"Separated from Malta by just a small channel but worlds away in terms of pace, the calm island of Gozo is renowned for its coastline. Ramla Bay features distinctive reddish-hued sands on the northeast coast. Nestled between the bays of Marsalforn and San Blas, the warm waters are calm by day and the sunsets are a spectacle by night."

The only actual beach on Gozo, which was a nice change for the kids in our family. We all had a great time, at a beach we’ve been going to for two decades, and seen becoming more and more popular with tourists. I see in the reviews that people talk of rocks and not actual sand. The beaches of Gozo are strongly affected by heavy weather, meaning the rock/sand distribution can change quite abruptly. For us this was not a problem, we went a bit over half the beach, towards west, where there was plenty of sand and easy access to the water for the kids. I really can’t understand the “complaints”. A big plus is the shapeability of the sand, meaning the kids loved to play in the sand! Water was lovely, with a few waves, which was just fun. More than pleasant temperature, even in October. Probably around 27 degrees. The popularity has both positive and negative sides. Negative, as there are more tourists, however this was not a problem now in early October. Positive, as there are easy access to sunbeds and decent food, ice cream and toy store for the kids. Really good day at the beach, and a nice change from the rocky cliffs and stoney beaches of Gozo. NB: during summer, the sand becomes dangerously hot to walk on barefeet.

Cool beach with nice red sand. We were even able to jump into the water although there were big waves and the red flag.

Very unique and wide sandy beach in Gozo with incredible landscape, orange sand and white rocks. One of the prettiest in Malta 🇲🇹

One of the most beautiful beaches I have ever been too. Recommend walking up to the cave, path is past the statue at the end of the beach. Steep ascent and tricky bits towards the top, you can park nearby to the cave if easier.

Like this beach less as it's much too crowded, hard to find free parking and the waves are too strong. The sandy areas are strewn with rocks. On the flipside, it could be a worthwhile visit for others as there is a longer stretch of beach with unique orange coloured sand. There are also amenities - a foodcourt, toilets, sunbed rentals, street vendors and a paid parking area.

Go to the far end if you want to swim as the seabed is very rocky close to the entrance. Otherwise probably the best beach in the archipelago.

Beautiful beach with lovely sand (the first sandy beach I’ve been to on Malta finally), pretty views and lots of space to sit down and relax. The waves were very strong (borderline dangerous) but it was still nice just to walk around in the water.

One of only few sandy beaches in entire Malta. The trip to Ramla Beach took us some time, but it was worth it. If you are coming from the main island, ferry from Ćirkewwa takes about 25 minutes, and the return ticket is 4,65 euros. Then, from Mgarr ferry terminal, there is direct public bus to the beach. The beach itself is very beautiful, with the strangest-looking sand colour I have ever seen. The water was warm, calm amd clear. Make sure you choose the part of the beach where there is sand in the water, too (most parts have rocks in the water). It is possible to rent sunbeds and umbrellas, price is 5 euros per item. So, for 2 sunbeds and one umbrella, we paid 15 euros.
