"Surrounded by the vast Sonoran Desert and endless skies stretching as far as the eye can see, Rancho de los Caballeros is poised as the perfect dude ranch experience. The resort is staffed by expert naturalists who are as eager to educate as they are knowledgeable and grooms who have the magic touch when it comes to pairing horses with riders—greenhorns, seasoned saddles, and everyone in between. But beyond the outdoorsy pull of the ranch, Rancho de los Caballeros encourages its guests to trade in the fast pace of everyday life for a moment and ease into a slower way of living. While younger guests learn how to ride and wrangle decoy steers at the Kids Club, older guests can explore more leisurely fun by booking hot stone massages at the Ranch Spa, or eating lunch at 19, the resort’s high-end dining concept. And there’s still more for the whole family to join in on at the lively pickleball courts and open fire cookouts where guests savor slow-cooked barbecue to the strumming of cowboy balladeers." - CNT Editors

"This dude ranch sits on 20,000 acres of Arizona desert with views of the Bradshaw Mountains. With a history that dates back to 1948, this stunning property brings families together through activities like horseback riding, tennis, and guided nature programs. There's also a Kids Club where anyone 5-12 can participate in daily crafts and activities. Keep in mind that Rancho de los Caballeros isn't a one-size-fits-all destination — here, you can select the all-inclusive package that works for you. All bookings include three meals a day, but some packages come with perks like a round of golf or an activity credit you can redeem for a day of horseback riding, skeet shooting, or spa time. The ranch is closed in the summer when the temperatures spike, but the golf course and spa are open year-round." - Travel + Leisure Editors

We had another great stay at the Ranch. This has become our preferred vacation spot. There are several things which make it special. The grounds are majestic and just pleasing to walk through. It is in a awesome desert setting.||The rooms are comfortable and well appointed. All the rooms are close to the dining room and pool. The pool is heated to a comfortable temperature. It is an architectural gem. The Ranch is building a new pool so the old one will be taken out. Looking forward to seeing the new one next time. ||The staff are what really make it a great place. They are warm and welcoming. As an example, we were on vacation with the in-laws who are mobility impaired. The front desk staff kindly upgraded their room so they could be next to us. This dramatically improved our quality of time with them. Rhiannon was so kind! The dining hall team is fantastic overall but special thanks to Tammy for all her help and thoughtfulness. We were there at the end of season so the dining hall was only open for breakfast. Lunch and dinner were at the golf club. We enjoyed our meals there and they were the best we had in Wickenburg. Tim and Chris were very helpful. In short, all the staff were great and really make the visit easy.||It is great to see the horses and the horse rides are an important part of the experience. The wranglers are knowledgable and professional. They also do a great job with the ring rides.||There is a fitness center which is has cardio, a few machines and free weights. We did not get a chance to do the spa or a yoga class. Maybe next time.||There are no Level 2 electric vehicle chargers on site. Hopefully management will consider adding some. Depending on your EV, you can go to a Tesla charger or Rivian charger in Wickenburg but it would be ideal if you did not have leave the Ranch.||The Ranch is a five star experience and we have already booked our next stay.

We have taken our family to this ranch for several years and always have a great time! Kids love all the activities they do in kids club and it gives the adults time to ride horses, golf etc. There is riding for all abilities and the wranglers are great! You do need to sign up for some activities before you go to be sure of availability. There is a spa on site and I had a great massage. They are expanding and adding an Olympic size pool and lap pool this summer. Los Cab is very family oriented and provides lots of fun for all!

What a beautiful get away. Great food and drinks and honestly some of the best staff members I've ever met. Beautiful trailing riding with calm sweet horse and amazing guides. The trap shooting instructor Jim made my first time shooting so much fun and felt nice and safe as well. What a great experience all around.

We loved each and every day. We stayed one week with our two boys 4yrs and 6yrs. Everything was great. The Mariposa suite, the food, the Spa and the friendly staff. It almost felt like family. We especially liked the kids club and the cook outs. We both did the lunch and dinner cookout. We can 100% recommend Rancho De Los Caballeros as this was one of the best vacations we have ever had!

My family of five and I traveled to Arizona for the first time just this week and this resort made our trip the best one we’ve had in years! We had two rooms that were connecting and the rooms were clean, spacious, and overall nice. They had so many activities and it was very welcoming for family’s with children. They constantly had things for us to do throughout the day. We did the horse ride through the desert which was everyone’s favorite. We also did Skeet shooting, archery, and penning. |The golf club located on the ranch was an oasis. We visited the driving range which was very reasonably priced for unlimited balls. We wanted to visit the restaurant there but the times were mixed up and we were unable to make it. The breakfast and lunch was great and the pool was so beautiful. It’s a very short drive into the small downtown of wickenburg for dinner or other meals. The dinner at the resort was also great, they had very large portions for children, and savory foods on their regular menu. If you are thinking about coming to a ranch in Arizona this is the one you must visit.

This ranch reminded me of Hemingway's Montoya hotel, the locale for aficionados. If you enjoy horseback riding or golf, or want to learn, I couldn't imagine a better place to go - the backdrop is stunning and the staff are fantastic and extremely accommodating. I went with my younger son. Neither of us had much riding experience, but were immediately put at ease by the skill of the wranglers. They try to have some variety each day with lunch cook outs and team penning, but you can easily enjoy a morning ride and afternoon activity every day without getting bored. The golf course is intertwined with the ranch, but it's well designed and not intrusive. You can easily get a day pass and hit balls at the range at any time, and the assistant pro fit my son in for a great lesson (he made a point of making it enjoyable, at his level, and stoking his interest). We had excellent instruction at the archery range, who made us feel right at home trying something new. ||The food is decent, and I felt there was real value with the meal plan (which includes an amazing breakfast buffet, as well as lunch buffet and three course dinner). The dinner menu didn't change over the week, but they offered daily specials. The steak and game (I had the elk one night) were perfectly cooked. On the evenings my son was too tuckered out for a sit down meal, they were great about bringing the food over to our room. We also found out quickly this isn't a vacation spot for sleeping in. The morning buffet closed promptly at 9am, with the expectation most guests were getting their day going by then. I was surprised there wasn't a children's lunch menu, but the staff were extremely helpful again when my son couldn't find something to eat.||The room itself was clean and very comfortable, with a ton of space, and homey atmosphere. There really wasn't much in terms of luxury or extras, but the emphasis was really on getting you out and about the property. The concierge and front desk were extremely responsive, and had nothing but positive interactions with them. ||Overall, we had a wonderful time. This place feels like a real undiscovered secret.

Google
Total confusion over where we were to eat!! Go to golf course. Get there and they say we are closed. Go to main dining room! Took 3 hours for our party to eat. Too bad as this was my 13 or 14th visit over the past 50 years. Hope you get this straightened out!!

Google
Stayed here a few nights - it was quite fun. It did rain one day so all the activites got cancelled, but the staff are all very nice and helpful and the food was quite tasty - much better than most buffets I've had. The one improvement I'd make is adding a hot tub for the non-summer time, would have been nice!

Yelp
As a first time visitor to Wickenburg, I was really impressed with my stay at this family owned dude ranch. They had so much to offer: yoga, archery, skeet shooting, horse back riding, a spa, cook out, etc. One thing I noticed and really appreciated was the amount of staff they had working. You could always find someone to assist you, and everyone was so friendly and hospitable. I'm not a country fan per se, but I definitely embraced that side for this weekend getaway at Rancho de Los Caballeros. To top it off, the food was incredible at the main dining area as well as the fine dining restaurant, 19. The mesquite wood fire place constantly burning was a nice cozy touch. We visited on a work retreat, but this ranch is accommodating for couples, families, and all ages. I had a really fantastic time and would like to go again.

Kathleen K.

Yelp
Horrible management! They just don't care. The owners should be ashamed! Get someone that cares to represent your restaurant. Your wait staff is great, hostess rude! Food is okay!

Anna M.

Yelp
This place feels like it crawls with old money. Rustic cowboy retreat. Great onsite restaurant and bar with authentic, friendly staff members. You can catch the horse run in the morning and evening. Large fireplace with the fresh cut wood in lobby. Nice loungin area to chat and hang out. Took a hayride to the bonfire area with an old timer western village backdrop, including ye ole jail house. Equipped with horseshoes and cornhole. Cozy rooms with gas fireplace and same rustic vibes. Fun little getaway within a couple of hours from Phx.

Yelp
Just experienced the Enchanted Getaway. The activities that were advertised were not available/scheduled for the guests, looks like lack of coordination between the marketing team and resort team as most resort staff were not aware of their role in the Enchanted Getaway promotion. The spa was overbooked and could not accommodate us, at all. They did not even offer an alternative activity. The bar staff was not aware of the cocktail hours for the promotion. Our Service at the 19 restaurant was extremely slow, apparently there was a talbe mix up. We attempted to contact a manager on Saturday, but none were on site, as we were told they were at the parade. As far as Enchanted Getaway, we were glad to "Getaway" from there.

Ellen P.

Yelp
We had the most wonderful and delicious dinner at the restaurant. The Trout was absolutely delightful and sat on sumptuous corn and broccolini. Our server Crystal was very attentive. We had a fabulous evening and got to our show at the Webb center with lots of time to spare.

Erin B.

Yelp
What is the point of a concierge is they don't know what's going on and hang up on you??!!! The ranch is going down hill and the customer service is horrible. Don't do any of the wellness classes - instructors won't show and no one at the ranch knows what's going on. The new ownership and management is trash

Karen S.

Yelp
My family had a wonderful time at the ranch! We stayed in connecting Bradshaw suite. The rooms are beautifulLu decorated and have a kitchenette, fireplace and patio. We had the getaway package which included all meals and an activity each day. The food was delicious! Breakfast and lunch are buffet with plenty of options and dinner is sit down with an Al a carte menu. We also attended the cookout, which had great food and fun. The wranglers and horses are amazin with beautiful views on the trails! We also enjoyed the nature hikes, tennis, swimming, and archery. There were always activities to do! They also offer golf (the course is beautiful!), skeet and trap shooting, yoga, axe throwing and team penning.

Rhonda G.

Yelp
A step back in time. It reminds me of a classic western ranch back in the 50's. Everyone is very nice, guests and employees. The views are beautiful. The landscaping with all the flowers is a nice surprise. The food is really really good! We had an all inclusive package. If I were paying though the prices are a bit steep for the quantity of food on the plate. We look forward to returning after renovations this summer. Star loss reasons: The Pool is not heated! If you are closed in the summer when do you think it is warm enough to go in? Room: the rooms are quite roomy with private patio. They are in need of an update. Hopefully the new owners will take care of this.

Hector B.

Yelp
OK. Lunch.... not the most exciting meal. How about a salad? Boring! Not here. I was amazed at my salad and WITHOUT a drink (tea only). Tasty. Amazing and I'm craving it today! Wow!!!! Service was great. Environment was solid as I sat watching golfers practice.

Greg M.

Yelp
This is a gem. The course is challenging. The scenery is unmatched. The staff are welcoming and friendly. Everyone went the extra mile to make sure our day was awesome. This was our first visit, but will not be our last. Thanks for such a wonderful day.

Terry B.

Yelp
The horses, the food, the spa and ranchl...Very good!!! Used to go with my grandsons for years, before they grew up. They loved it too. Horses are great! The boys especially enjoyed chuckwagon dinner night, where we got our boots branded, and they made s'mores out on the campfire

Yelp
I wish I could give this dude ranch a good rating but I can't. We just spent the week at Rancho de los Caballeros for my parents 50th wedding anniversary and we had a group of 38. There was a total lack of communication between the front desk, concierges (yes plural, there was a new one each day) and the wranglers at each of the events which made things frustrating and beyond difficult. There ultimately wasn't anyone to fix our problems or even give a consistent answer. The resort is very poorly managed. I'm not even sure they have a general because we never saw one. The front desk staff isnt even aware the road to the rooms is closed and they give incorrect directions which is how our stay started... Driving around and around with no signs or marked roads and the worst nonfunctional map. Our party was there for 3 nights and they couldn't get our dinner tables figured out for 38 people... not even by the 3rd night which created A LOT of unnecessary family drama. The 3rd night the restaurant manager had the nerve to argue that we had more than 38 until we asked to count the chairs with him so he understood they still hadn't counted right not us. Again, this created so much drama. They also changed our meal accommodations each night with zero explanation. The last night they served inedible baked Alaska for dessert that was completely drowned in straight rum. No one could eat it because it was so foul tasting. I could go on and on with the lack of management and communication from the resort. For the amount of money they charge, they should have this right. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Sub par accommodations with total lack of management is not worth resort prices. They are out of their depth of experience. Don't waste your money here.

Yelp
I spent two nights at Rancho de los Caballeros while attending a meeting onsite. It was a great experience overall. First let's address the elephant in the "room". The rooms are a bit old, but it definitely fits with the whole dude ranch vibe. The room was very clean, bed was comfortable, and the shower worked well. Nothing really to complain about. There were some coyotes howling outside the room one night, but you're out in their territory so it should be expected... We had a prix fixe menu the first night in the restaurant, which was delicious. The croissant bread pudding was to die for! The morning breakfast setup had a huge selection of fruits, oatmeal, sausage, bacon, an omelet bar and more. Lunch included a salad bar, varying hot items, a carving station and a huge dessert bar. The brownies are so good, and I think I ate at least six during my stay. The second night we hopped on the hayride and went to the cookout. They had two campfires and a full spread including hamburgers, chicken, tri tip, potato salad, macaroni and cheese and more! They also had all the fixings for s'mores. Everything was very tasty. I can't say I would have ventured here on my own if it wasn't for this work trip, but I had a great time! The staff was all so nice and hailed from all over the world. I hope to be back again someday!

Sherry K.

Yelp
I have always wanted to go to a Dude ranch! Thanks to Nick and Christina's vision for our team. Every thing was bettered than I could imagine. If you get a chance to go don't hesitate!

Werner R.

Yelp
We spent a long weekend and had great fun. My kids were entertained by the kids club and horse back riding. My wife enjoyed the spa and I got to first time ever try out clay pigeon shooting. The food was great too. Staff was very friendly. We will be back.

S S.

Yelp
This was our second trip to rancho de los Caballeros this season. We were there over Thanksgiving and we returned last weekend withy brother and sister-in-law and 2 kids. I can not express how much we love it here. There are activities for everyone: golf, horses, kids club, country music in the bar, hearty meals, skeet shooting, hiking, and more. Now the ambiance: big blue skies, wide open spaces, vistas full of red rock and cactus, gathering spaces with crackling fires, and friendly faces. The hospitality and customer service is second to none, because the whole staff treats you better than family. They really make you feel as if this ranch is your very own. I can't wait to return! Special thanks to wranglers Tony, Andrea and Issa, dining staff Frank, Ryan, Brett, Kayla, Chelsea, MJ, and at the Golf Club Joe, Paul and Gage.

Julia T.

Yelp
This place was so relaxing and fun! The rooms were clean, but dated a little and probably appropriate for a dude ranch. The staff was very polite and respectful and really hustled!

Joel S.

Yelp
My wife and I visited last month and had a wonderful time. Frankly, we usually stay at Marriott resorts. This was our first experience with a dude ranch. We were blown away. The place is beautiful. The food in the dining room was great. We went for an afternoon horseback ride with a wrangler named Andrea. She was terrific. All of the employees were incredibly happy and attentive. We spoke to quite a few of them and they all said it's a great place to work. It certainly shows in their attitude. I don't have a bad word to say about the place. We'll be back again next year.

Sandra M.

Yelp
This place is a diamond in the rough! Stayed here 4 nights and had an awesome western vacation. Rode horses twice per day and tried team penning and an advanced lope ride. Wrangler Tony and Isa were so kind and the horses are amazing. The nighttime cookouts were a treat. Our room was perfect, comfortable and clean. All the staff was attentive. Had fun meeting the other guests. The property is quaint and well cared for. If you want to ride in a safe and relaxed western atmosphere, this place is it!!

Stacy R.

Yelp
This is a great place for a true western experience!! The only reason I'm giving it three stars is that their website doesn't mention they have summer hours until October! Other than that, you can't go wrong staying or golfing here. Too many experiences to mention, except maybe the horse back riding !!

Megan W.

Yelp
This place was straight out of Arizona heaven! It is absolutely a bucket list - must do! The surroundings, the landscaping, the great room were just wonderful! The food was amazing and the hospitality was second to none. The horses looked happy and healthy. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating. My only regret is that we did not stay longer! We will certainly be back!

Erik M.

Yelp
Awesome resort destination. I have visited many resorts around the world and this was one of the most satisfying vacations me and my family have visited. Enjoyed a relaxing day of golf and horseriding, make sure to visit the main dining room for a 5 star dining experience. Had a pleasure to meet the master chefs in the kitchen and try their new fall menu. It was exceptional, not to mention the well trained front of the house crew that kept me and my wife satisfied, the wine list and desserts were excellent.....bucket list resort!

Pat R.

Yelp
Rancho de los Caballeros is a 19th century dude ranch. I found the property to be quaint, but very well kept. The staff was fabulous and tried to make sure that the guests had everything that they needed. The dining was exceptional. Each night there are different menu items ranging from Seafood to Vegetarian. Breakfast include made to order omelets, a variety of breads and fruits. The only negative thing that I found with the restaurant was the fact that meal times were limited. I missed a couple of meals because I didn't remember the times. The stables are well managed and the livestock well kept. The wranglers try to be knowledgeable about the area's flora and fauna, although most of them are seasonal, moving south after spring and summer in Wyoming, This is a great place to "get away from it all" because there is not internet available in the rooms (except AOL and Earthlink dial-up) and the t.v. is limited to 5 channels. However, for those of us that don't want to be completely out of touch, wifeless is available at the main ranch building. Prices vary depending on the amenities you desire. I had the American Plan, which included 3 meals a day, riding or golf. I felt it was resonable.

Cindy S.

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic resort for horseback riding and golf. Trot, don't walk, to have a wonderful vacation with your family. Children's activities are awesome and head counselor, Holly, is very calm and sweet with all the children. If you want to go on a holiday, book way ahead as very popular times. The meals are all splendid and delicious and the entertainment is just perfect in the saloon!!!

Ann J.

Yelp
I will never come to this place again. My first experience was great, my second has been miserable. The maids have locked out of my room 2 nights running. I thought it was safe enough to just leave the door to my casita unlocked. Apparently, it's not. The wait staff is much more interested in kvetching among themselves than bringing a cup of coffee, or cream at breakfast. It takes 3 or 4 tries to get both, forget asking for water. And the front desk staff, attempted to charge me for horseback rides that were the main feature of the package I chose. I will never, ever, ever repeat the waste of money on this overpriced mess. What a disappointment. If some company is paying your tab, maybe you'll think this place is OK, but for a private individual, I would never recommend it.

Frances H.

Yelp
What a well kept secret! We spent a weekend here and loved every minute. Where do I start...the golf course is beautiful, horses were amazing, spa was magnificent, the atmosphere is so relaxing, our room was cozy, the staff more than accommodating! My daughter even met a movie star, I don't know if she was more mesmerized by her or her horse ride on "Duck" We loved it and are planning another visit soon!

M D.

Yelp
Our family has been here twice (stayed for about a week each time) and *may* return but it would not be my first choice for a vacation. It's not bad but it's not great either. And certain things are downright frustrating. First, my frustrations: 1. What's included and what's not? I challenge anyone to go to their web site and answer that question. In fact, once you buy your package and show up it's not even clear what's included and what's not. 2. Way too many rules. Activity A you can just show up to participate. Activity B you must sign up by 10am. Activity C you must sign up night before. Activity D is only for kids over a certain age. Dining room closes at nth hour and if you are hungry too bad. Wait for next meal. Etc. Etc. Come on, simplify it. It's annoying. And for what they charge you expect better service. 3. The dining room and food. Very average food, really poor service, slow and subpar wine list. 4. Pool is tiny, cold and no place to change when you arrive. 5. Spa is really just a place to get treatments with no sauna's, workout room, steam room, etc. Again, you expect more from a resort of this type. 6. The front desk staff was not that capable. Very nice people but didn't seem to really know what was going on. Some training would be in order here. What I like: 1. Once you conform to their rules and get over the fact you are not at a 5 diamond resort, it's fun. And your kids will likely have a lot of fun if they are age 8+ (under this age there are too many restrictions such as not being able to go on a horse back ride - even if you are experienced and do it at home). 2. Free wireless everywhere. 3. Nature hikes are superb. The guide is amazing. I would return for his services alone. 4. The surrounding country is spectacular in its beauty. 5. Room was nice - bathroom could be updated - but very nice. Caution = make sure you know exactly what you are getting because some rooms are not that big, don't include a fridge or microwave (which you want because of the odd hours of the dining room) and have no patio. 6. Fun horseback rides. 7. Pool table - can be very social setting for adults and kids in the evening. 8. People. The clientele is very nice. Good, friendly and interesting people.

Chris C.

Yelp
An absolutely stunning resort in the middle of the dessert. Lots of great activities: horseback riding, ATV tour (a MUST), etc, and golf.

Mae J.

Yelp
I was just here for a family vacation and this place is so spectacular. The landscaping is gorgeous, the restaurant is accommodating, the staff is professional, and the spa was perfect.

Kate E.

Yelp
When I was little, my parents somehow found "the ranch" (as we've always referred to it). How a dude ranch in AZ hit their radar (back then, we lived in VT), I'll never know, but I'm so happy it did. We went about three times when I was still a whippersnapper, and I remember having the best time ever. I was one of those kids who was intensely mature and hated spending time with large groups of other children, I just wanted to chill with my parents. But I had the best time doing all the kiddie things at the ranch! The best part of any day was always the horseback rides. I have been an equestrian most of my life, but the kiddie rides at the ranch never bored me, they were always fun and exciting. Other fun kid exercises includes crafts, pool time, horseshoes -- it's hard to be bored. My parents and I went back a couple of times once I grew up a bit and didn't have to do kiddie time. The rides were even better -- the ranch is maybe the only place I've ever ridden at recreationally that really listens to you when you say, "no, really, I'm a very experienced rider." The reward? Gallops -- lots of them. There's little else that I love more than a full tilt gallop down a sandy river bed, gripping the horn with one hand and whipping the reins with the other. That alone is worth the trip. Looking for something different? Golf. Spa. Just hang out on the porch. Shoot some pool in the front room. Get lost in front of a fireplace with an old book. The rooms are comfy, the staff is great, the entire vibe is one of laidback fun and escape. The food has gotten better every trip (my mother swears they make the best pie on earth). Everything about the place is amazing. I can't recommend it enough!!

Tracey L.

Yelp
I would have like to have written a review about our stay at the Rancho de los Cabelleros. However, the hotel did not honor our reservation. I made the reservation on their web-site, received confirmation, and was later told that they have "real-time" reservations. However, a reservations agent just called and indicated that she gave our rooms to a "walk in" reservation for one of the nights and that "walk in" reservations take priority over internet reservations. Other than a vapid apology, she offered no recompense -- no offers for a discounted future stay, no offer to put us up in another hotel for that night, zilch! What's worse, we're now out our airfare that is non-refundable. Thank you Rancho Los Caballeros for ruining the first vacation we would have had in a year. And future travelers be warned: If you intend to go to this Rancho Los Cabelleros, please be aware that your reservation may not be honored.

M J.

Yelp
What a charming, quiet ranch! Was here for a professional visit, very impressed with the accommodations & privacy. Rooms have mini-fridges, comfortable beds (and crisp down bedding!), walk in closet, and large, bright bathroom. Rooms are decorated in traditional ranch style and the property itself is very homey.

Joanne H.

Yelp
Fabulous getaway. Great service, amenities, yoga, horse riding, and golf. Going back very soon.

Scott H.

Yelp
Spent five days here on a company trip and loved every minute. Service was top-notch, food was great and we had a blast.

Lindsay C.

Yelp
A long time ago (in a galaxy far, far away LOL) I used to work at Los Cab at the Clubhouse. More recently, I was fortunate enough to be invited to dinner at the Ranch, so this review is a hodge podge of observation and experience. What It Is: a dude ranch resort, in the middle of the Sonoran desert in Wickenburg. Also boasts a championship golf course, spa, tennis courts, swimming pool, bar, lodging, fine dining, horse riding, trap shooting and roping. Who Would Enjoy This: families with younger children, retired couples, golfers. Overall Impression: very well kept, lots of things to do (albeit, it's usually on a schedule), decor is vintage 70s ranch style with some Mexican influence, very private, beautiful and affluent (for a dude ranch). So how was my dinner? GREAT. A lot of people not staying at the resort complain about the price of the pre-fixe menu. I wouldn't complain at all about having to pay $50 for what I got. -For my appetizer, I tried the seared ahi tuna in a wonton taco (with seaweed garnish): the wonton taco was a bit much, too crunchy and bulky, but the ahi tuna and seaweed is a welcome oasis of seafood in the desert. -For my main course, I ordered the seared scallops with tomato lentil dal and braised fennel. I am absolutely thrilled with this dish. The lentils were perfectly cooked-- again, a curried dish in Wickenburg, WHAT?-- and the scallops were also perfectly seared, not raw, not rubbery. The braised fennel was almost the star of the show and I've tried fruitlessly to replicate this at home. -For dessert, I ordered the creme brulee and was only slightly disappointed. They served it cold (as opposed to room temperature or even warmed). But! my disappointment melted away when I bit into the pistachio lace cookie included with the dish. WOW! who thought that up? This dessert pairs perfectly with Frangelico. What I would suggest is this: if you're a young couple looking for a nice evening (or weekend), hit up the saloon and dining room for a fancy dinner and drinks. Maybe even tag along to a campfire cookout. Young families, golfers, and retired couples, go ahead a book your next vacay here and enjoy all that this place has to offer. I'll be back for dinner sometime soon, thoroughly impressed.

Yelp
My company recently used the Rancho as an incentive trip for our outstanding employee awards. We had 14 people from the company and their guests/spouses attend and without exception everyone thought this was one of the best incentive trips we have ever done. There is truly something for everyone. Many people golfed, almost everyone rode the horses, we had a team penning contest and a cowboy olympics event for our group that was a huge hit. The meals were good, rooms were terrific and the staff was friendly. Several people told me that they were going to go back to the rancho with their friends and family in the future. Unfortunately our company does not repeat it's incentive destinations but if we ever decide to repeat...we'll definitely come back to the rancho.

Yelp
Oh my....big name in town...lots of advertising,,,prie fix menu at $50 per person. Filet was grissley, kobe hamburger was a 2 star, in fact, I just changed my stars to ONE. I would never go again...plus the wine was lousy.

Yelp
The trout dinner was over the top and the wine excellent. Service and presentation and food first class. Kudos- will make this a destination.

Yelp
This is my first stay. We have been wanting to visit for many years but it never seemed to coincide with when the resort is open (Oct-Apr). My husband is a golfer and has long looked forward to the raved about course. I decided to spend my time at the spa. Although pleasant and friendly staff, you would expect a resort that commands such high prices to have more amenities. As mentioned by other reviewers, there is no locker room, no hot tub or sauna, and no relaxation room. My massage with Lisa was outstanding but I missed the true "spa experience". It felt unusual to just get dressed in my massage room and walk back to my room. While the main pool is historic and quaint, it doesn't seem like much trouble to add a jacuzzi. It tends to get very cool here as the sun goes down and the warm water would be welcomed. I get the impression, however, that the staff prefer a quieter, more retired crowd. A jacuzzi might encourage more boisterous behavior. They do not appreciate cell phone use here, men must wears coats or vests to dinner, and no jeans. It's a Wild West resort??? Our room was lovely, we had a patio, refrigerator and tea pot. You may want to have snack with you in your room. There really isn't anything available to you after 9:30 pm. With a few simple changes the could really be an outstanding get away.

Yelp
First time at the Ranch and we loved it. Unbelievably beautiful, great service and food. The Wranglers and staff made our daughter's 9th birthday one to remember for us all.

Yelp
The occasion for my second stay at this property was a national photography event at a mining town near Wickenburg April 17-20. As a sponsoring photographer, I booked a suite to house 3 models, 2 of whom were African-American. Saturday evening after dinner and a long day of shooting, everyone was unwinding quietly in the living room. At about 9:30 pm, there was a sharp knock on the door. It was two of Joe Arpiao''s sheriff's deputies; they stated they were there to do a "welfare check" on the females. Management had provided them with a bellman in a golf cart to guide them to the suite. The deputies quickly ascertained everyone was fine and that there was nothing else happening of interest to law enforcement. Instead of just leaving as they should have. the deputies proceeded to demand ID cards from the females as if they were loitering on a street corner. These were taken to their vehicle to be run for warrants and raps. This disclosed the true motive to be to profile the women. Apparently they thought any black woman at a resort could only be a prostitute. They weren't and everyone was clean. This is the kind of thing that happens at cheap no-star motels in the inner city. The clear message was that our party was out of place and unwelcome. The suspicion this was based on race was confirmed by an African-American photographer who had stayed here and was followed to his room. Welcome back to the 1950's.

Yelp
The food was very good, and the staff was very nice, but, it felt more like a senior citizen resort. The dining room was strange, no music playing. It lacked charm that you would expect at a ranch. They should have music playing during all of the meals, it doesn't have to be live; just something. No life around after dinner, everyone goes to bed, they have a bar, but it is empty at 9:30 on a Friday and Saturday night. The horseback rides were boring. You can only walk, and they say you can trot but you really only trot for about 50 feet a few times on a two hour ride. I was told they do team penning on either Friday or Saturday and that is why I went here, but they didn't do it. There isn't a hot tub or Jacuzzi either, not even at the spa. If you are 55 or under, I recommend you try someplace else. I do not plan to return, I will try another place next time.

Yelp
Stayed here for almost 2 weeks. Here are my thoughts: -the staff goes out of their way to spoil you. I am vegan and gluten free and chef Alex made special meals for me every night. - I would steer clear of the AM coffee as it's cold and has barely any caffeine (hoping that the hotel reads this and corrects it). -If you want to walk in the AM, there is really no place but the golf course which is pretty but only available for walks before 8AM. -The gym is THE WORST guy I have been to (that includes Europe where they don't believe in gyms). Really, how hard is it to get rid of carpet that is 15 years old and pain the blocks white instead of turquoise. Since the gym was so gross, I didn't check out the spa. But it's really not a place for ladies I am guessing otherwise, they would have spent the $20K to get decent equipment and make the gym worth visiting especially since there is no place else to go besides the golf course or horeback riding -get a room on the end bc you can hear your neighbors and make sure to get a good view of the desset -overall, I would give it a 6.5 out of 10. They try really hard, but there is an little undercurrent of summer camp feeling about it
