This should have been a 4 1/2 star review but the arrogant little girl who got my pastries tried to prove how great she was by remembering SO many of my selections at once, even though I waited for her to get the first three, before I gave her more to get- and she wouldn't. She insisted on waiting till I gave her more, telling me she would remember, and then forgot the FIRST and most critical one I said, that I was delivering Io my 85 year old Italian mother who lives almost 3 hours from this shop. ( 2 hours from my home and another 45 minutes from my house to here) . It was so simple yet something so special to my mom. She may have done the same to my cookie choices, forgetting another favorite that I asked for, but then it was more crowded and I will give her the benefit of the doubt that it was hard to hear me through the talk case with a mask on. Hey little girl with the glasses, you're not so smart after all if you screw up orders that are impossible to come back for, even though it may not seem like a big deal to you. It was to my mother.
Other than that, my first trip here was just like walking backwards in time, into my childhood in an Italian neighborhood in NYC, full of goodies I haven't seen in decades. Pizza rustica, grain and rice pie so many others... Mom liked the pastries and said they were good and not overly sweet, and I like the prices. Better than a trip to Brooklyn which would've been the alternative. I love the crusty bread and my boyfriend thought his meatball sub was pretty great even though the staff didn't heat up the meatballs very well - it was a crowded day. Sorry Randazzo, we like your food and authenticity but if the girl wasnt arrogant and didn't insisting on waiting for at least six selections before she would go start my box- certainly more selections than she was clearly capable of handling, you wouldn't have this less than stellar review.
