Rambutan Resort Townsville

The best value for money accommodation we have stayed at for years. The place is very clean and tidy and surprisingly nice for the price. We had both dinner and breakfast at the ‘resort’ which were both of good quality and great value. It’s certainly not luxurious, but at the price they charge it’s perfectly good for the budget conscious. Would certainly stay here again

We had a great stay here. The pool area is great and the location is very central to the Strand, CBD, ferry and beach. There are bars/nightclubs in the area so you need to be mindful of the noise on Friday and Saturday nights. The staff were great, especially Olivia on reception and the lovely Filipino manager. Thank you for your hospitality!

The staff, particularly the receptionist were all lovely and helpful. The room was small but the bed was comfortable and the shower was great. Definitely value for money for a smaller room for a stopover during the week. If we had more time the pool looked amazing. |Wouldn’t recommend the rooftop restaurant however the meals were below average and the beers very expensive. Definitely not what was expected after seeing the website!

The rooms were clean, modern, and had a super comfy bed. Great location—just a short walk from the ferry terminals. The rooftop restaurant was a highlight, and the pool area was perfect for relaxing. Only downside was the bathroom door, which didn’t fully close and lacked privacy. Also, the surrounding area felt pretty dead at night, so not much going on after dark. Overall, a pleasant stay with a few minor drawbacks.

We did enjoy our stay here. Room rate was quite economical and the accommodation with parking was good. Not over the top fancy but good. |The pool was lovely looking but didn’t feel like using it as you are really just entertaining the drinkers at the bar!|Best of all is the Rooftop restaurant. They have a special on each night and it was charming sitting admiring the view. Enjoyed everything we ate and drank there.

I can not thank the staff and management enough. Leica and Jan went above and beyond to find a room for me when I had mistakenly booked one year in advance. They were fully booked for the weekend due to a number of events in Townsville but moved a mountain to accommodate me. A very surprising hotel. Rooftop poolside resort in the middle of the city. Parking between there and the ground floor! Right in the heart of the nightlife district, and a short walk to the bayside esplanade. Beautiful historic buildings all around. Rooms were fine, service was good, nightly weekday food specials were brilliant. I will be back.

I stayed with a couple of friends one Sunday-Monday night, and I left my watch, and the cleaners were honest and took my watch to front reception. Which I really appreciated. When I rang, the person out front was really thorough with question to ensure the owner of the watch (me), was actually the owner. Overall, the staff were honest and friendly, the rooms were really neat, tidy and spacious, and I couldn’t ask for a better stay.

Quite posh for a hostel! Great shower, WiFi included and in the heart of the party district. More expensive than other hostels by $29 Australia but well worth it.

Food that looked like it was from a frozen package. Nice surroundings but not worth eating here.
