The location is idyllic and staff are friendly. The rooms are clean and well air-conditioned, but lack hot running water - though in 30° heat with 80% humidity, the tepid water is perfect for a shower. Some rooms do lack a safe, but I found valuables could be left unsecured in the room with confidence.
The beds are enormous with very firm mattresses and effective mosquito nets. House-keeping also sprays the rooms each evening while you're out for dinner.
Free Wifi is available, but does not extend beyond the restaurant /bar area.
Meals are ordered a la carte from a limited menu offering mostly fresh fish and seafood accompanied by chips and salad. l found this to be generally of excellent quality and very tasty particularly the fish fingers - fresh tuna steak fried in breadcrumbs - exceptional!
The fruit and veg is washed in mineral water and the salad drizzled/soaked in lime juice giving a zesty, occasionally disinfectant-like taste.
Breakfast is simple but extremely limited, consisting of fresh fruit followed by a choice of toast, (doughie) croissant, (delicious) pancakes, eggs, (fried, boiled or scrambled) or the "Spanish omelette" which is very good albeit a French omelette.
Contrary to many reviews, alcohol is available. Three local lagers, cider and a selection of wines and spirits are available from the restaurant bar. These can be taken away to your room, but not down to the pool area.
Great snorkeling is possible directly from the beach if you have you own gear and know where to look. Just beyond the second buoy, directly in front of the resort are five small bommies where I found morays, lion fish, lobster, seahorses, sea snakes, bat fish, box fish Moorish idols, sweetlips, clams and many other unexpected beauties!
Sadly, many communal facilities have fallen into disrepair, some to the point of being hazardous. A little money reinvested in the resort's upkeep could transform this beautiful place into a tucked away paradise!
