it’s clean, and the location is convenient—just a mile south of I-40 on Historic Route 66. But beyond that, I’m not sure what all the rave reviews are about. The bed was incredibly uncomfortable—easily one of the worst I’ve ever slept on. I woke up multiple times during the night with a sore neck, and the pillows didn’t do me any favors either. The walls are paper thin. The neighbors conversations and TV were like we were in the same room. Also, there’s a lot of street noise and freight trains run right by the motel all night. Security is an issue as well. There’s no safety latch on the inside on the door. While there is a deadbolt, it can be accessed with a key which I’m certain the hotel manager has. So the thought of someone walking into my room while I slept was always in the back of my mind. The AC couldn’t hold a consistent temperature and needed constant adjusting, which turned into a bit of a nightly project. If your only priority is a clean room, this place might do the trick. But if you’re hoping for a good night’s sleep or even a bit of peace and quiet, I’d recommend looking elsewhere. I won’t be back.

Yelp
Easy check in, clean room, easy access and wonderful experience overall. Also in a sea of $100 plus rooms this $50 plus one was a refreshing breath of fresh air experience.

Yelp
The desk clerk was courteous. The room smelled and looked clean. But the towels were thin and small, like something they used to throw at us in my high school's locker room. But worst of all, shower faucet has been modified so that it can't be turned more than a few degrees past room temperature. Unforgivable. I chose the place after a 10 hour drive from San Francisco. I was trying to avoid the chain motels and give a local business a shot..Too bad. I sure was looking forward to a hot shower.

Yelp
Receptionist was very unhelpful. I let him know I'd be leaving a review detailing my experiences. He then refused to give me the keys to the room, laughed and said he didn't care as he had charged me anyway. Now have to waste my time getting the money back from booking website. Have no idea what the rooms are like but wouldn't go anywhere near a place that is happy to defraud its customers like this.

Yelp
Excellent stop. Clean Great menu and prices. Wonderful staff. Lots of amazing vintage photos of the history of war planes.

Yelp
This is a great little motel owned by a nice family who takes great pride in their business. There was a similar motel that was twice as much and we chose this one because it looked just as nice. The owners really did us a solid because we accidentally booked our stay for the night before we actually wanted to stay there and when we got in and they realized what had happened they were happy to make sure we had a nice room without a reservation for that night. That goes a long way in this day & age and really speaks to what kind of people they are! On to the room: First in the line of importance, the bed. It was a new pillow top and very comfy with clean soft sheets and a groovy new comforter. We both slept very good in this bed. These rooms have been updated and are cozy - including new carpet & nice decorative trim along the top of the room. The bathroom has been renovated. The shower was a nice marble shower with plenty of room to move around and the water got hot right away. The bathroom floor was a nice tile that looked like gray washed wood. The old "motel" towel racks have been removed & replaced with new ones and they put in a nice big mirror which was great. There was also a new toilet. The room had a larger refrigerator and microwave. And the coffee pot was new and really nice. There was also a 42" TV with cable and plenty of stations to watch and there was also a large closet & dressing area. When we were here the temperature got down into the lower 30's but the room heater & a/c worked great. (They told us to turn it on you had to flip the switch inside the door) This ended up being a great motel and we are very happy we decided to stay here and we would definitely stay here again! ...another 5 star experience!!

Yelp
Very clean place with vintage accents as well as a newer remodeled bathroom. I had flaked and booked the wrong day which could have been a disaster had it not been for this super kind family owned business. Rooms were super affordable, clean and they were so nice and attentive. Plus the motel is right on Route 66 as an added bonus. Would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
Old motel in Kingman, from an era bygone. Older gentleman and his wife seem to run it. He was very kind at check-in. Gave my little girl and I a first floor room as requested. Is it outdated a bit? Yes. However we got a good-night sleep, a hot shower and parking right in front of room for under $75usd. My daughter loved 3 Disney channels and an in room microwave and refrigerator. Dominoes delivers wicked fast. I do hope the lock in room 110 gets secured a bit more. The fan/air-conditioning unit was excellent for blocking all train noise. That was extremely helpful.
google avatar

Jim D.

Yelp
Noisy, noisy, noisy. Train 1/2 block away. Main street right in front of the poorly insulated building. The trains don't stop running until 11 PM. Then they start all over again at 4:30 AM. Cheap, but is it really worth the cost savings?

Yelp
DON'T STAY HERE!!! Cockroaches The owners watch everything you do. It's creepy. Said cockroaches were water bugs coming up from the sewer pipes and they wouldn't hurt me. I left

Yelp
Awesome bed, very clean rooms. Inexpensive not bad for the old Route 66 feel. Can't beat the price with a very friendly staff!

Bennet C.

Yelp
Clean, comfortable room. Quiet neighborhood. Friendly staff. Nice job on the included breakfast. Easy in/out. No complaints.

Trine N.

Yelp
We are so glad we chose this little gem. Convenient for our one night layover. The gentleman owner is as sweet and accommodating as can possibly be wished for. However, if you can't tolerate fluorescent lighting this is not the place for you. Everything else is cozy but these lights are hard to get use to. Hey! It's just one night. Clean and fresh. Great A/C's. WiFi. Extra pillows available. Can't beat the price. We'd do it again. Just hate the lighting. Just saying. Not very relaxing. So come. Brush your teeth and hit the hay :)

Yelp
This hotel is quite a bit off the highway if you are coming North (so you are not lost if you keep driving a bit) and to get back on the highway you actually go through Kingman itself--however, I passed the Human Bean and that made my morning! The man who checked my daughter and I in was very nice, and he upgraded me to a king b/c sleeping with a child is never easy ;) As someone said below, room 110 has something off with the lock and it still does. It took me a few minutes to open it, and the top lock didn't work. However, I did feel very safe. Nicely redone bathroom, I love seeing the train out of the front. Coffeemaker and fridge in room, and a microwave. Bed was comfortable and mattress was clean (I strip beds at hotels before I get in them), as was under the bed and the a/c filter (yes, I check those too). Will be staying there again. Would have been 5 stars except for my temper tantrum trying to get the door to open.

Yelp
Stayed in room 208 on 11-1-2021.  Super vintage cute!  Check-in was friendly and efficient. Room was spacious, clean and appointed. I totally dug the huge closet. Bed was comfortable and the room had coffee, fridge and microwave.  The only negatives were the heat light in the bathroom didn't work, the toilet ran intermittently, and the shower was a vintage trickle, but wet enough to do the job.  Yes, the motel is near the train tracks so there's some noise, but it didn't bother me since I live near tracks.  As I wrote this, it was 58 degrees outside and I was completely warm (almost hot!) under the sheets, sans heater. The night cost $50.98. Grade:  B Would stay again?  Yes

Yelp
Cute motel on Route 66. Older, retro but very quaint and clean. We had a peaceful and cozy rest, and the gentleman that assisted us was very kind and friendly. I absolutely recommend this motel and will come back on our next visit.

Yelp
I was fortunate enough to stay at the Rambling Rose last night in Kingman Arizona with my husband. Such a sweet place to stay. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean. The young lady at the front office was so sweet and lovely. I would totally recommend this place and I will definitely love staying here on my next trip coming through Kingman. It is very close to historic Route 66 and downtown area. Great find! Blessings to you, Crystal

Yelp
This place is an old piece of past America , right on Route 66 as it's described, though that's debatable, it's best points are very reasonable $62 a night, very clean for a building probably 50 years old. Friendly owners- no pool- just a clean room- cheap and lots of hot water too.
google avatar

Rich H.

Yelp
Great that the room was clean and parking a breeze, but what really has to be the best shower I've had in years, makes Ramblin' Rose a tremendous motel stay. Thanks to Kingman's water pressure and a large flow shower head, one gets to feel really, really clean from the hot rushing shower. Take note of the proximity to the railway tracks across the street because many trains are going to pass by your window into the night. So be forewarned. The fridge and microwave in the room makes up for it IMO.
google avatar

Alan H.

Yelp
5 stars for what it is. It is a little scruffy but clean. It is cheaper than Motel 6 & much better.

Kiara S.

Yelp
I have stayed at this motel since the beginning of covid. The Family own couple both are very nice, helpful and friendly. It seems not appealing on the outside, It is very well kept clean room comes with microwave, fridge, coffee maker and ice bucket. Good WiFi. Great Heater keep nic and toasty warm. Cute Vanity between closet and bathroom. No bugs and cockroaches like other motels charge at the same or little less rate. Rate per day is fairly reasonable. Be Nice if have special weekly rate if needed for extended stay.

Anna K.

Yelp
Very clean room in this vintage era motel run by a conscientious family, not a corporation. Their low rates (which do not reflect lack of care), plus amenities and easy parking make this motel a great bargain and give it a 5-star rating. There was no stale odor that pervades other older motel rooms. All rooms at Ramblin' Rose are non-smoking, and I think visitors abide by the rule. (Other guests were on the the far side of parking lot with their morning cigarettes and saying what a "find" Ramblin' Rose was.) Two weeks before we had stayed at the Motel 6 nearby and it was a disaster: We had to move three times before we got a room where the sink drained and AC/heat worked. AND the Ramblin' Rose charged $10 less than the Motel 6 although the Ramblin' Rose room had a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker Motel 6 had none of those in the room. Freight Trains run not far away, maybe a downside for light sleepers. The decor is not corporate bland: a mix of patterns on the carpet, bed spreads, curtains, and trim and the same flower photos over both beds. Oh, and it was the most comfortable bed I had slept in during our 2-plus weeks of travel.

Yelp
I rented this room for one week. The owner was kind and the room was very clean. Any friends visiting will stay here

Yelp
I had taken a solo trip to the Grand Canyon. But I was staying in Las Vegas oh, and I had driven down. Not wanting to drive 4-5 hours back to Las Vegas, I decided to stop and Kingman Arizona for the night. I am a budget Traveler so I like to find affordable low-cost hotels but for a good value. And this little hotel was definitely a good value for the price. The outside doesn't look like much. When I got there, I went into the lobby and was greeted by a man, and then I believe his mother came out and took care of the rest of my check in. It seems to be a family-run hotel. She was a very friendly and nice, during check-in and check-out. For a king size bed, I paid $50 for the room for one night. The room was very large, much more than you would expect for the price. The room included a king size bed, a flat screen TV, a mini fridge, a microwave, a desk area, table and chairs, a little closet to hang up your stuff, and a bathroom attached. I've been to some Motel sixes where I have paid more and gotten far less for what I got here for less money. Plus, this little hotel is also on a little stretch of Route 66, and it's right down the road from some restaurants. I drove one minute down the road to grab some dinner, so it was very convenient. All in all, I really like this little hotel. The only thing that I might say against it, is that it is located close to some train tracks, so various times throughout the night, I would hear a train passing by, loudly. But I honestly did not care how about that very much. The bed was one of the most comfortable beds I had slept in a hotel before. Thank you for the good night sleep Ramblin Rose Motel :)
google avatar

Elan T.

Yelp
In this Motel you will receive what you're paying for... Not more or less. The turning point that could make you go very far away it is not the fact they have new carpeted rooms or clean sheets but the fact the attitude of the attendants are really TERRIBLE. They DO NOT know how to treat customers at all. So... If you want to come for a cheap room... Yes... This is a good place. Just remember that the customer experience is going to be also CHEAP!!
google avatar

Megan B.

Yelp
We stayed one night here because my wife had an interview in golden valley. This was one of the cheapest motels and we took a chance! The owner is super friendly and helpful. The pace is old but I was surprised at how clean the room was! A bit outdated but definitely good for the price! Mattress was clean as were all the linens! And I'm super weird about beds. Overall, impressed.

Kristiana M.

Yelp
For the price you pay to stay here, I'd say it's a pretty damn good deal. The front desk lady was kind and helpful when I checked in. The water is hot, there's coffee, the bed is super comfortable, and the heater works very well. It's very spacious and comfortable. The view from the second floor is beautiful. There's a cute vanity which is a plus. My only complaint is that the water pressure in the shower is very strong. But I would rather have it be too strong than not strong enough. The room was very clean when I arrived. I stayed for three nights and I heard them cleaning other rooms around me so I don't doubt the cleanliness whatsoever. It's definitely not a modern hotel and there's no free breakfast. The trains can be loud at night because it's right next to tracks but it didn't bother me at all. I would stay again and I highly recommend if you're on a budget and want to get the best bang for your buck.
google avatar

Kantiki J.

Yelp
The lady at the front desk woke up for our late arrival and took care of us with no complaints. With such a late arrival, we slept late, but she let us stay a little late to prepare. We were surprised at how clean everything was, and wow!!! The location is RIGHT where you want to be to see downtown and Route 66 in Kingman. The sound of the train nearby was soothing and a nice surprise. Obviously, anyone who does not like that sound should stay away, but it is a smooth train and not a clanker. We will definitely be back. PS: They've made improvements we've seen over the years, and despite the minimally-working refrigerators, this place could be a 5/5 very soon.
google avatar

Paul W.

Yelp
Perhaps the people rating it better stayed in a nice room, hard to imagine. It's old and beat up, TV remote doesn't work, probably doesn't matter though the TVs 20+ years old. Rolled up torn carpet broken fixtures, broken lamp. Yelp had them under dog friendly motels, definitely not the case. Big sign on the front door says no pets allowed. Had to negotiate and get in a smoking room, and was too tired to look for any other motels. Added $10 to the price. Ha!!! Staircase leading to upstairs units has a stop work order on it due to owners not getting a permit. But the lady at the front desk was nice, and I don't really know how much more to expect for $60. Checked in at 11 PM and wasn't going to pay the 120 to stay at the best western just to sleep for six hours.
google avatar

Marc M.

Yelp
It's hard to really knock this place since the rooms range between 29.99 for a single and 34.99 for a double. Is it seriously possible to bash a completely acceptable roadside motel with a pricepoint like this? No, I don't think so. The owner's wife greeted us at the desk and regaled us with her life story of starting growing up in Zambia and making it not just to the US for school, but ultimately to Kingman, AZ. Nice woman and the rooms are fine for what they are. Fast free wifi is the name of the game here. My only complaint was that there was this whine from the pipes all night that was really annoying in the bathroom. Ended up sleeping with my Bose noise cancellation headphones to fix that. Clean place, no complaints. $35, can't go wrong at that price....well at least not here in Kingman!

Yelp
Avoid this hotel. Sleep in your car if you have to and shower at a truckstop. Filthy. I wouldn't even wash my dog in that tub. One huge bug - I tried to put a saddle on it and ride it but decided I better kill it instead. Seriously, don't even consider staying here. One star would be a complement for this place. What a disgusting hole.

Gloria Z.

Yelp
The worst - I assumed all motels were able to supply "handicapped" rooms but since staying here I learned that's not true. It's owned by a married couple - the husband is very likeable and said they had no handicapped rooms available but he could accommodate me with a room that would be easy for me to navigate in. I tried walking up their handicapped ramp but it is too dangerous. It seemed they took 2 concrete stairs and placed concrete over them, smoothed them out & maid a big concrete mound. This is dangerous & doesn't meet handicapped standards. After refusing to use it the husband Mike directed me to a parking place & room. Again, I couldn't navigate the parking place & step to get into my room but Mike was kind enough to assist me. He also said if I needed his assistance again to just call him. After a day of rest I got a phone call from Mike's wife telling me to get out of the hotel because it wasn't good for handicapped people. I asked what her name was but couldn't understand it. I then asked if she was an owner of the motel & she said no. (She lied) Now she got nasty and said I had to leave. I told her I had paid for 5 days, what about my $$$$? She said she would refund if but I had to get out! I did nothing wrong. Outside my room she was walking around, I asked if she was Mike's wife again she lied to me & said no. I have always had a hard time remembering names & couldn't remember the name over the phone. I will never return to this horrible place ever. They gave me my money back & I left.

Richard S.

Yelp
Very clean and comfortable, good price nice service. On old Route 66. In old part of town very quaint.
google avatar

Sanya H.

Yelp
Tried to call ahead for a reservation and the lady on the phone was either very rude or the language barrier was just too great!! She was condescending and i think she did not give a hill of beans whether they rented the rooms or not. This part of town is right across from RR tracks and felt a little sketchy. Beware!! I ended up going to Best Western down the street. Clean comfortable and receptionist was super nice.
google avatar

Ara B.

Yelp
Other people's hair on all the sheets in my first room; second room, sheets were okay but one of the pillows had someone else's hair on it. When I told the manager (owner? woman with accent from other reviews), she told me I should stay home and never go anywhere if I'm so picky. Despite her sour attitude, I will say the bathroom and towels were clean. This motel rents rooms by the month and week, too. I got the impression people were living on the property. Freight train was pretty loud, but that's probably an issue anywhere along Route 66 in Kingman. For anyone not particular about having fresh sheets, I will say that for being so old, I was pleased that my Nonsmoking room truly didn't smell like smoke. Smoking rooms are in a separate building. Price should probably be even cheaper than the $40 I paid, considering how cheap the chain motels are over in the newer section of Kingman, about 1.5 miles away. In short, I won't be back.
google avatar

Heather B.

Yelp
Basic, but clean and cute. Very cheap! $42 for one person /night. Was probably a posh joint in the 50s. Friendly staff and free wifi. I'd stay here again.

Tom E.

Yelp
Tv didn't work, wifi was usless, no microwave in room, the fridge barley worked, there's train tracks across the street.....need I go on?
google avatar

Avi H.

Yelp
Clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. For the price we weren't expecting much, but we got more than we expected. A little run down, but it was a fine place to spend the night at a great value.
google avatar

Theresa T.

Yelp
I made reservations here because of the price & ratings. We got here late & had to ring the bell for service. The lady that helped me check in was very nice. The place looks old but very decent room. The bed was comfortable. Very quiet except for the air conditioner. Other than that everything was good. No travel stuff tho like shampoo & no breakfast. For the price it was a great room.

Bart T.

Yelp
Okay, one star is a bit much. If you wanna know why the Rose rambles: there's a large train passing by. Every 15 minutes. All night. Also the sheets were very badly washed, which resulted in static electricity if you turn two or three times. It's cheap alright, but there are alot of motels in Kingman. Just pay 10 dollars more, and you might get some decent sleep. STAY AWAY.
google avatar

Lisa D.

Yelp
The staff here was very kind and the place is clean. The bed was more comfortable than most 5 star hotels we've stayed at. Don't expect it to be fancy because it won't be. Visually it's not super appealing but for $40 a night what can you expect? This is an amazing deal and well worth staying at. There was a fridge and microwave in our room also. For the price they deserve 5 stars.
google avatar

Joseph L.

Yelp
Nice professional staff at this no thrills hotel that has some extras, free wifi, nice 50 inch flat screen in my room with quite a few channels and some premium HBO and Cinemax offerings. Five stars for the Rose and its staff.
google avatar

Aubrey R.

Yelp
Charming, this lovely lady saved our night. The best customer service I've experienced in the past year. This woman was more than polite even when we knocked on her door at 3 AM. The room was beyond reasonably priced and much cleaner than you'd expect for a cheap motel room. The water pressure in the shower was fantastic and I loved the retro heat lamp! This place has got mid century charm. If you're looking for a place to rest your head cheaply and comfortably this is definitely it.... Did I mention how nice the woman was?
google avatar

Kay L.

Yelp
This is based just on the customer service from booking my room. I booked the day before my stay. Yes, the woman has a heavy accent but she is extremely nice and not hard to understand. She was so accommodating. For $40-$45 a night for a room that has a fridge and microwave, you can't really beat it. I just need a cheap place to stay for a couple of nights. The reviews on booking.com are above a 7/10 And very good so I'm not sure why they're so low here. The places near here are more expensive with much lower ratings. Sure the place looks very dated in the pictures but it's $40ish! You can cancel up to 24 hours ahead also. No pets. I will add more when I get there. As long as there are no bugs and their customer service continues to be great then this will be my go-to for my Kingman visits. Oh and it's great that they have last minute availability and they're not far from lots of places to eat!
google avatar

Madeline M.

Yelp
If I could give zero stars, I probably would, considering the fact that we were unable to even stay here. We arrived to Kingman, AZ after a long day's drive from Santa Fe- 3 girls on our way back from an event that we were vending in Taos, NM. The Ramblin Rose was recommended as a safe and economical option off the highway en route back to CA to stop for the night for a night of rest and a shower. We pulled up to the office at about 10pm and rang the night bell with no answer. On the second attempt, a voice started yelling at us that we could not understand from the adjacent window to the office. We decided to call after waiting in the cold for 10 minutes, and the female innkeeper came to the phone in the office. We waved and attempted to enter the office, and she blocked our entry in the door, demanding to know how many people were with us and where we were from. We told her that we were coming from an event and that it was 3 girls wanting a room. She then quoted us a rate $20 more than the listed price online and said we had to give her a $100 cash deposit in addition to the rate. Exhausted, we agreed, and upon our confirmation she started accusing us of having extra people in our vehicle, saying we had "too much junk", and then said that she thought we had bugs and would soil her room ( again, we're 3 - showered and well dressed- girls coming from a vending event with a clean suv with a car topper full of luggage). She then refused to rent us a room and slammed the door in our face. After years of working in hospitality, I know that business owners reserve the right to refuse service to anyone, but this woman was blatantly insulting, condescending, and rude. To deny 3 young women a safe place to stay in the middle of the night - for no reason whatsoever- is not only unprofessional but highly irresponsible. Don't waste your time here. The Quality Inn down the street matched our rate at the Ramblin Rose and has clean rooms, free hot breakfast and wifi, and a friendly and accommodating staff that does not treat travelers like they're criminals.

Laurie P.

Yelp
This is a very nice motel with very nice people managing the motel who care about your comfort. As advertisement states, no frills but neat in a retro kind of way. Quiet night, great bed. For the price, unbeatable.
