Extremely disappointing experience. I checked the posted hours and called at 4:50 PM on Saturday (they close at 5) so I knew it was too late to come in. Their website also shows Sunday hours (10–3), but I was told by Martica the store would actually be closed due to a personal appointment. Despite explaining I was flying out at 5 AM Monday, and offering to pay over the phone, send ID and credit card authorization, and even arrange Uber pickup, all options were refused. I was also told they couldn’t wait a few minutes because the associate had a manicure appointment. For a brand that presents itself as polished and modern, the lack of updated hours, flexibility, and basic customer service is surprising. Lost sale due to poor communication.

Rating: (1 star) Title: Legacy Lost -- Over $1,100 Spent, Zero Respect for Customers I've spent over $1,100 on six guayaberas in less than a month—all because of the store's legacy name. The founder was a true icon in Miami's Cuban community. Sadly, the new owners have completely destroyed that legacy. My online shopping experience was horrendous. I ordered a $175 guayabera as a gift; USPS showed it "delivered," but it never arrived. The store refused to issue a refund or store credit -- even after I offered to buy more shirts in person if they simply made it right. No empathy. No accountability. No class. The new management is a joke, and their customer service is nonexistent. Save your money and your patience. Get your guayaberas elsewhere -- the real Miami spirit no longer lives here.

Martica was extremely helpful finding me, my father and fiance the right size/fit for our guayaberas. She was extremely kind and passionate! We will definitely be back for more.

Beautiful guayaberas of the highest quality and craftsmanship. Marta provided amazing, personalized customer service. You must stop at Ramon Puig if you’re in the area!

We were on holiday in Miami and couldn’t leave without visiting the iconic “La Casa de Las Guayaberas” before flying back to London. Ms Martica was very patient and explained the different types and sizes until we found the perfect fit. Her personal attention and expertise was very reassuring. She took the time needed and also told us how to care for our guayaberas which was quite important. Be aware that none of the shirts have price tags so you rely on Ms Martica to tell you how much each shirt is. Check their refund policy just in case to prevent issues. The shop is full of history with pictures of all the celebrities dressed by Ramón Puig over the years. What a heritage and iconic place to do shopping!

I've received as a gift a guayabera purchased at this store just 7 days ago. As the shirt wasn't my size I stopped at the store to exchange it for a smaller size. The shirt has never been worn, only tried on for 5 minutes, all labels and stickers still attached. The employee had from the beginning a rude approach that started with remarks that she doesn't exchange without receipt, then that she doesn't without the plastic clear bag that it was provided. I gave her the receipt, and the store bag that it was packed into. Then she began yelling in a totally unprofessional way that the shirt has an opened pocket. I tried to take a calmer tone with her explaining again that the shirt has not been worn at all only tried on for 5 minutes. She kept yelling stating that she does not intend to exchange it. I asked her to let me talk to the store owner. She stated that she is the owner. Something that was suppose to be an easy in and out store exchange became an ugly customer service behavior. I packed my shirt and left. This store's customer service I rate it at "zero"

Yelp
We bought my husband a beautiful shirt, but the gravy on top was the Colombian lady that helped us. She was lovely and knew her business. From the moment she opened the door to the moment we left she was amazing in every way! The shirts are relatively expensive, but they are linen and beautiful!

Yelp
I was in search of a good quality guayabera and asked a Cuban friend from Miami to refer me to a place where I can get great quality apparel. He referred me to Ramon Puig and added that their guayaberas are a little pricey but worth it. I checked Yelp and found a number of disparaging reviews and grew hesitant but chose to heed my friend's seal of approval and I'm glad I did. We were instantly greeted by Marta who was extremely helpful. With an up and down glance, Marta sized me up, asked my color preference and sleeve style then went off and returned with a beautiful shirt. Marta reminded me of an old school tailor (for those of you who has ever been to one) who pulled, straightened, and adjusted all while smiling, talking, and complimenting. She was so chipper that I even purchased a second shirt. The feel of the material was also very sharp, The cut was precise. I would drive that 1.5 hours again to get the same quality merchandise and service.

Yelp
Absolutely horrendous customer service. Do not recommend. I opted for an email before leaving a review and Marta called me back to offer a condescending apology. I don't need a back rub, I need a refund. Louis Puig is the creator/owner of Club Space, Wynwood Factory, and I'm sure others. Louis, you can afford better and more honest customer service than this. I've also tried to leave this review on their Facebook page but they've blocked me (real experience reviews get blocked). No refunds or store credits. Not even within 9 hours of purchase due to a change in plans. Marta kept mentioning to look at the receipt. When I asked, "The receipt that is printed after purchase to see the policy?", her story changed that the employees always mention this policy before purchase (absolutely did not happen). I spoke with Marta (in charge of the store) and she did mention that if it was 3 hours later, she would accept the return. But she cannot go against the policy after that. The return would've been sooner if the store didn't close at 4pm and the shirt was purchased at 3:30pm. Arrival time to return was two hours after they opened the next day. Almost $200 for one shirt that will sit in a closet because she is unwilling to run a simple transaction. She also mentioned that this return policy is in place due to Covid-19... and that people try to return after wearing the shirts.. but that they can exchange.... See how the math isn't adding up? The owners are out of the country because their family is very ill. What this over share has to do with this transaction. I don't know. I work in customer service and though the customer is not always right. This is not the way to run a business nor treat your patrons.

Yelp
Marta helped us find my husband the PERFECT guayabera! This place is authentic and highly highly recommend! Love the variety, selection, and quality!

Yelp
I never write reviews but... First time here with my grandmother and the worst customer experience received ever..My grandmother has talked so highly of this place and has even bought from the owner Cora, directly but the lady that received us on FEBRUARY 22,2023 was rushing us to purchase and nasty attitude to the point I wanted to turn around and go. Was there to purchase a gift but left with an unhappy experience of the place.. great products but bad customer services.

Yelp
For my second time this week I came in with my family to buy a shirt. I had purchased one earlier in the week. For the second time the customer service was not good at all. Being the only people in the store both times I felt more like an inconvenience rather than a customer. As my father picked out a shirt I found another shirt on a rack marked 25 percent off. When I went to pay for the shirt I was told it was incorrectly priced. She then took the 25 percent sign off the clothing rack and put it behind the register. Extremely unpleasant place to shop. Plenary of other options especially in this area.

Yelp
I've purchased over 10 Guayaberas over the years when Ramon Puig was here including a couple of custom tailored ( close to $500) I will just say this "Ramon was a businessman true to his word". Whoever's is running it now, don't know if it's his son Luis, not so much. Not realizing they had reopened I was excited to purchase here, these are not same shirts Ramon sold seems like they just slap a tag on inside with his name. Check around you'll find much better. Very disappointed, looks good in closet.

Yelp
Best place in Miami for authentic Guayaberas!! Quality is exceptional!!!! Customer Service is customer centered!!

Yelp
Came here after being at another guayabera place. Was a little hesitant thinking they would not be very helpful since that was our experience at the other place. WELL we where greeted by a very nice lady who asked what was the occasion for the guayabera. I explained that it was our daughters wedding on Saturday. she asked what time where etc. She took a look at my husband and said "I will be right back". She came back with two guayaberas - BEAUTIFUL AND ELEGANT!!! He tried them both on - one was a little too short - the other fit perfectly!!! Looked like it was made for him. She explained that it can be used with cuff links - etc SHE WAS AMAZING!!!! We HIGHLY recommend Ramon Puig - WE WILL BE BACK!! Thank you for an amazing experience on such an important event in our lives!!

Yelp
If you live in Miami and don't own a guayabera - you don't know what you are missing. This versatile garment can be worn for formal occasions, casual events, going out, or even just hanging with the boys for cigars and dominoes. Instead of sweating your balls off in a suit the next time you have a beach wedding, wear a guayabera and you'll not only look cool, but feel cool as a cucumber as well. But if you are going to do it, you might as well do it right. Don't buy a "Cubavera" or any cheap imitation guayabera. You need to go to Ramon Puig as this is the original "House of the Guayabera". Ramon Puig has been producing the Rolls-Royce of Guyaberas for over 40 years. If it's good enough for Presidents Reagan, Bush, and Clinton, then it's surely good enough for your monkey ass. Guayaberas here run from the high end Irish and Japanese linen to linen hybrids to cotton/polyester mixes. They also come in a variety of colors and sizes. The good stuff isn't cheap, but it is silky smooth to the touch and ooooh so cool to the skin. The staff here is great and will help you find that proper fit. They also have a variety of pants and hats if you want to go all out Cuban. The best part is after you find the perfect guayabera, you can just pop next door to El Mago de Las Fritas for a bite and complete your Little Havana experience. Walk in a gringo, and leave a Papi Chulo.....

Yelp
Ramon Puig, proprietor and master tailor of this store, is a venerable institution in and of himself. He's made guayaberas for presidents - Reagan, George Bush (the first), and Bill Clinton - and proudly displays the photos. Interspersed are celebrity shots as well - Ricky Martin among them. The store is large, with low ceilings and poor lighting. We received an offer of help in Spanish, though there was an adequate smidgeon of English available for us to communicate. Circular racks are jammed near each other with hundreds of plastic-wrapped guayaberas -- in the Classic Cuban style (loose, with long vertical pleats running the length of the front of the shirt). It was a little difficult to browse, but after a while it becomes apparent that all one needs to do is find the size and type of fabric desired (blends, all linen, cotton, etc.) as the designs on the front of the shirts are all the same. You won't find the elaborate embroidery of Mexican guayas here. However, if you're simply looking for a classic Cuban guayabera shirt with its clean, elegant lines and exceptional tailoring, this is the place for you. Women's styles are also available. And the stuff ain't cheap. An all-linen shirt will run you close to $100; we opted for a linen blend that was about $70.

Yelp
I believe this business is closed. I really wanted a guayabera for my nephew and wanted it from here, of course. Google Maps says its open. Their website says its open. But at 1pm on Saturday the windows were shuttered.

Yelp
I am now official - finally bought my first Guayabera! Loved the selections and the lady working answered all of my questions and was very accommodating. I bought 2 and I'm pretty sure I'll be back soon...

Yelp
This place is hands down the best guayabera store I've ever been to. If you are serious about owning an authentic guayabera, save yourself the hassle of walking around on Calle 8 or shopping at department stores because you're not going to find something better. I stumbled upon this place after visiting several other stores and funny enough was wearing a guayabera of my own when I shopped here. I mentioned I was wearing a guayabera of my own, a Cubavera, and it looked cheap next to the 100% linen (the authentic ones are 100% linen) guayabera I purchased. Walk around the store and you'll find a large assortment of guayaberas as well as see custom guayaberas being made on site. I had no idea these shirts could be worn at formal events and have a new respect for guayaberas thanks to Ramon Puig Guayaberas. The next time I buy a guayabera, I'm going to order direct from the store and have them ship it to me. I doubt I'll ever find a place like this again.

Yelp
Its on calle ocho. Need anyone say more? This place has everything and service to remind you of family helping you pick something out. You will get great advice, whether you like it or not. They offer something for everyone. And the colors range from the classic colors our granparents wear to today's trends. Do brace yourself for the prices. You're going to love this place.
google avatar

Richard L.

Yelp
This place has been around forever and I"m not surprised. They have hundreds of different guayaberas to choose from and will tailor it on the spot. Be prepared to spend some money if you want a good quality, classic that will last you a very long time. These are kind of a staple living in Miami. They are considered formal. So much so that I have worn them as a groomsmen for a summer wedding. Ramon Puig is a legend in Miami and for valid reason.
google avatar

R P.

Yelp
I bought two Irish Linen Guayaberas and I couldn't be happier. This is the real Cuban Guayabera, everything else is an imitation. Ronald Reagan, Silvestre Stallone wore the same. That should tell you something about Ramon Puig. The Guayabera King.
google avatar

Frank X.

Yelp
Have to say this is a bit of a niche product that I wish more people locally would embrace. It's a pretty cool looking shirt. The minuses is that there's really only 1 pattern/style and being handmade the sizing can be quite hit or miss (you really need to try each on for fit) and they tend to be pricey. The plusses are that you can get yours in almost any color or fabric you would want up to the high-end linens. Personally it think it's a bit like owning a tuxedo -- if you're gonna own 1 why would you take a men's wearhouse model? (No offense to men's wearhouse.) Whichever one you choose to get, definitely pay the extra to have it altered to your shape. If you're gonna get 1 might as well get it to fit you like a custom shirt, right?

Yelp
If you want the best Guayaberas this is the place to go! Sales people are very professional and help you along the way. We left with a classic white short sleeve Guayabera for my friends grandfather and he loved it!
google avatar

Jon Z.

Yelp
The White Irish Linen Guayabera I bought here is beautiful and classic. They have lots of other really nice colors too. They do have deals on cheaper materials so don't cry about the price of the Irish Linen if you don't want to spend. Staff was friendly and helpful. Tamiami Trail lover from Sarasota to Calle Ocho.

Yelp
This is a wonderful store. There are a LOT of guayaberas in stock. I tried to order a guayabera from them on line a few years ago, and got the wrong size. I had to go to Miami for work, and visiting them was at the top of my list. Sadly, Sr. Puig is no longer alive, but the business is in good hands - very helpful and friendly staff got me what I needed with professional ease. I could have left there with 20 shirts, but cut myself off at 5...for now. Highly recommended - great product, great people. Go there and you will NOT be disappointed. Gracias, Ramon Puig Guayaberas!

Raymond B.

Yelp
Raymond Bä Drove from Stuart to Ramon Puig in Miami (SW 8th St) after reading the reviews and history. Was NOT disappointed. The staff was particularly courteous and patient. after determining style and material (linen) THEY decided it needed a slight alteration. The seamstress came out and did her thing and walla, went to lunch, came back in 2 hours to a perfectly fitted Guayabera. I didn't think I could be any more handsome, but I was wrong. Beautiful Beautiful Beautiful, and the shirt is too. If you don't go to Ramon Puig, to at least check out their product and knowledgeable sales staff, then you have missed an experience.

Maria M.

Yelp
Very nice guayaberas I bought one for my 4 yr old they tailored it and had it ready for me next day! Excellent customer service.
google avatar

S D.

Yelp
There's not much cuter than a baby in a guyabera so we stopped by to get our little guy outfitted. Considering how many colors and styles there are for adults I was surprised there wasn't the greatest selection for the smaller gentleman. Ultimately it didn't matter because what they did have was perfect in white linen and well-tailored. They also only had long sleeve but the seamstress on site tailored it to short sleeves in about 15 minutes. With more choice of color and material I would give this place five stars, but my four star review takes nothing away from the great service and attention we were shown during our visit.

Joe M.

Yelp
Best place in the USA if you want an authentic Guayabera shirt. I recently bought my 6th shirt in Irish linen shirt and also bought my 7/yr old grandson one as well. Now my grandson and I wear matching shirt. I'm sure we will impress the senoritas!

Nina R.

Yelp
Was looking for a guayabera for my boyfriend and the Dominican lady working there was super rude and not helpful. As I was about to buy a $150 guayabera, I decided to look online and realized that they are way cheaper online. Also, make sure to open the shirt from the plastic wrapper. A lot of them are actually dirty and stained!

Mikey B.

Yelp
A month ago I was calling the store and the man over the phone was incredibly rude and couldn't even give me a price for a shirt

Maggie A.

Yelp
I bought a Guayabera as a birthday gift for my son. The shirt was too big and we went back to exchange it for a size smaller. It turned out that the same shirt was $25.00 more when we went back for an EVEN EXCHANGE a week later. The salesman was very unprofessional and I was very upset that $25.00 more was added for an EVEN EXCHANGE. SHAME ON THEM for taking customers for a sucker. No money just exchanges and they get you anyway. There are other places for guayaberas in Miami, I will never return there again. Just warning the rest of you.

Alex P.

Yelp
With summer coming on, I thought that I would purchase a high end Guayabera to go to formal events here is South Florida. Miami is the perfect city for such a garment, blending the tropics with "Latin Chic" . I ventured over to "La Casa De Las Guayaberas" with the hopes of purchasing the classic "Ramon Puig" designed shirt. The store had many Guayaberas to choose from. I was lucky enough to find a shirt made of high end "Irish Linen", well fitted and fashionable. When I asked the salesperson if they could alter the shirt in their tailoring department, she happily assured me that any tailoring could be done. The salesperson brought me into the back and introduced me to the tailor, an "abuelita" who has been making and altering Guayaberas for many years. She went ahead and began "pinning" the shirt, adjusting the cuffs and marking areas were "double stitching" would take place. During this process, I noticed that the seamstress was becoming nervous. I asked her what was wrong, and she told me that the manager was on the phone, apparently speaking to the owner. The manager was asking the owner how much they needed to charge for the alterations. Although the Guayabera cost $150 and I thought that the alterations should be included for their "top of the line" shirt, I paid no mind to the exchange as I was very happy with the product. However, the situation become strange, as the manager asked to speak with the seamstress in private. When she came back, I asked her what was happening. The seamstress told me that the owner did not want for her to "Double Stitch" the shirt, that "Double Stitching" was reserved for their $500+ custom shirts. I felt that this was wrong. If the store had a tailoring department, and the salesperson assured me that alterations could be completed, why could they not perform a "Double Stitch" on the shirt? Unfortunately, I left the store without purchasing the shirt. Although the product itself is good, I felt that the owner and manager were operating in a deceitful manner, making the purchase of the "Ramon Puig" Guayabera a potentially dirty business.
