I visited Ramnagar Fort in Varanasi over the weekend, and it turned out to be a very peaceful and enriching experience. There was hardly any rush, which allowed me to explore the place calmly and truly absorb its beauty. The fort is not an overly grand or extravagant palace-style structure, but it has a subtle charm and authenticity of its own. It is beautifully maintained, and locals mentioned that half of the fort is still occupied by the royal family, while the remaining portion is open to the public. There was an entry ticket, but thankfully no queue or waiting. One of the highlights was the museum inside, which displays an impressive collection of historical weapons like talwars and antique pistols. It felt like stepping back in time and witnessing real pieces of history. Photography is strictly prohibited inside, with a penalty of ₹500, but honestly, the experience itself is far more valuable than capturing pictures. The view from the backside of the fort overlooking the River Ganga is absolutely magnificent. The calm flowing river adds a divine and timeless energy to the entire place. There is also a beautiful temple within the fort premises near the open river side. The priest shared that it is associated with Ved Vyas, which made the visit feel even more spiritually significant. The entire visit took about 1 to 1.5 hours, making it a perfect short heritage exploration. It’s peaceful, historically rich, and deeply connected to our cultural roots. Definitely a must-visit place if you’re in Varanasi. It’s not just about seeing a fort—it’s about experiencing the quiet dignity and heritage of our past.

A very good place to visit - elegant, calm, and beautiful. It’s just 3–5 km away from Varanasi, making it an easy trip. I’d strongly recommend visiting in the morning; the peaceful vibe and surroundings make the experience even better. A nice break from the city chaos.

The place was very beautiful but maybe they can preserve the building properly. The museum is too dusty and dirty. Regular sweeping of the floor is not done maybe. I felt very suffocated inside the museum. Lots of dirt piling on those vintage cars and paalkis. They should be kept clean for display. Or else the fort is really worth visiting.

One should visit the it if one is interested in history and monuments.You should visit the museum (ticket price =80₹) .There you will see various king’s chariots ,clothes,weapons ( guns,spears,swords etc) ,articles of daily life and so on. If you visit you should see the museum else it has nothing to explore

It is an ancient fort in which Vyas Kashi temple is situated. The entrance fee for museum is 80 per adult. The maintenence is not satisfactory. The washrooms are at their worst state. The temple were open around 11am. It is better the temples get opened early. While collecting 80 per head the maintenance especially should be neat and tidy.
