Some of the best ramen in the city. V small space so there are sometimes lines, but worth it if the wait is less than half an hour

We started with the chicken karaage. It had a nice thin crispy skin. The inside was very juicy. Just wish they gave more than just simple Kewpie as the dip. A garlic dip would have been nice! The Red Dragon was very flavorful. It reminded me of Chinese flavors with the spices. It was savory and packed a nice punch. My favorite was the garlic roasted shoyu. The broth was beautifully creamy and rich. The Cha shu melted in your mouth. The noodles had a great chew and bounce to them. Service was quick and friendly. It's not my favorite ramen spot on College, but it was still very good!

Google
We finally got the chance to try this ramen place that was all over tiktok, and it was up to expectation. We got the deep fried pork gyoza, it was okay. And the Kotteri rich shoyu and spicy white sesame shio, both are very flavorful and the broth has so much depth to it. Pork belly was braised to perfection, it literally melts in your mouth. Music wasn’t too loud so you can actually talk easily. Overall service was good, but at the end they immediately took away our bowls and asked if we were ready for the bill even though we were only there for 30 mins with no one queuing. Probably one of the best ramen we have had so far, will come back for sure.

Google
Not my personal preference, but if you enjoy a ramen that’s more jampacked with ingredients, this is a great spot! Lots of vegetables, flavourful broth, thick and chewy noodles. Personally, I find the amount of ingredients to be a bit overwhelming / takes away from the focus on the broth / noodles. Seating is a little tight. Red dragon is a bit spicier than the spicy miso, but overall not too spicy.

Google
If you are searching for authentic Japanese food in GTA, Ramen Isshin is a must-visit! Great food! They have the most flavorful broth and perfectly cooked noodles. I also really like their karaage rice bowl. Great environment! Very polite and good staff. Kudos to Kai for his superb customer service and to all the rest of the staff.

Google
It was pretty busy when we came in, but we still got a table quickly. The staff were all super friendly, shoutout to our server Kai, he was amazing and so nice! The vibe and service were both great. I ordered KOTTERI RICH SHOYU and it was absolutely delicious. Definitely recommend this place if you’re craving good ramen!! 🍜

Google
Authentic Japanese ramen spot in Toronto. We tried the Roasted Garlic Shoyu and Spicy White Sesame Shio—both broths were rich and flavorful, and the ramen egg was perfect. Noodles had great texture too. Compared to Afuri, this place definitely wins on taste. Only downside: the broth got a bit heavy near the end. Still, a solid ramen experience and worth the visit!

Google
I usually don’t write reviews, but this restaurant deserves it. I went several times during my visit to Toronto and enjoyed every visit. I had the spicy miso ramen—it was delicious, not too spicy, very filling, and wonderfully creamy. The chicken karaage was awesome. They prepare it fresh, so it comes out hot and perfectly crunchy. The mango pudding was refreshing and paired really well after the richness of the ramen. The food looked great, and the friendly service made the meal even better.

Google
Delicious ramen, tasty but not overwhelming broth, nice noodle and the fillings. Reasonably priced, good service, and good ambience.

Yelp
This place clearly is the Best ramen in Toronto. We got to Ramen Isshin at around 5pm and did ourselves a favour by avoiding the long queues for this place. This location has been here for a long time now and I don't think its popularity has ever decreased. I chose the roasted garlic ramen like I always do. This place has a seriously, crazy delicious and clean broth with bouncy noodles. There are no complaints. The broth is obviously house made and tasty. The set up in the restaurant is easy and bathrooms are always clean. Overall, this restaurant is average priced for ramen in Toronto and the food is excellent. If you like ramen, I would definitely come here.

Yelp
Came here again and ordered curry cheese ramen. Taste is alright. Just like japanese curry dish but I feel that it doesnt pair TOO well with noodle. Definitely not a classic ramen if you are craving for 'typical' ramen flavor! It came with mushroom, egg, and chicken cutlet (the cutlet pairs well with the curry). Friendly and attentive services. Will come back for different dish-too many to choose because all looks/sounds delish.lol

Yelp
Came here for their $11 ramen anniversary promo. I am not a big fan of Ramen and don't really understand the hype so take my review with that grain of salt. I docked one star because I cannot say the food blew me away. What did blow me away was the staff, their enthusiasm and passion for service. I can see why this place is popular. Got there as they opened and it was already busy. 30 min wait after checking myself in on their QR code waitlist - the time went by surprisingly fast with numerous staff checking in on us and thanking us for waiting. I always found Ramen menus a bit confusing. Even the description does not explain much and all the soup bases sound similar although they are not. I liked my food but I didn't love it. They did a lottery prize draw at each table if you ordered ramen and we won Japanese snacks which we know is already hitting the jackpot. The best part was the staff asking me if it was okay that I only won snacks - I mean ... come on .... how extraordinarily polite and very in line with the experience you would have in Japan. Want an authentic piece of Japan if you are suffering withdrawals then come here and also try their sake which is the ONLY Japanese brewery in Toronto.\

Yelp
I came across Ramen Isshin on my way back to my hotel. The restaurant has a very Japanese ramen place aesthetic, but without the counter separators. I ordered the Tako Wasabi. I personally loved it; the wasabi greatly enhanced the fresh octopus. For the main dish, I ordered the Black Sesame Tan Tan noodles. The broth was great and flavorful. The noodles were perfectly cooked. The ramen had wok-fried pork, chives, and pork belly cha siu, which just brought everything together; it was amazing. The service was fast, and I received my ramen and appetizer quickly. I would come back again.

Yelp
We were in the area and needed an early dinner, 4 adults and 4 kids. We were there around 530p, and only waited 10 minutes or so for a table. Is ramen no longer popular? I remember several years ago to get a table for ramen was a super long wait anywhere. Also went to another ramen restaurant uptown on a Friday night and what used to be a bustling ramen shop, only had 3 tables occupied. Our family ordered the sesame ramen, the tsukemen and a pork belly don. For the pork belly don there was the option for small or large. We opted for the small, but when it came it was rather small. Size of a rice bowl. Seemed pricey for what it was. But the kid enjoyed it. The seasame ramen was fun. There was a small bowl/mortar & pestle for you to grind your sesame seeds to add to your noodles for more flavour. While it was fun I didn't feel that it added much flavour. I didn't try the tsukemen, but that portion seemed to be quite large. Over all, food was enjoyable, service was quick, which is important with young kids!

Yelp
First time here, three for lunch after 1 pm on a Wednesday. Place more than half full, a very good sign. Simple interior, clean and smells great. All portions very large, flavorful and fresh. Attentive service. Relatively easy to find GreenP street parking close by. Liked it, will return.

Yelp
Ramen Isshin is a well regarded ramen spot in Toronto where you'll find a ramens types across miso, shio and shoyu as well as tan tan and vegetarian broths. We came about an hour before closing and fortunately there was no long. We got the Red Dragon that had a mild kick, good broth flavor, and great noodle chew. The chashu was good though for $23, wish you had another piece. Service was nice and its a chill vibe.
google avatar

Yelp
Pretty good ramen spot. I ordered the kotteri rich shoyu, age tofu, kaarage, takoyaki and tako wasabi. Age tofu was delicious, crispy outside and fluffy inside with a nice sauce topping. Karaage and Takoyaki was decent, came out piping hot, and the tako wasabi was underwhelming; I couldn't taste any hints of wasabi. My ramen was delicious, but near 1/3 of the bowl I did find it too heavy. Will definitely come back again to try their light version.
google avatar

Susan L.

Yelp
I've eaten here several times and the ramen has always been delicious. I got the stone bowl tsukemen recently and it was delicious. They also give you a decent amount of protein which isn't always the case at many other ramen places. Personally I did fine the broth to be on the saltier side but I also understand that it's a tsukemen ramen. Service was good and the place was pretty small and cute.
google avatar

Jennifer G.

Yelp
An excellent ramen spot for a cold winter day. The broth for both was delicious, though I have to say the non vegetarian broth was certainly more rich and flavoursome. The noodles were great, perfectly chewy and bouncy. All in all a good spot. Service was very fast, we received our bowls about 2 minutes after ordering.
google avatar

Joyce L.

Yelp
I ordered the spicy red miso ramen with the thick noodles. I like how many veggies it came with, but it lacked spice and it was on the expensive side of ramen. Service here is always really nice and it came get loud during lunch.

Mishe H.

Yelp
Everything was amazing . The service was efficient. The drinks were fresh & made in house. Ramen and apps came out swiftly with no compromise to the quality of the dishes. Kiwi sake, ginger ale, vegan nuggets, spicy veg miso, white sesame shio. Everything was so delicious. The restaurant is small & quaint with modern decor it is very cute for date night or dinner with friends. Also, great spot for solo dinner. They do get really busy which just confirms how great the food is. Highly recommend!

Yelp
This is a pretty good spot for ramen in Toronto. Although it was quite busy when my friend and I arrived, the staff tried their best to get us seated. I tried the Chicken Shio Ramen, which had a rich and creamy broth, as well as a side of sesame seeds you can crush and add to your bowl to amp up the flavour. Their Takoyaki was good, though not the best I've had.

Yelp
When my friend, a local Torontian, highly recommended Ramen Isshin, you can be sure Hubby and I were definitely going to take their advice and we are so glad we did. The food, service, and the atmosphere were top-notch as Isshin Ramen is a great place to get a delicious and authentic ramen experience. We started off with a shared plate of Hiya Yakko, which is cold tofu smothered with their secret freshly made chili oil, with green onions and bamboo shoots delicately layered on top. It was a refreshing and flavorful start to the meal. For our main entrees, I ordered the Isshin Red Miso ramen which set the food mood as it had a wonderful aroma. The thick and wavy noodles were perfect as the ground tofu and wood ear mushrooms were able to intermingle with the noodle's waves nicely. The depth and dimensions were outstanding. My Hubby had the Vegetarian Roasted Garlic Shoyu which my Hubby declared was delicious, with two varieties of mushrooms: shiitake and button. Both our noodles had the perfect bounce and the soups were rich, we quaffed all of it. We concluded our meal with Kakigori Hochi Cha. Our shaved ice was very different from the Korean Bingsu we were accustomed to, as we found this to be more refreshing. The Japanese Kakigori is ice based and made from water. The ice had been grounded down to flakes and then the sweet milky Hochi cha was adorned on top of the ice flakes. Beyond sublime! It was a seasonal special so always ask what their seasonal desserts are and save room for them. My only suggestion is for the servers to take away the trays, as the tables are a bit tight. This is a minor suggestion, but didn't detract from my overall experience. Service: 5/5 Food: 5/5 Cleanliness: 5/5 Value: 5/5

Yelp
Delicious and authentic ramen!! I haven't had good tsukemen since visiting LA and Tokyo and was so excited to try it at ramen Isshin, which exceeded my expectations. The broth was hot, flavorful, and strong in seafood flavor. Noodles were perfect thickness and chewiness. It was so satsifying! As for the service, waitress was kind but had limited English, probably much easier if you know Japanese if you have questions. Otherwise if you just state your order it's a breeze. We arrived about 10 minutes after opening and we had to wait about 20 minutes total for a seat and food. Actually I think there was some miscommunication...they told us it was going to take a long time to get seated until I asked if we could sit at the counter where there was plenty of space. I think they usually just seat single diners there? Karaage was also very good. Crispy and big pieces. Couldn't speak for the red miso ramen but my husband seemed to enjoy it. Casual ambiance with an open kitchen. Will def return someday.

Yelp
Ramen was very flavourful and good sized portion. The Hiya tofu was good too. I ordered the red dragon ramen and my friend went with the vegetarian roasted garlic, which he enjoyed a lot. Only thing the noodles were a little tougher than other places I've been to that made fresh noodles at time of order. Service was fast and friendly. Overall I recommend others give this place a try.

Yelp
Ramen is shin is usually super packed with a limited seating time. I was super excited to try this ramen spot but was honestly a little underwhelmed. The black garlic ramen was not as fragrant as I expected it to be. The Karaage and tofu was super tasty. Overall a decent ramen joint but I probably won't come back. Service is friendly and the restaurant is very clean

Yelp
This ramen place is one of the top ones in Toronto. With high popularity comes great expectations... but it didn't live up to it. While it's truly disappointing, there's still something good to talk about. - soup was served in a hot stone bowl - soup was rich and full of flavours - eggs were nicely cooked I understand it's all about personal preference when it comes to tastes, but it's something about the standards of TSUKEMEN not being met. - soup was not thick enough to cling to the noodle - ramen noodle was not completely drained when served (see the last pic) ( , )

Yelp
In classic fashion, the space is pretty tight and generally a little difficult to navigate. Still, we were lucky to pop in and grab the last two counter seats right before a wave came in which had to wait. The service is not bad, but not particularly courteous, but this is really just about the food. One thing they emphasize is self-ground sesame seeds -- seeds provided in a little bowl with a grinder for your ramen depending on which dish you get (a little participation). In terms of price, not the most expensive ramen, but I wouldn't say cheap -- fairly priced is probably the best phrase. White Sesame Shio - The broth for this dish was amazing. Right away, I was delighted by the bold flavor and seasoning. Everything went perfectly well together. The pork was delicious as well, quite tender and flavorful. Highly recommend this dish. I left very satisfied with my meal. Value: 3/5 Quality: 5/5 Quantity: 5/5 Service: 3/5 Atmosphere: 3/5

Yelp
My girlfriend and I went here on a Sunday night and it was absolutely packed and super noisy inside. Hard to have a conversation. We waited for 15 minutes and were seated. Service was prompt, and no complaints there. We order edamame as a delicious appetizer, and it was warm and promptly delivered. I got red miso, and the broth was rich and spice heavy. The pork was melt in your mouth tender. My girlfriend got the shoyu noodles, which were soft and in a creamy broth, though much less flavorful than the red miso. Overall had better ramen in SF, but definitely a pleasant surprise. Would come back.

Yelp
A decent ramen restaurant with traditional decor. I've been meaning to come here for the longest time. The ramen was good but not the best. The broth was amazing. It was very rich and flavorful. The texture and firmness/thickness of the noodles were perfect too and held the flavors of the broth well. The chashu was bad. I don't mind if they're sliced thin, but they weren't tender and even a bit tough. The egg (inside the broth for some reason) was a bit too sweet but I didn't mind this as much. The bamboo shoots were kinda bad too, they weren't sweet but it might be because they're inside the broth. All in all, I think the ramen is great but the toppings were bad. I'd recommend trying their tsukemen because I thought that was better. The takoyaki was just alright, nothing special. Rounding a 3.5 review to a 4.

Yelp
Decided to check this place out based on multiple positive recommendations from friends. Ramen Isshin does not disappoint... i thought it was the best ramen place i've had in Toronto so far (vs. Kenzo, Kinton, etc.). Food (5/5) - very good selection of choices on the menu... not only protein/veggies but broth and noodle types. 14 different Ramen options plus appetizers, etc. I've now tried: - Stone Bowl Shoyu Kotteri Tsukemen - really solid dipping ramen that comes in hot pot with shoyu broth... with seafood and pork - excellent - Black Sesame Tan Tan - pork based sesame flavoured with thick twisty noodles - very good - Roasted Garlic Shoyu - pork belly cha shu with shoyu broth and thinner noodles - solid Service (4.5/5) - friendly and attentive Izakaya style service including all the greetings, etc. Orders were always quick and processed timely. Have to be careful to get there at an ideal time though. They don't take reservations and are usually busy! Atmosphere (4/5) - it can get loud with all the walk-in/pick-up activity and greetings. Thinner corridor style seating at tables. Overall (4.5/5) - So far, my favourite Ramen place in Toronto and will continue to work my way through the numerous items.

Yelp
I should've reviewed this Ramen Isshin last year Am I dreaming? Or maybe it is because their ramen is astonishing and made me dream in the air! If you like Japanese culture or just like ramen, you'll like this restaurant at the first sight of it. It has an exotic japanese-style decoration and the waiters always shout out some Japanese words to show their hospitality. That makes you feel you're really in a ramen restaurant in Japan. Their ramen is very tasty, yet it isn't too strong or savoury to appal non-Japansese people. They also provide vegetarian ramen so you can still enjoy their culinary skill if you're a vegetarian. "Isshin" is the Japanese which means to focus on perfecting something. I think Ramen Isshin is qualified for owning that name. There's one instresting thing: I went to the restaurant twice and without any idea, I ordered the same ramen for the both times. I must try something different next time!

Yelp
Started with Sapporo on draft. Nice to have a cold one at the end of the day. I had tako taki which I haven't had before. They were octopus formed into balls and deep fried. Quite tasty. My main entree was Red Dragon ramen but I wanted it mild. They put the spicy items in the side. I also ordered extra noodles. If I was to have a complaint it would be that the chasu was on the thin side. I haven't had it this thin before. The extra noodles gave me plenty to eat. I would of liked it to have more ingredients. I left quite filled though. Service was fine. The place was relatively small and busy. The restrooms were clean.

Kevin F.

Yelp
This is my go to for ramen in Toronto. It is small but the staff are very friendly and helpful. Service is quick and the ramen is top notch. I highly recommend.
google avatar

Harshini R.

Yelp
Went here for their 10th anniversary as they were doing $10 bowls. Although they were super busy, the service was still impeccable and the staff were very friendly. They came around to every table offering the chance to win prizes as well. It's a cute small spot with lots of tables but you're coming here for the food. And it's worth it!
google avatar

Lilian C.

Yelp
The quality has gone down. My soup was okay, but my friend ordered Tan Tan noodles and the soup was Luke warm. Asked the server to heat it up and she refused, saying heating up would change the taste of the noodle soup, she probably didn't know how not warm it was and never bothered to even make it better. It was a cold day in Oct so we would like our soup hot. Meat slices also gotten thinner. The spiciness when we ordered another day was not spicy at all. There are cheaper places that I'll go to for ramen. This place I'll never go back again.

Yelp
I was recommended this place by a local. You know the place is good when it is small and there is a wait. One downfall to start is that there is no WIFI available. It is not mando to have it, but it is a downfall. I was visiting from California so it makes it difficult to park on the streets without having internet or wifi connection. Not the restaurants problem, but I asked for help or a solution to parking and no one was able to assist. The menu looks straight forward, but there were too many options. 13 bowls, 1 tsukemen dipping ramen, 2 rice bowls and appetizers to choose from. That's alot of options! This is by far the most expensive ramen I have ever paid for. And I live in the bay area where things are jacked up expensive. Luckily the exchange rate was good when I went and the conversion wasn't so bad. With 4 people, we all got different bowls - Red dragon, spicy red miso, roasted garlic shoyu and the shoyu tsukemen. They all were good in their own ways. One downfall to this place is that the bowls don't come with much. You literally have to add extra toppings that range from $1-$8.5 and you can see bowls will come out even more expensive. The menu has pictures but doesn't actually tell you what's in every bowl. Service was great which is pretty rare for an asian establishment! Our server was very sweet and took his time telling us what was included in each of the individual bowls. And yooooo, they serve you hella noodles. The asian in me did not want to waste food, but boy oh boy.... This ramen won.. We also came close to closing so maybe they were just pushing out what they had left. Regardless, it was appreciated!

Yelp
Hole in the wall ramen spot that's worth a visit. The setting is chaotic and cramped but that doesn't bother me because I come for the food. Walked in without a reservation and was seated at the bar. Had the black sesame ramen that did not disappoint. Will definitely come back

Yelp
Best ramen, outside of Tokyo...so far! In 3 days, we went back twice! Great flavor, nice cut of pork belly and gyoza was great Felt like we were in Japan, with bustling atmosphere and decor Headed to Japan and will compare noted

Yelp
Can anything warm and satisfy quite like a large bowl of noodle soup? Tasty bowls of ramen with all the flavour and topping options that your heart desires. If you're a fan of spicy food and brave enough to try it, get a side order of their spicy paste. I forget what it is called, but you'll want to nab some before it runs out. I was lucky to get the last order of it on my last visit.

Yelp
Ramen Isshin serves some amazing ramen. But beware, this place is extremely popular. This means you will have to reserve a spot in advance (using a very effective online reservation system that tells you your location in the queue). You will have to be prompt at arrival or your table may be given away. Moreover, you will only be given 60 minutes for the table. So, it is a rushed dining experience. It is not recommended for a first date or a night out with friends. But if you're in need for a quick ramen fix, this place is for you. The ramen at the place is legit. The noodles are fresh and perfectly cooked. The broth is rich and delicious. All the fixings are included. The prices range at around $15-17. The portions are small, but sufficiently filling. I've been here in two occasions both times the ramen did not disappoint. On my last visit I ordered the spicy red miso soup. The broth was rich and delicious. The pork belly was a small portion and not the softest cut of meat. There was a nice crunch from the bean sprouts and scallions. The noodles were perfect.

Yelp
4.5 rounded! I live about a 10 minute walk from this place but have never gotten to try it.. It's been added to the roster! Was able to get on the waitlist via google/yelp so the table was ready once we got there on a Friday night. Super convenient system especially since there's not a lot of seating. Ordered the Red Dragon Ramen and the Tsukemen, and both were great. The base of the Red Dragon was good and had the perfect amount of spice that was noticable but not overwhelming. It was well seasoned but not too salty, and the portions are really generous. My boyfriend got the tsukemen which isn't easy to find in Toronto. He said it was very good, with the broth being rich and it being fairly priced. He also ordered a second serving of noodles for 3 dollars, which is actually a full second serving! We started with the karaage which is solid and would get again as we're fried chicken fans, but wasn't necessarily exceptional. Service was nice and attentive and we sat at benches that were actually really comfortable and spacious. Great for a casual dinner or date night.

Daniel D.

Yelp
definitely best i've had in toronto, altho everything is slightly pricey, the black sesame ramen was pretty unique and i would get it again
google avatar

Lauren B.

Yelp
My friend gave it a perfect score of 5/5 for the vegetarian ramen, so if you're veg or vegan, this is your spot. For me, I'd say the pork ramen was probably a 4/5. The broth wasn't hot enough for me and they refused to substitute pork belly slices with minced pork (boo!) but the broth and noodles were tasty. They warned us that we'd only have our table for 60 minutes--better slurp and run!--but in actuality they let us linger longer. Note: the Tokyo Blonde beer was awesome! PS If you love ramen and you're ever in the Yonge & Eglinton area, try Hokkaido Ramen Santouka - it's one of my faves!

Yelp
Isshin is a good place to enjoy not only ramen but also different kind of side dishes. The broth has rich flavor and the texture of ramen is chewy. They have open kitchen that you could enjoy and watch chef cooking your ramen while waiting for the meal. All Staffs are nice and kind, you could customize you ramen for adding more ingredients or spices. Highly recommended

Yelp
Authentic Japanese ramen. Never disappoints. Great spot for vegetarians. Service is always good.

Yelp
Food: 4 Decor: 3 Service: 4 Came here for a quick lunch with a work colleague. Overall, great ramen spot and definitely worth a visit. Plenty of seating so we were immediately seated. 鶏の唐揚げ ~ガーリックマヨ~ CHICKEN KARAAGE 7.8 Our signature Isshin Karaage. Super crispy, crunchy, juicy bites of Japanese style deep fried chicken served with kewpie mayo. Pretty good. Chicken was fried nicely without too much batter. Pretty good. Everything tasted pretty good, between the veggies, pork, and noodles. Service was good, and we were out of there in about 30 minutes.

Yelp
Went there at 11am on Sunday and was pretty empty. Fast service and great ramen. Love the broth. Have been my go to every time I'm in the area.

Yelp
Been here twice with my boyfriend, and both times were great! We've had both the 'age tofu' and 'hiya yakko' (cold tofu), the level of spice was just perfect to our liking. As for the ramen, we've had the 'spicy white sesame shio', 'red dragon' and 'spicy red miso'. The texture of the ramen was cooked perfectly. The gyoza and takoyaki was yummy too, takoyaki did not have a thick batter. Black sesame icecream has 3 scoops (very generous) :) . We got a small box of 'Pocky' too when we asked for the bill.

Yelp
This is in the heart of the downtown Toronto. Pretty easy to find. Street parking available everywhere. We got there at 2 ish pm and it was still packed! Luckily we missed the crowd just by 5 mins or so. Otherwise we will have to wait for awhile. As the restaurant is quite small. This is a quick stop, have a bite and go kinda place. The staffs are pretty friendly. The menu is easy to read, also check out the recommendation written on the wall next to the open kitchen. Spicy red miso wasn't too spicy. I would say a 4/10 spiciness level. Same with the spicy sesame shio ramen wasn't spicy at all 3/10. Eggs are excellent, we all have an extra order of that on the side. Noodles are wavy and al dente. Perfectly bouncy and delicious. Not overcooked! Broth is delicious and not oily... not too thick either. The appetizer is yummy, age tofu batter is light and miso paste has a strong flavor and taste. Would definitely come back again next time I visit Toronto! Good and fast service. The staffs are all nice and welcoming.

Yelp
I visit Isshin Ramen at least ononcee every couple of months, it's a go-to place in my mind and the food is always great. Prices: with inflation, everything has gone up by $2-$3 dollars per item, and the add-ons are average $$1.50 extra, which easily makes your one bowl of ramen a $25 bill. Service: it's courteous, but my recent visit on Nov 23rd, 2024 with 4 other friends was disappointing. The staff wasn't rude, but the restaurant policy was illogical because when the staff asked how we want to split the bill, we mentioned we need separate bills - they then said they can't split the bill into 5 separate bills for our table and claimed that they can only split it into 2 bills. I don't understand, is it they don't want to, or they physically can't even if they wanted to? Either reason I find is illogical because if they claim that they can't create separate bills, then how do they create individual bills for all these other customers who are dining in the restaurant? Looking around the whole restaurant, it's busy, filled with tables of 2, or 3, and/or solo dining, the solos are all sat along the SAME long table - so the fact that they can't split a bill for ONE (aka SAME) table of 5 is also saying they shouldn't be able to generate separate bills for the 5 different solo dining customers that are sitting along the same side table. Which, of course, we know, is not true because otherwise, they won't be able to bill anyone in the restaurant. So here's the lesson: DO NOT go to Isshin College location if you have a group of friends who believe in splitting the bill and want to have a nice casual meal and a good time. This restaurant is incapable of doing simple math as a service to their customers, meanwhile, they continue to set a default tip request to 15%. Don't do extra work but still have the audacity to demand tip, just another greedy and lazy Toronto restaurant. I'm going to start going to MiSoya or Kinton more in the future because they know how to split the bills and understand that people who show up in groups will most likely want separate bills even though they are sitting at the same table.

Yelp
pretty good ramen, i wish the chasu was thicker/bigger portion. food was a little on the salty side but i didnt mind it (im filipino hehe). we went on a friday night so it was pretty packed and in order to grab a table, we had to wait for our entire party to be present (there were 6 of us). as for space, it felt a little cramped. its a tiny resto so...what can u do. also, there is a 1 hour timer for your stay and it starts when ur seated tho it was fine since our food came out faster than expected, given the amount of people inside. servers were very nice
