Rancho Cerro Azul

We had an amazing time at ranchos. The house we stayed in was spacious, nicely decorated and private. We went for our honeymoon and it was possible to add some extra services for a small fee. In addition they decorated the room. Furthermore the staff was very friendly during our stay. An amazing extra for me was the free night tour the hotel offers. The guide Joseph is verry knowledgeable and very enthusiastic. As well there is lots's to see during the tour. Some additional tips: the bar next to the hotel serves good cocktails. There is also a great restaurant close to the hotel. Lastly go for a walk to the river when you have some extra time. It's a nice walk (around 30 min) and there is so much wildlife to see. All in all price-quality it is definitely one of the best hotels in the region.

The staff was great, very helpful, professional and friendly. The room was clean and was accurately depicted in the online photos. Resturant had good food and was beautifully setup. The property was well maintained and the rates we booked at were fairly priced. Location very well situated to many different ideal destinations. We would definitely return to the property if visiting the area again.

We had the pleasure of staying a week in one of there bungalows. It was clean and comfortable and house keeping came once a day making sure everything was all right. Staff were exceptional and attentive. They helped with booking tours and had a great laundry service. I would definitely stay again every time I come to La Fortuna.

The grounds are beautiful and have many flowering ginger plants. The cabins are clean and private. I enjoyed relaxing on the attached patio and lounging in the hammock. The staff, Roy, William and Isaac were friendly and helpful. The restaurant has good food and there is an also a tiki-style bar with delicious drinks. We also went on the night wildlife tour led by Joseph, which goes around a trail near the river which runs by the back of the hotel grounds. Great place and not far from the La Fortuna waterfall.

The accommodations are a good value. Staff was very accommodating and attentive. The location is excellent and close to the area attractions and to town. Breakfast is a bit pricey but was good. If you go to bed early then ask to stay in a cabin that is not right near the bar.

Our stay here was fantastic. The grounds were beautiful, it was quiet, and we saw wildlife both right outside our room and around the grounds. The staff was all very accommodating and helpful, especially William who went above and beyond to give us recommendations, book our tours, and overall just made us feel very welcome and at home. I would love to come back here someday.

Cerro Azul rooms are clean and comfortable. Staff is friendly and aims to please. Gardens are beautiful to walk around and enjoy. It has a great location to base your La Fortuna stay. I reduced to 4 stars as our room was right next to road which was quite noisy, and we also had some bats in our room.

What a fantastic spot! My wife and I have been heading to Costa Rica since the early 90s, and Rancho Cerro Azul brings back memories of those classic family-run hotels from back in the day. William and Andres were amazing hosts and really made our stay a blast. We stayed in cabin #9 right by the river, and honestly, it was perfect. You feel like you're right in the heart of the forest while kicking back on the balcony. Breakfast at the restaurant was top-notch, and happy hour at the bar with Isaac and Kenneth? Absolutely a must! We can't wait to come back!
