We had a great experience at this campground. The front desk service was impeccable. Very nice people and I stress it. Our campsite was great, bathrooms were clean and laundry room was pretty decent. We were there a little before the season started so it wasn’t crowded yet, allowing plenty of privacy, which we enjoy. Also the campground is dog-friendly and all dogs we encountered were well behaved. We thoroughly enjoyed our two-nights stay 🙂

I have to say I was hesitant to go after reading the reviews but we went and took our chances. This place was amazing. The pool was so nice, the sites had trees and were level, there was a movie room for the kids, the laundry room was great and we were able to do 4 loads. The office closed and I couldn't get more quarters so the NEW management gave me quarters from his stash. There were 6 of us and the showers did not disappoint. They were clean and the water was hot (unlike the campground from the night before we stayed at, cold as hell) I couldn't be happier with a campground and I have been in a lot of campgrounds but this is at the top of my list if I go back to Santa Fe. Thank you management for a wonderful stay.

Google
Pull through site was very nice, with privacy of pinon pines and junipers on either side of the site. Sites are a bit narrow, so be careful with slideouts. Leveling blocks are necessary to assure the RV is level as the campground is on hilly ground in spots and my campsite had some rutting out of the gravel that rendered it uneven. Fire pit and picnic table included. Lots of birds in the morning, and the ethereal scent of area trees adds to the charm throughout the day. Front office staff is very friendly, check-in was a breeze. Highly recommend. Only about 15 minutes from the center of Santa Fe but far enough to be in the country.

Google
3 stars because the people I dealt with in person were nice. This is not a big rig friendly park (we have a 38' fifth wheel). There are sites that fit you but the windy narrow roads to get to spots are not ideal, especially if you are not experienced. I'm not sure how some people got their diesel pushers in to spots. The majority of the park is on the hillside. We booked a site and we're called and told it would not fit us (website said it would) . Not a problem, she rebooks us. We get there and the site they moved us to is not possible without hanging up the whole rig. We would have torn off our stabilizers. A very nice lady moved us to another spot and luckily no one was beside us so that I could park my truck there. One day the power and well pump were shut off because the power company was doing pole work. I called up to ask if they knew what the plan was on the well since we had just emptied our tank and everything had already been off for half a day. I was told about the meeting they had with the line crew going over the plan to shut the park down. But the park then never let us know? We could have topped off our tanks and got the generator going so my work wasn't cut off during calls. Again, whoever I talked to on the phone was nice but not a good customer experience at all. The spot we were in had trees/ bushes cut down at some time in the past but stumps were left anywhere from 4-6" high. I tripped over them a few times setting up/taking down. Black tank cover was just broken off and sitting on the pipe. Electric panel cover was barely hanging on with the light cover broken off it. "Aged" is a description I saw others use and I'd agree. People with smaller rigs may enjoy some of the treed spots. Hopefully the friendly folks they have working there will get a plan to improve the park. Pretty quick drive to get in to Santa Fe. Quiet for the most part. Priced high for what it was.

Google
A gorgeous place to get away from the city. The sites are fantastic, Chelsea was such a pleasure, and my kids are loving the playground and pool. (Although, they would have loved it even more if it was heated. Little on the chilly side.) Will be bringing my Girl Scout troop back in July.

Google
Lots of space between sights, much larger than most private campgrounds, most RV sights have trees and bushes between them. Beautiful location and scenery. Christi in the office was very friendly and helpful even after hours. Very relaxing and quiet location. Easy to get to from the highway but far enough that there was little traffic noise audible in the campground. The campground had a natural feel in that the campsites were gravel and dirt and some leveling of RV is required. Bathroom, shower and laundry in excellent condition. Obvious upgrades have been done to include new water and electric hookups and new propane refill station was being set up when we were there.

Google
This is a beautiful campground! I loved all the juniper and pinion pine! The campground hosts were very sweet and helpful. We stayed in one of the cabins, and we were pleased with how nice and surprisingly roomy it was. It was great to have AC inside, and a fire pit, table, and water spigot right at the campsite. The amenities in the common areas were nice. Our kids loved the playground. There are just a couple things that hold me back from giving it a 5 star review: The guard rail on the top bunk of the bunkbed was really small. We were worried about our kids falling off the bed. The hot water in the showers was unreliable. The pool wasn't open most of the time we were there. Also, when we got there we found notices warning about an e-coli problem. We hadn't been given any notice of this issue and there was nothing about it on the website I could see. It would have been nice to have prior warning that we needed to bring our own drinking water.

Google
A beautiful campground in the hills near Santa Fe. Some spots are on the tighter side and the place isn't uniform, but honestly that adds to the charm. Its not a KOA. The grass is not exactly 1.5" tall and there is no picket fence. It doesn't feel so much like an RV park as RV spots in a National Park. You get genuine New Mexico outdoors, with some basic amenities (Pool, Laundry, Bathrooms, store) so you're not roughing it. And trees. So many trees <3

Bill H.

Yelp
Everything about this place was outstanding. Some of the best food we had in Santa Fe.

Yelp
Pretty cool RV park, I chose the location based on the amenities they had and stuff to do for the kids. Our site was the first one next to check in and parking the trailer was easy enough. Right next to us is a theater that plays movies every night, tonight it was Wakanda Forever. Next to that is a pool the kids enjoyed and a playground. The general store is right across from the pool. There is a nature trail and lots of sites in the trees, the tree sites looked pretty cool and I would have liked one of those. You don't pick your site but are assigned one they say of arrival. Most of the sites in the trees are water/electric only. I highly recommend getting one of those and just using the onsite dump station when you leave. I wandered around the camp site and I have to say that some of the tent sites are awesome, they're really set up for a good time. The bathrooms are fine and were clean when I used them. Only downside of the place was the reoccurring sewer smell around the site. It was strong around our site and the playground, another camper mentioned they had it in another site. It came and went so it wasn't as issue most of the time, there were also huge wind gusts and maybe that had something to do with it. Internet was good but there is no T-Mobile service here, wifi calling seemed to work okay. Enjoy the camp, from the top you get some good views and sunsets.

Yelp
The pool was clearly advertised on website & on the main road (huge flag says pool) and it was closed!!The clubhouse was locked shut, which was another false advertisement. The playground had tons of trash all over the floor. This place was far from family friendly. Very upset pool closure was not mentioned upon booking. The pool is our kids outlet after a long drive. Shame on you.

Yelp
Be warned - roads and paths inside campground are uneven and turns are narrow, especially for big rigs. However, if you have a spotter then it's perfect to camp under shade of piñon trees and the starry New Mexican skies. Our family enjoyed movie night, the POOL, ping pong and proximity to Pecos National Park.

Yelp
Got to Santa Fe, and even though we had reservations in advance, seems like they put us in a last minute spot. They tried to accommodate us and moved us to another spot. The alternate site thus far is the smallest site we have ever camped. First time ever we did not have room to set up our camp chairs outside, could not even put out the awning. The "patio" area is only 3 feet wide, at best. It was challenging setting up the sewer drain line since the connection was somewhat "uphill". We are disappointed, but we are only here 2 days and leave tomorrow.. This looks like a very nice campground and many of the sites are beautiful. It seems like they are going for quantity not quality for ALL the sites and that is disappointing.

Yelp
We liked this park for the two nights we stayed visiting friends in Santa Fe. The staff who checked us in were very friendly and helpful. The park is setup on the gentle slop!of a hillside. Includes a little store, nice dog park, swimming pool and a short little hiking trail on the back side of park. Our pull through site felt more like a campground than rv park. The road into our site was bouncy and rough but we handled okay with our 36 MH. There are some RVers who would probably be turned off by this but we like the trade off of a tree lined site after being in some of the desert sites for the last 4 months. It's about 20 minutes from Santa Fe.

Yelp
Amazing place to tent camp! Fire pits, picnic tables with awning coverage. Running water and clean restrooms. There are showers and a pool. Laundry washing and a theatre room. This is ran very well and the people are kind and friendly. Highly recommend if you are looking for a quiet place to camp for the night.

Yelp
Visited Santa Fe and booked a cabin at Rancheros so we could feel safe during Covid. The cabin was around $55 a night and has a small table, storage, a full bunk bed, electricity, campfire area with a picnic table and a quaint front porch with a nice bench to hang out on. Bathrooms are located throughout the park and by the main office so that would be the "Ruffin it" part. Bathrooms/showers were very clean and they had strict rules that only one at a time or same party customers were allowed. Staff was friendly as I purchased ice in the main office for our cooler every morning. Campground is minutes from Santa Fe and an hour from Albuquerque. We loved the half mile trail behind camp and saw deer one afternoon walk. Our kids loved the playground and we took them every evening to tire them out. We will def be returning soon!

Yelp
A hidden Gem! Yes, it's a bit rustic, but in this area, they all are. Has a hiking trail for the dogs, an outbuilding to host a couple of outsiders, great people! But, I have to give kudos to the office. Ann, WOW! we arrived several weeks prior to the balloon festival for my daughters wedding which was down the road. We had a reservation in another resort, but it was not going to work. Ann was able to get us into the park, for 3+ weeks. And by the way we extended 2ice. She was on it, there wasn't anything she couldn't do. This resort is simply amazing and willing to work with you for anything! I will always stay here when we are back in Santa Fe, and just saying, the staff is amazing, all of them!

Yelp
Great park. So many different kinds of sites. Lots of room between sites. Hiking trail and a dog park too. Pool was closed because of the time of year. Full hook ups. Level sites. Everything well maintained. Employees were so friendly.

Yelp
We arrived into Santa Fe with campground reservations for our travel trailer at another location but it was after hours and had issues with electrical outlet so we changed locations. I called Rancheros and the lady that helped me was very friendly.

Yelp
Wonderful place. Nice people. Shaded sites. True desert experience. Kiddos had a great time. Close to Santa Fe and all it has to offer. Very relaxing. Ohh and the office/store/gift shop was fun too!

Yelp
The staff lie about people, lie to law enforcement agencies, I actually have .mp4 and video files documenting these matters. They do not clean their restrooms appropriately or adequately. I actually left a penny in the shower stall. Went back a few weeks later. The penny was unmoved. The staff especially Phyllis and Tony lie to guests. Lie about guests. When I told Tony that I would be writing this review, he intentionally hung up on me. I called back and he told me that thus review was a threat. I have news for you Tony, it I not a threat. Your potential guests need to know exactly how you treat the disabled that utilize service canines and other means of reasonable accommodation for personal accessibility. Including recording my phone calls. To any interested parties, I can provide you with the recorded phone calls Including the phone calls with law enforcement. Currently I am waiting to hear back from Santa Fe Sheriff Department in regards to pursuing charges against Tony for lying to law enforcement.

Yelp
False advertising...pool that we craved was closed. When we went to do laundry the sign on door stated last load at 6. As it was just after 6, again we were more than frustrated and we paid for full hookups/pull through. Off Rhoades to our site 69. Nice once we got in and leveled. But that said, nope.

Yelp
This is the second time we stayed at this place. I have to say and all the options down here in the Santa Fe area this is definitely a cool place to be. Pretty quiet and in the woods and off the beaten path. Sites are a little tight but we were able to make it work. Nice hub to get around the area. Staff so far was very nice. Throw is a hot tub and would make this location a solid 4 stars.

Lyle R.

Yelp
What a great camp ground with really great people. From Candace in the office to Trent and Rusty in the campground. My rig got stuck on a tree branch because I wasn't paying attention and Trent/Rusty came out and got me unstuck with no damage to our rig. Really a professional group of people (a sign of good management. ) We will definitely come back.

Yelp
Drove all the way to this place to be told their computer gremlins made a mistake and the price for our stay would actually 31 times higher than our confirmed reservation states. I've included the reservation confirmation as I received it after making the reservation. They made no effort to make up for their ineptitude. Nice looking cation otherwise, but "No Exit" "Reservation Confirmation From Rancheros De Santa Fe Campground ..., Thank you for booking with Rancheros De Santa Fe Campground. Yelp
Just not impressed. Sites need some tlc. The entire campground could use some TLC I'm all for natural but when you are paying over $40 a night and your packed into rv slots instead of spaces I want to see some that they care about your experience and you don't get that from here. It's a great overnighter or if you have plenty of things to do away from campground. The location is it's only 5 star potential it is in a beautiful location

Marilyn A.

Yelp
Handy is about all I can say. It is basically a gravel, dirt and pothole campground. Small sites. The office staff is nice enough but doesn't make up for the poor upkeep. We were here 4 nights and were never able to sit outside due to space, dust, etc. it was a good parking spot while we visited surrounding area but about 20 minutes from Santa Fe. Great restaurants up the road though, Harry's roadhouse and Café Fina. That's we recommend highly. Also just across the highway there's a new area going in and it has a couple restaurants and a grocery store which we did not realize until too late. If you come this way don't forget to travel up the road a bit to Chimayo. Lots of history there. Santa Fe was crowded and impossible to find a parking place.

David S.

Yelp
This is a diamond in the rough. It's far enough from Downtown Santa Fe to see the stars, but close enough to get there in 15 mins. The folks that run the place are friendly, attentive, and have a great little curio shop. A little dusty overall, but everything functioned, and it was quiet. I highly recommend this.

Yelp
This is my second time in Santa Fe. Spent 3 nights at Rancheros with my two dogs. I heard about this place from a friend. I'm surprised by the negative reviews as I had an excellent experience there. Although somewhat dated, the amenities were nonetheless kept clean and well maintained. The bathrooms, pool, and small dog run area were very clean and I felt safe walking around alone at night. For $50 a night in a cabin, I wasn't expecting a 5 star resort. But for me and my dogs it was perfect and there are trails all around that they loved. Also, it's only about a 10 minute drive to downtown Santa Fe. I would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
This is our second excursion to Rancheros and we're just as impressed as last time. So much so, we're spending June and July here! We're in an RV and love the 50 amp service. Full hookups. Plenty of room for our dinghy to park as well. Back in site is big enough for multiple slide outs. The park is spread out and camp sites are not on top of each other. And the layout is not cookie cutter, you feel like you're camping in the woods. We have a Rott and a Blue Heeler who love the hiking trail, it winds around behind the property and runs along a ridge giving great views! All the sites are clean, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, the store is well-stocked, and the wi-fi is fast and free! Don't be put off by the distance to 'town.' The plaza and downtown are nice, but it's so nice to be away from the madness. Not to mention the free-spirited drivers! And with the development of El Dorado, just south on 285, there are coffee shops, restaurants, grocery stores, and gas less than 10 minutes away. Other things that make this park special are: - enclosed dog run - nightly family movies - a pool! (yes, this is hard to find in Santa Fe!) - sunset views - bath house consitently clean We love the feel of this place, where you're not looking out your window into your neighbors rig. Even better is it feels safe - we have no trouble letting our kids go to the movies or the store alone. All in all, a great place to camp in Santa Fe!
google avatar

Yelp
Went here based on their full page ad in the Good Sam directory. Must have been written by an advertising pro, as most of it wasnt true. For instance, the ad states that its in a rustic wooded setting, they fail to mention you are still a few yards from a highway. "Hot showers in a clean restroom", not true. Dirty, out dated restroom, mildewy walls around windows, filthy floor, and non existent water pressure, cold bathroom, cold water. Sites spaced very close together, high traffic made me uneasy walking the dogs. Run down playground with an old steep, wobbly slide. Wont be going back the next time we visit Santa Fe.

Yelp
We always staid at the KOA. Decided to give this campground a try after seeing the Web page. I don't believe I would stay here again. The site they gave us was nice but needed cleaned of weeds. My grandson's cleaned us a path to the picnic table with a hola hoe we got from the people running the campground. We were told we could have a camp fire. If we would of built one before the weeds were cleaned I think we might of set the whole campground on fire. This place could be real nice with some TLC! My wife said this is the worst place we have staid. We have been traveling and camping for over ten years. I'll stay at the KOA next time around.

Yelp
First of all I despise places that charge you extra for having a family,$4 per person after 2 people. Then the washers are $3 per load, highest I paid in 2 weeks of camping. Laundry closes at 8pm and doesn't open until 8am,so if you arrive late and leave early you can't wash. We went to the pool at 7:30pm and it was closed. It closes at 7pm,why,the people in office didn't know. The office is open until 8pm so why does the pool close at 7pm on a hot summer day? The spaces were very uneven with ruts and rain canyons in them. It was nice that trees/shrubs were between each space. Picnic table and fire ring at each site. Some have full hook ups, some don't. This is a good 15-20 minutes from downtown Santa Fe. Not really close to anything. It's quiet and there's good wifi only at the patio by the restrooms. I wouldn't stay again. The couples working in office get 5 stars for being so nice.

Yelp
So I saw this place on a google search. I came here for tent camping. It's a quaint place at a reasonable price. Not too much to complain about. Staff checked us in and made sure we had everything we needed. The shower/bathroom is clean. They have a pool that I didn't get to try but looked nice. Very peaceful at night. I'm sitting on the bench by the office and the air is cool and the sound of crickets fills the air and it's very nice. The camping spots are a little small but reasonable. My only complaint would maybe be too close to other sites but we are not near anyone so that's fine. Good view of the stars. My only real complaint is we couldn't have a fire because of the fire ban which was very disappointing but not their fault. Also someone has roosters and they are obnoxious in the morning lol. Not bad for a night or two!

Hank H.

Yelp
Stayed here for just one night (thankfully) on my way to Colorado. Car camping with a tent, I arrived after the office closed, but had reserved a site over the phone. PROS - Very friendly staff on the phone. - Paperwork, including a map with my site highlighted, was left for me under a weatherproof covering. CONS - Sites close to one another, very cramped with little privacy. - Sites full of large, sharp rocks. - Large ant hills in my site and others I looked at. - WiFi did not work. - Bright overhead lights shining on many sites, including mine. - Picnic table was placed over the fire ring despite there not being any restrictions. I was by myself and didn't want to try dragging the table, hence I had no fire. - Lots of freeway noise. - Dogs started barking at 5:15 a.m. - Dirty bathroom/shower building.

Yelp
We stayed here during Spring Break. We called ahead to let them know we were running late. Tom, the host said, that was fine pay when we get up the next morning. He also advised to keep the water hoses unhooked every night because it dipped below freezing. Cute park! Off of Route 66. We would use it again. It's also quiet and we backed up to the Route 66 rd. Enjoyed it!

Yelp
I had a miscommunication with the front office and they helped me work it out. I had a pleasant stay

P K.

Yelp
When you pay for water AND electric you expect to get exactly that. Quite a hectic morning scrambling thru the motorhome looking for an electric extension cord long enough to reach the vacant site next to us (rather than disconnect and move). Finally found a cord and were able to have breakfast and ready ourselves for the day ahead. Upon reporting the electrical failure to the office they responded by saying they'd jave someone look at it. No compensation for our inconvenience was ever mentioned. Last visit to this campground for sure.

Trey K.

Yelp
Worst RV Park in Santa Fe. We tried to reserve a space at this RV park, but they NEVER sent a confirmation that we had a space after reserving on-line. We attempted to call several times, but were never able to reach anyone to confirm a reservation. We assumed they were out of business, so we made a reservation at the Santa Fe Skies (which was AWESOME by the way!). A lady called AFTER we didn't check-in. When my husband tried to explain the situation, she hung up on him & charged us at a higher than 1 night stay rate anyway. We will be making a complaint through our credit card company, as soon as we return from vacation. Do NOT give them a cent of your $!!

John R.

Yelp
This is a dirtbag of a place. The bathrooms are run down and filthy. The sites are half flat for your camper the then a hill for your truck making it really difficult to unhitch and hitch. The roads are beat up and full of potholes. Had I known how bad this place was I would not have stayed here. The timing and situation put me I a position to stay 3 nights but really I should have just moved to the koa down the road. Do not stay even if you need to be in Santa. Fe. It is ten miles from Santa Fe.

Yelp
Although the staff, especially Tracy, were friendly and very willing to help, we will not return to this campground. The Rancheros ad is misleading in saying you feel as though you are camping in a National Forest. The numerous dog manure piles around the campground will convince you otherwise. The Campground is disheveled and messy looking. The cable television signal is weak resulting in a very fuzzy picture. Water lines to campsites lay visible on the ground surface. Unfortunately we were placed next to a "Therapy Dog" coach inhabited by at least 5 small white terriers who, with their owners absent, barked at me the entire time it took me to set up my site, plus into the evening hours. I had to seek therapy myself after a couple hours of non-stop yapping. Although the campground personnel attempted to reach the owner on his/her cell phone, they were unsuccessful though a message was left on the owner's voice mail including the sound of their barking dogs. Obviously rude dog owners who broke a well known campground rule of never leaving their dogs unattended. I cannot pin this specific dog problem on the campground but it did set the tone for a disappointing camping experience.

Yelp
Had a reservation here for four nights, but due to a long drive and early morning we decided to leave a night early. We decided this early on the second day (after our first night) and went down to the front desk to cancel the last night. The person working the front desk did not know the cancellation policy and told us to come back tomorrow. The next day we come back and the person working the desk tells us that despite our initial efforts, we would not be able to get a refund because we were beyond the 24 hours. The campsite is very nice, including wifi and a pool, however the staff could use some improvements.

Yelp
Worst night sleep ever. Tent site next to ours rolled in and started setting up at 2:08 AM, finished about 3:30, super loud, finally had to ask then to quit slamming car doors. Dogs barking in distance (either in cars/RVs or close by). Lots of highway noise. No fires AT ALL in dry weather, which they never said when we called.

Beverly L.

Yelp
Sites were small. We payed for a pull through and had to car off to get in site. Not room to leave car hooked up. They did refund for not being true pull through. Will not stay there again.

D K P.

Yelp
Worst parking, unhooking and access to utilities experience ever. We have stayed in over 50 parks across U.S. and have never seen such an un-level and downsloped (front to back) sites. Access to your site is met with terrible ruts, about 1 ft deep. Utility hookups are at non-standard locations. To reach pedestal, I had to pull forward, but then my hitch was about 1 ft below the TT. So I had to backup and borrow an extension 30 amp cable. When I un-hooked, my truck was at such a severe negative grade below my TT, I wasn't sure I could hook-up again. I didn't have enough blocks to raise my hitch to level the TT. If I had pulled forward to level, the rig next to me would be blocked as two sites share a single exit. To make our stay worse, we were about 4 ft from next rig, and no room for us to use the picnic table, and it had to be positioned directly over their sewer hookups. Bathhouse and restrooms okay. They recycled which was a plus along with a walking trail. Bottom Line: worst laid out, arranged and accessible park I've ever seen.

Yelp
stayed two nights in cabin. Cabin clean but would of liked if they had provided a broom to keep floor clean. Bathrooms clean but old, high mileage and some repair needed. Some RV/Tent sites not very desirable, pick wisely. Overall, for the price and location, not too bad.

Yelp
A pretty good campground, but a lot depends on the site. It does have all of the basic requirements. Leveling can be tricky. I did pick a site several months in advance after checking options by website and google sat map. We were booked for 2 weeks. When we arrived, the site we had picked was not available. Frankly we were going to leave since other available sites were not really acceptable. However they did some juggling and got us the site next to the one we had picked, which was fine. I would recommend either site 69 or 70 on Kiva Court. Location was good; atmosphere was nice and service was very good. Given the limited RV park options in the Santa Fe area, I would recommend this campground. A local did say that there was a very nice campground on Black Mountain, but not sure of distance from the city and we did not see it.
