You can pay more for an authentic, period Route 66 motel experience in Kingman, or you can pay less, and it's a crap shoot for all of them, unless you stay at the Ramblin' Rose. ||This is the place that I'll be staying next time I come through, because it checks off all the important boxes: cleanliness, tidiness, no funky smells (whether of over-cleaning, masking, or other icky stuff), and a true bonus for coffee lovers: a coffee pot with a real filter basket so you can brew your own quality coffee at the strength you want. I travel with my own filters and coffee and it's rare that I'm able to make my own cup. So thank you for that! ||It has everything else you would need for a night or two, such as a good sized room to move around in, a refrigerator, ample room to set your stuff on a very nice cabinet, a serviceable little round table with a couple of chairs, white, white clean sheets, and a very comfortable bed. ||The bathroom is smallish but really clean and if you've been in these small older motels, you know it's hard to navigate with your toiletries in those small rooms. But this motel has done something smart - it put a little tiled shelf between the standalone sink and the wall, so there's no trouble at all to keep your toothbrush and face creams from falling in the sink. I was out of there next morning so didn't use the shower but I expect it would be okay, based on the rest of the amenities. ||The woman at the desk was really nice and I felt totally comfortable there. Air conditioner worked very well too, which is super important in Kingman, Arizona. All in all, I have found the best place to stay in Kingman on route 66. High marks for everything. ||Oh, did I mention the incredible value for the money? OMG.
