"Traditional Sushi in Barrio Bellas Artes Kintaro has been a mainstay of the Bellas Artes neighborhood near Parque Forestal for over 15 years. The Japanese owner and sushi master are always on hand to ensure quality at this busy locale, day and night with a local (and Asian) crowd. Right in front of the Bellas Artes metro stop, it's a great place to people watch in addition to tucking into incredibly fresh, delicious sushi, rolls, sashimi, and ramen. They have a good selection of artisan craft beers to accompany. With the abundance of fresh seafood in Chile , sushi here won't disappoint. got the gyoza pork Ramen and fish crepe desert. desert came out before Ramen. gyoza was good but sauce was way too salty. fish crepe was over cooked. Ramen broth was basic with no depth. ingredients in Ramen were pretty good. server tried to get an additional tip on top of the automatic gratuity. atmosphere was spot on. though they kept saying good morning instead of good evening in japanese.

Our visit to Ramen Kintaro was nothing short of exceptional. Upon my partner’s enthusiastic recommendation, we revisited this gem, and it truly exceeded our expectations. The authenticity of the experience was palpable, especially showcased in the remarkable bowl of ramen we indulged in. Don’t miss out on their cocktail selection, many of which boast delightful Sake infusions. Personally, I savored the Karen—a refreshing concoction adorned with edible flowers and lychee fruit. It’s worth noting that during peak hours, particularly at lunchtime in the summer, the restaurant can get quite warm and humid due to limited ventilation. Nevertheless, this minor inconvenience paled in comparison to the overall fantastic experience we had. Highly recommended for any ramen enthusiast seeking an unforgettable dining adventure.

The restaurant closes at 10 PM. We arrived at 8:54 PM. One of the employees was standing in the door. He was trying to tell us that the kitchen would be closing soon. We said we understood that you close at 10 PM. From the start, he was trying to avoid seating us, because they were closing in an hour. Unfortunately, some locals walked up and went straight to outdoor seating without speaking with him. He dropped his head and said to us, "Inside or outside". We chose to sit inside. They sent their server over that spoke the best English. He seemed nice. We placed the order for drinks as soon as he approached the table. At this point, we scrolled through the menu, waited for the drink, and observed the team. There were 4 tables inside and 5 tables outside, so figured that we had time, because none of the employees seemed rushed. The manager was breaking down receipts. The bartender was playing on her phone. No one was cleaning the floors. Our drink was delivered roughly 5 minutes later. We were fine and ready to place the order. We ordered the fried chicken, teriyaki wings, karrage(Chicken) curry, and chicken miso ramen. I explained to our server that I am allergic to pork and that it may be best for them to just do the vegetable miso and add chicken, we would pay the difference, because this is my issue. He said, "Allergy, as in you will go into anaphylactic shock?" So, this tells us that he understood the situation. We thought everything was good to go. The food arrived to the table at 9:31 PM. They did what they wanted to do. Everything was old and cold. The curry was re-heated and didn't have any chicken in it. They put a piece of fried chicken on top of it. Curry is like mashed potatoes when being reheated- dense and requires mixing, it was cold. The miso soup was warm and the broth was completely pork and there were pieces of pork in it. Instead of putting the chicken in the ramen, they put those fried chicken pieces on top. The teriyaki wings were good, but a little cold. The fried chicken as a whole had some old pieces along with cold pieces. If they didn't provide photos on the menu, I would not have known this was wrong. In the picture, the chicken is shredded or in chunks. Our server asked how was the food at 9:43 PM. We told him that we were there because of the reviews and unfortunately it seems like there is no passion in the kitchen tonight and that the food is cold and that the ramen had pork in it. He said ok. We asked for the check at 9:50 pm. He saw that we didn't eat the food and then started to put together what we were saying. He said sorry, but that was tough for him to do. We figured that voicing our position was a waste of energy, so we paid and drank our beer. We walked out at 10 PM. There were still tables outside and 1 table inside. Perhaps, they really did want to close early. Perhaps, they should change their closing time to 9:30 if they want to be out by 10 PM. This was upsetting after a long day of travel and the fact that they didn't seem to care. An hour is more than enough time to eat noodles in an Asian restaurant, so I think it was just the service this time. They probably could have gotten us out of there by 9:40 if they came to the table when we called them over or got the small items out of the way quickly. We know what it's like to have someone walk in when the restaurant is closing and because we were in the last hour, we looked at the menu before showing up there so we would be ready when they were ready. We tried to eat the old fried chicken pieces, then gave up.

Google
Nice place, spicy options, but they do charge $1,000 Chilean pesos just to use your credit card. Like come on, the food isn’t cheap even the liquor store doesn’t charge for it. Great mocktail options, Gyoza was a little bland and things were pricey.

The Ramen is very good considering we are in South America- Rich Broth and great Charsiu! Lots of options. We ordered chicken and Pork Ramen, wish the chicken broth was hotter. Beer is good priced and very nice too

Had a vegan ramen soup and it was surely one of the best I've had. The service was extraordinarily helpful and friendly. No wifi available, which you technically need internet to look into their digital menu. The staff helped out with a hotspot though! Great!

Google
Cannot say it’s the best Japanese ramen, but definitely the best Japanese ramen in Chile. The mocktail is great as well.

Yelp
I probably have to preface my review with: I grew up with extremely good Asian food, and I have very low expectations for Asian food in Latin America. I got the spicy miso, small size, and it was surprisingly good. I was pleasantly surprised. The miso soup actually tasted like miso, and it was sufficiently spicy and flavorful. The noodles were cooked perfectly chewy, and the single chasu and half egg were both marinated and flavorful. Portions were a bit small for the price, but it was good! Would recommend it if you're looking for some noodles and ramen.

Yelp
Had the Spicy Tonkotsu and it was delicious. Authentic flavor, and the unctuous-ness of a fantastically made broth. The place was packed and I understand why. Service was fast, and the atmosphere great. The noodles and chassis were done perfectly although the egg was just barely over cooked for my taste, but it was still delicious. Their version of a sunomono cucumber salad is basically just a half a chopped cucumber with the dressing and sesame seeds poured over it. Okay, not great. If I went again I'd try something else. They have vegetarian options too if that's your thing, but I can't vouch for them. They have more than just ramen: Japanese style curry, donburi bowls, and more. If their non-ramen food is as good as the ramen then it's worth it to try.

Yelp
Great presentation for my Miso Ramen. Soup came only lukewarm and instead of pork belly slices came with pork loin, very flavorful, but firmer and less succulent than the original ingredient. The ramen noodles where firm (Al dente) but rather bland in flavor. Please compare with Goemon Ramen in its Providencia store. They are serious competition

Yelp
On our last day of 2 weeks vacation in Chile, the Asian craving kicked in and I was so excited to have found Kintaro to satisfy the craving however, the craving was not satisfied. Thinking this is the Kintaro chain we enjoy so much in Canada, I was dead wrong. The broth were very salty perhaps catered to local preference but I didn't enjoy it. The texture of the noodles were decent but the ingredients were not the best quality. I ordered the veggie miso ramen and I got welted Chinese cabbage in my bowl. In addition, there were very little noodles. At $16 a bowl, I expected left overs which is usually the case in Canada.

Yelp
Absolutely wonderful food. I have eaten here a few times and it never disappoints! It is a little expensive however everything is freshly made and very high quality food. The staff are very nice, courteous, welcoming and attentive. Shout out to Pierre, Stephen, and Kazu for excellent service!

Yelp
They were out of rice however the miso veg ramen soup with tofu was amazing ... good choice !!!!

Yelp
Kintaro has some of the most authentic ramen outside of Tokyo and Osaka. The broth is rich and flavorful that shows they cooked it over 8 hours. The noodles are bouncy and chewy, what you expect from real ramen. There not fusion touches like other restaurants which keeps it more authentic. We had the ramen especial for dinner and came back later for the spicy special chicken ramen 4 hours later. It's that good. The restaurant is packed as soon as the door opens and most nights they are open 6pm - 11pm. The charsu pork is on point with a combination of fatty pork belly and proper roasting plus a light quick torch.
