Rampila Restaurant

This is undoubtedly one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to. The atmosphere is charming — a hidden gem tucked within the fortified city walls. The staff are warm, friendly, and attentive, always welcoming guests with a smile. A friend and I visited twice during our stay — we had lunch first, and it was so good that we decided to return for dinner. Every dish was beautifully balanced, bringing out the natural flavours of the ingredients while enhancing them with thoughtful use of herbs and spices. The grilled octopus, in particular, was exceptional — so good we ordered it both times. This place is a must-visit in Valletta. Highly recommended!

Rampila sits inside Valletta’s historic bastion walls with a vaulted dining room and a terrace built along the ramparts. The setting is special and worth seeing. Food leans Maltese + Mediterranean with dishes like rabbit and the house crab and lobster ravioli in prawn bisque. Execution on our visit was fine but nothing felt particularly inventive and the quality to price ratio was weak for what arrived at the table. Service was friendly and the atmosphere unique, yet for the cost I expected clearer flavors and more ambition on the plate. For me it is a place to visit for the location rather than for standout cooking.

I’d come here again. Everything was perfect. They don’t have many Maltese options. The steak was so good, pistachio cake was awesome. However the service was kind of slow. We finished our appetizers before the bottle of wine came. It seemed like they can’t keep up with the crowd.

Beautiful and unique location, the view from the terrace is impressive, but the indoor dining area is also very nice. The food is really good (I would recommend the lobster and crab ravioli and grilled octopus) and service is amazing. Highly recommend!

The food was absolutely amazing! We had delicious starters, followed by mouthwatering main dishes the rabbit was exceptionally amazing along with the crab soup , and two bottles of wine — a rosé and a red, both of which were exceptional. The dessert was the perfect finish to an already perfect meal. The restaurant also has a lovely patio, ideal for enjoying a cigar to wrap up the evening. The waiters were incredibly friendly, with a great sense of humor, making the experience even more enjoyable. 10/10, highly recommend for an unforgettable dining experience.

The staff is very decent and nice, they are very welcoming and always smiling. The food was perfect we ordered the Salmon from the main course and lobster and crab ravioli. I gave the food 4 stars because the portion of the ravioli was relatively small other than that it was perfect. Also we had canoli and cheese cake for dessert and both were delicious and off very good quality. Highly recommended if you’re in Valletta.

Great tastes. A lovely space for a date. I liked it a lot. I almost fainted of how tasty the artichokes were on top of my steak with the steak gravy on top of them . Fantastic recipe. Keep up the good work guys.

A nice restaurant within a vault. The food itself was good - nothing wow wow wow to write home about, but it was decent, particularly the braised beef cheek. The rabbit was ok. The service was quick, attentive and super friendly.
