Great vegan food - probably one of the best places in SB! We tried the bowl, chips and guacamole, esquites, limon Y pepino, pina y chia. Everything was well presented and tasted great! The non-alcoholic drinks were extremely refreshing. We found street parking right in front although it can be slightly difficult if it’s a busy day. The staff were friendly and polite. I think they run a tight ship so the service can be slightly slow.

Amazing food! Great service and friendly staff! Must try for vegan or not! Authentic mexican flavors, house made tortillas were off the charts!

We were in town for dinner and had a great experience so we decided to come back the next day for brunch. Everything was great, brunch crunchwrap was the best! Very cozy and cute inside. Will definitely stop by next time we visit SB

SO GOOD! only vegan restaurant in sb and we are so lucky it’s radcals. i love the crunch wrap and have since their pop up location three years back. delicious food whether you are vegan or not — such a gem. amazing atmosphere, quick service, friendly staff, and most of all delicious food! ⭐️

I came to Rascals while visiting Santa Barbara from out of town on a California road trip. This was my favorite restaurant we ate at!!! I’ve been vegan for over 20 years and tried a million different vegan restaurants, and this was one of the best. The portions are generous so you will have leftovers, which is always a plus! The menu is classic yet creative, I had the burrito and it was phenomenal. For dessert we got the rice pudding and churros which were both out of this world!! The owner / chef was also super nice as well, he came over and greeted us and asked us how everything was which is always so sweet. I will definitely be back on our next Santa Barbara trip, and highly highly recommend to any locals - vegan or not, you won’t be disappointed!

So delicious and so nice to have a completely vegan restaurant. The esquites and oyster mushroom tostada were my favorites, and everything was so fresh and vibrant and delicious.

Google
This is one of the only vegan restaurants left in the area which is unfortunate because there used to multiple in SB. I've visited this restaurant several times before, and the food is usually decent. I got there before 7pm on a weekend and it wasn’t busy, I ordered right away. The wait staff seemed to be confused and all of them were running around like chickens with their heads cut off, never checking in on me, I had to wave them down each time. I had to ask for my drinks twice before they were brought out. My appetizer came out first and I began eating. It took over an hour for me to get my other two items. I asked the servers several times and was told “the kitchen is just busy.” People who came after me received their food before me (the same item I had ordered by the way). It was really frustrating. My food eventually came out but at that point it had been so long I wasn’t so hungry anymore. The chicken on my burrito bowl was also heavily seared, hard and inedible. We sent it back but got the same hard chicken the second time. I did talk to the staff and the blonde server was helpful but the whole experience was awful. They ended up comping some of my food, but not much. And they couldn’t figure out how to refund me. They stared at their credit card machine for a while trying to figure it out. The restaurant needs better management and staff that are competent. You shouldn’t have to wait over an hour and a half to get your food. And unfortunately there never seems to be good service here, but this was by far the worst. I’m very disappointed. Order out.

Google
Such flavorful food made with top-quality ingredients—everything is incredibly fresh. The presentation is always beautiful, and the chef is truly talented. You can tell there’s so much love and care put into every dish. I really enjoyed our visit and highly recommend stopping in. I only wish we had a place like this in the NYC area. Already looking forward to our next visit!

Yelp
The pambazo torta. Wow. WOW. WOW! What a glorious torta. How can anything in the world taste better than this? The crunchwrap was really good and well made. Maybe it could've been crunchier. The esquites were okay; they had too much veganaise. And finally, the pineapple chia agua fresca was delicious.

Yelp
I've been here prior to this and remember enjoying my food but this time the service was just not it. It was freezing cold and we were the only couple in the entire place, I had asked the server if we could move in the corner since both doors were open and she said it gets busy.. no one came even after we were done. On top of that, the menu had a mistake. It didn't say the egg and "bacon" comes with pancakes. So when my husband got a small thing of egg and bacon with 2 big pancakes (on top of blueberry pancakes we had already ordered ) we told the server we didn't want the food and they were nice enough to change it for chilaquiles. I liked my food but for some of the items you have to read the description and make sure you're satisfied.

Yelp
Excellent and creative vegan meal with south of the border emphasis. We sat on the patio, which was very nice, with very helpful servers.

Yelp
Best vegan food from our trip to Santa Barbara - everything was delicious! We tried their Esquites which was exquisite with the sprinkle of takis, their Pineapple chia fresca was refreshing with just the right amount of sweet and ofcourse the highly rated crunch wrap which filled two of us comfortably. Highly recommend stopping here for a vegan breakfast too as I hear they rotate their menu for each meal of the day. Can't wait to be back!

Yelp
Love this place! I wish we lived closer. Visited on our way up to Pismo Beach. We last came a year ago. We will definitely be back later this summer. When I came before, I remember getting churros for dessert. I didn't see a dessert menu this time, but maybe that's because we came for lunch. Kids got bean/rice/cheese burrito, cheese quesadilla, and horchata. Husband and I got a bean tostada and chik'n torta. Everything was delicious. Loved the homemade "cheese" on the tostada. Prices were reasonable. Food was fresh and service was quick. Good size servings. We took leftovers. Can't wait to go back next month and I hope they have desserts!

Yelp
How come I just found this restaurant now?! Every dish was so good!! I'm not Vegan but I would totally come back again for healthy food. The waiter was one of the NICEST ppl I've encountered in SB, and just look at the pics -- it's such a cute restaurant!! Love love love

Yelp
Located on Haley street, near downtown, is Rascals Vegan. They serve authentic Mexican vegan fare and the food here is never not vegan. This review is from the perspective of someone who eats vegan and enjoys the cuisine. They serve burritos, tacos, bowls, and tortas with plant based ingredients. I ordered the Crunch wrap which is a popular menu item as I was informed. It had lettuce, pico de gallo, refried beans, soy asada, daiya cheese, and cashew crema. As far as the salsa goes the green is mild, red is mild, and habanero is spicy. I had the green--it was a nice touch. The flour tortillas were made in house and quite tasty. Friendly vibes and very accommodating. They have seating inside and outdoors. Next time I have my eyes on the buffalo cauliflower tacos and the mushroom eggplant adobo tacos. They even serve house made churros, chocolate cupcakes, and rice pudding for dessert. Chef Dalan makes food for all to enjoy. "Taking care of you is your responsibility."#BeGroundedInLove

Yelp
Rascal's Vegan located in an industrial area (off the main street by Downtown Santa Barbara). There's limited street parking so need to loop around a few times which can be a bummer. The venue is a small very place about 8 tables. The friendly staff turns out order pretty quickly. The kitchen is open conceding you have a "window" view into the cook's action. :) The concept is great vegan Mexican but it's more pricey than normal for what it's offered - - I say skip the cheese quesadillas and the kale salad. I was disappointed in both. However, my family did enjoyed the chorizo potato tacos and asada crunch wrap. Unfortunately, unlike most Mexican restaurants, these dishes are al la cart to no rice or beans which mark down one star for me. Overall, the experience was okay.

Yelp
Located in the industrial side of town, Rascals provides Mexican style food a lo vegan. I was hesitant to try but I am glad that I did. We had the guacamole and chips which is perfect for sharing with a group. It tastes so fresh and flavorful and comes with three different flavorful salsas-beware some are spicy! I ordered the burrito bowl with the chorizo and potato. The bowl was filling and full of flavor. It's an additional charge to add the avocado and cheese. The Crunchwrap is huge and enough to share and filing. Agua with piña and chia delicious as well as the agua with pepino. Try the churros! As they come with a strawberry sauce and chocolate dipping sauce. The service was prompt and they answered all our questions that we had on the menu. The restaurant is decorated with plants and lotería posters which makes it a unique ambiance. Be prepared to look for street parking when trying to approach the restaurant.

Yelp
So yummy! It's very hard to find vegan (especially good & vegan) food in Santa Barbara and Rascal's does not disappoint! Everything me and my non-vegan partner had was amazing. The staff were incredibly nice and the interior was very cute, the only trouble might be the parking!

Yelp
Chef Dalan is amazing. And thanks to Chloe the front. Where do I begin? This food is so good. It's my favorite brunch place. The way that sandwich just uses and melts and has the perfect burst of flavor is such a joy. Probably one of the best pancakes. Absolutely fabulous and simple. I'm not sure what is vegan secret is maybe it's apple cider vinegar Would you come for dinner during the week or brunch on the weekends - you are bound to be delighted. My non-vegan friends absolutely love the food, and that says a lot from my Andalusian husband There are some patio tables and there's usually parking on the street or around the corner. The vegan breakfast scramble, brunch bowl whatever it is called is so generous. The servings are big. The vibe is great.

Yelp
Whenever we embark on a new journey to try new places and support mom and pop shops, it's either a hit or miss. Unfortunately this place was a MISS. Where to begin. Clearly it wasn't a good day for us coming here. First, parking was horrible. There were no parking spaces whatsoever for the establishment--so you may get lucky finding street parking. There were none. There was construction all over the place. We had to park way out on the other block and walked just to give this place a shot. The girl that worked there was friendly however they were not able to accommodate us. Nowhere on their menu stated dinner menus Vs lunch menus. We were traveling and drove an hour for this place yet I learned that the menu given to us did not include any tacos. We kindly asked if they were able to accommodate us considering we weren't from town and had traveled far to get here but they refused to make the food we kindly requested. We were really nice about it too but they made no effort to accommodate us. Since we drove far and were hungry we just ordered the elote. It was NOT GOOD. The photos on Yelp is deceptive lol. It was the reason why I wanted to eat here. Unfortunately it was kind of gross. It was not good. It came out so fast so not sure how this was prepared or was probably already premade. I use the same ingredients and can make this better at home. $10 for corn was an absolute robbery. I know it was expensive but I had to try based on the deceiving photos haha. THE CRUSHED TAKIS ON THE ELOTE THEY GAVE US WAS STALE AND OLD. Should have returned it, but we were hungry driving far to get to them. Overall, not satisfied with food or the service. They made no effort to try and help so we figured we were just probably a number to them and we did not matter. We can tell if companies are real business owners or they are just there to for the paycheck. The chef (who was probably the owner) was lazy or did not care. It's unfortunate because we support small businesses had they helped us. Customer retention is vital and word of mouth is important so others know. The place was dead with no customers. They had weird hours too. I suggest customer retention and customer satisfaction esp first time customers to give a good impression and not leave them dry and hanging. Also, indicate on Yelp your MENU HOURS as the menus differ. We wasted our time driving up here eating old stale elote and no available tacos on the menu.

Yelp
Amazing. 10/10. Delicious and authentic vegan Mexican!! I had the Al pastor tacos which are seitan based. The Al pastor marinade tasted very authentic and had a deep flavor profile. I also highly enjoyed trying some of my mom's oyster mushroom tinga tostada. Even if you don't feel like you have room for desert, you should make room for the churros!!! The Mexican chocolate sauce they come with is insane.

Tiera R.

Yelp
Amazing food and both the vegan and two non vegans in the group were very happy and satisfied with dinner. We had a dog with us and were able to hang out in the back outdoor seating and have a great time

Kalisa A.

Yelp
Food is great here and it's so cozy and welcoming inside. Great date night place. Most things are hand made in the kitchen and always fresh

Yelp
We were there on a Tuesday evening around 7.30 pm, and after taking orders, they came back saying that most of the items were not available. So we had to order what was left, and then again, they came back stating that one more item is not available. Terrible service, and we were the only table there. We ordered Asada crunchwrap Burrito bowl Al Pastor Baja Cauliflower tacos Chorizo potato tacos Oatmilk Horchata None of them were tasting good, nor there was any ambiance. I had great expectations..so sad that it was worse.
google avatar

Shelly C.

Yelp
I've eaten here several times with my vegan friend, the food is very good as well as the service. I like the ambiance in the evening, the lights are low and the waitress was super fun and nice. Will definitely make this a regular stop even though I'm not a vegan!
google avatar

Analisa Q.

Yelp
Thank you to the staff for sitting us last minute for brunch! My only suggestion is adding the burrito bowl to the brunch menu :3! Super cute vegan spot in the quaint city of SB

Yelp
Food: we were disappointed in the boring plating of the food. The food was just okay for a meal in what was supposed to be a Mexican vegan restaurant. For price paid I was expecting more. At a minimum chips and salsa served with the entrees. The torta my husband ordered was flavorful but just looked bland on a white plate by itself. My burrito lacked Mexican flavor. Instead of having Mexican rice it had regular rice. And once again it looked boring on a white plate. No garnish at least to make it look appealing. Surprised that everything was ala cart and no complete dinners on the menu. I do not like to be buckled and dimed for every little thing. I am more than willing to pay more for a complete meal. Service: The service was actually good. Our server was very friendly. Ambiance: where do I start? A Mexican restaurant that didn't look like a Mexican restaurant. It looked boring and beige. No pops of color. As I stated earlier the plates are boring white. We were honestly looking to support another vegan restaurant in Santa Barbara because we visit yearly. We had eaten at the previous location a few years back and it was okay. It was a better experience than this time. After the reviews we read we hoped for so much more.
google avatar

Dawn S.

Yelp
Fantastic flavors. Chips and 3 kinds of salsa. Yum. Followed by Asada Crunchwrap. What unique flavors and textures. We ate it all and wiped up the sauce. Wished we had saved room for dessert, alas no room. Brianna, our server was brilliant and helped us with our decisions. She said that this is sadly one of the last all vegan restaurants in SB. Let's patronize this establishment as much as possible. The restaurant is small and outdoor seating is dog friendly; will be adding a review on BringFido as they were truly accommodating to these dog owners that bring their pup every where. We will be back for the brunch this weekend.

Orazio G.

Yelp
Great vegan food and service. I got the breakfast burrito and it was rich, with bold and cohesive tastes, filling, and with a bit of a kick from the spicy sauce it comes with
google avatar

Yelp
I love this place! It's soooo good. Everything about it is great. The music, the decorations, the plates and bowls. And then the food is so flavorful and fresh. And super super filling. Live coming here. Been coming here since they opened and the quality has never wavered.

Yelp
I finally tried Rascals. The inside was really nice. It was somewhat busy because of Fiestas. The food was good. I didn't like the horchata.

Yelp
I was super excited to find a vegan place in SB. This food is deeelish and the staff is super sweet! That torta was huge! Nice portions loved my leftovers when I drove back to L.A. Hope to have a glass of wine there soon

Amy A.

Yelp
Chloe is by the far the sweetest, kindest person! Love her! She goes the extra mile for you and make sure everything is perfect . She makes this restaurant special . Love love love the food and the customer service is beyond amazing . Thank you Chloe for making my night ! Highly recommend and if you get her, you are lucky
google avatar

Yelp
Such a cute spot! Well done, breezy and pleasant inside seating. Love the lemon tahini dressing. Fresh and balanced flavors. You certainly don't have to be vegan to enjoy, but I do wish there were few more choices.
google avatar

Deborah L.

Yelp
Honestly everything here is so tasty. This is not Vegan food like it was only 5 years ago. It is delicious. The "sausage" has great spicy flavor and the bread and cheese, yum. You cannot go wrong here.
google avatar

Margaret I.

Yelp
I'm not vegan and I'm still dreaming about the crunchwrap I had here. Visited on 1/23/24 for a late dinner with a couple of friends. Husband and I shared: - esquites - damn delicious, corn off the cob with crunchy deliciousness, and just the right amount of heat and cream - burrito bowl w/ al pastor - good flavor and texture, overall yummy - crunchwrap - this was so good that I'm trying to figure out the next time I can get down to Santa Barbara to order it again. I'm sorry I shared it, it was soooooo good. Texture was perfectly crispy on the exterior, it was packed with flavor. I cannot say enough good things about it. Go eat at Rascal's, get the crunchwrap and have your mind blown.
google avatar

Nick R.

Yelp
Fucking amazing. The only place I've ever been that 14$ for chips salsa and guacamole was cheap. It was broiling hot *fresh* chips, really good salsa and the most guacamole I've ever received from a restaurant. Amazing. Quick friendly service in a very cool atmosphere. Got tortas both were amazing split and shared. Fries were super good too and chipotle mayo was a nice dip. For some real LA vegan snobs this place way over-delivered. For the area surprisingly affordable and really really well thought out dishes.
google avatar

Tara V.

Yelp
The food was delicious and the atmosphere was amazing! Friendly service and yummy food - we will definitely be back!

Yelp
SO. DAMN. GOOD. You don't have to be vegan to eat vegan food so cut the crap! This place deserves mad respect for real! I love the ever-changing menu of this place... the culinary creativity and flavor are ON POINT. I love their Mexican food, desserts... shoot, anything on their menu. I've been following Rascals (owner Dalan Moreno) for a while now and I just want to give a round of applause for his tenacity and belief in his amazing product. He worked really hard to get where he is! Support small business! Rascals is amazing! Go getcha some!

Madhumitha R.

Yelp
Fantastic vegan food. Their esquites are awesome, and it doesn't feel like your typical healthy vegan joint.
google avatar

Ky L.

Yelp
Went to visit Santa Barbara and came here twice to support vegan entrepreneurs and for some delicious food. For dinner, we came here with some non-vegan friends. Everyone loved their orders. I had a "fork and knife" torta that hit all the right notes. Came back for brunch the next day and enjoyed the French toast, breakfast sandwich, and tofu scramble bowl. If I lived here, I would be spending a lot of time at Rascal's. Oh, the pineapple and chia seed agua Fresca was extremely refreshing. Service was friendly and promptly both times.
google avatar

Karen D.

Yelp
I have been vegan for over a year now and when I travel I'm always searching for the best vegan restaurants. My husband and I have been in Santa Barbara for valentines weekend and this restaurant was highly recommended and they did not disappoint. The menu items offered brunch, lunch and dinner options so we ordered two different items; my husband had the French Toast that was mile high and covered in a delicious strawberry sauce and powdered sugar. I had the crunch wrap that was stuffed with deliciousness and offered with mild, medium and habanero salsas! Every bite was so delicious I shared it with my husband and he agreed with me. The food was so good we stopped at every table to see what everyone else was having lol. We complimented the chef on our way out for such an awesome meal.
google avatar

Julie B.

Yelp
Wow! Incredible flavors & love put into the food! I got the Tostada- a must get - amazing! Then went on to the Impossible Piccadillo Tacos - such incredible smoke flavors - tortilla shells fresh and vibrant. This will be a must stop for me in Santa Barbara. Service was outstanding- Beautiful happy soul waiting on the entire place with a smile and so kind!
google avatar

Eric B.

Yelp
Very small yet cozy restaurant with delicious vegan foods. I can't help but order the same cauliflower tacos everytime but the flavor is just so on point! Be warned though it does come topped with a lot of onions but I love'em. Excellent customer service from super friendly staff. They never let me down!
google avatar

Ella T.

Yelp
The food was so good!!! I'm not vegan myself but I loved it so much that I got it multiple times. The service was a bit slow but it looked like they didn't have a lot of staff so it's understandable. The person was nice though. The place had very cute chill vibes. 10/10 would recommend
google avatar

Trishia K.

Yelp
This place was amazing! Best vegan brunch we've had in a long time. Will definitely be coming back
google avatar

Jenna T.

Yelp
This is one of my Santa Barbara favorites! The only completely vegan restaurant in town, but that is besides the point - the food is delicious. You must try the esquites, the crunch wrap, the bean tostadas, the guacamole. Amazing.

John M.

Yelp
It was our first time visiting Rascal's from Thousand Oaks and it will not be our last. The food was stellar and service was great. Lots of offerinns on the menu to try. if you are a vegan, know someone who is or just want to try some fantastic vegan dishes this place is a must.
google avatar

Cara T.

Yelp
Came back now that Rascals has brunch! Service was fast and food was ready quickly. Got the chilaquiles and tofu scramble. Out of those we would definitely get the breakfast scramble again! Delicious hot sauce and fresh pico. We also got a breakfast sandwich to go which was super affordable ($8)
google avatar

Edmund G.

Yelp
Ordered a bowl with fries and it was delicious. The creamy sauce was just what I wanted. It added a nice consistency and flavor to the rice. I added avocado to my bowl and the avocado was perfect. Fries were cooked perfectly. The staff were very friendly and the place was clean. I got there minutes before closing, but my order was ready and the staff gave me my food with a smile. Cheers to the team.

Yelp
Omg so off the chart good The food the service the music The vibe just put me at ease

Yelp
This place is a rare gem in Santa Barbara. We have only been here for breakfast/brunch. They have wonderfully good vegan food but my favorite is the Crunchwrap, especially the asada Crunchwrap! It's a small place that has several tables inside and a couple tables outside but very quaint. The staff is so friendly and have great suggestions for any meal. My only complaint is they're not closer to where I live!

Alejandra A.

Yelp
The ambiance is beautiful. The service is great. The food is delicious. Wish they had more options like sopita or something to make this a more classic feel, such as chips and salsa or something a little more unique to Santa Barbara. Otherwise it's a lovely restaurant

Lindsay C.

Yelp
This is a cute restaurant with great service and amazing vegan food! I went here for the first time and ordered the esquites, torta, Crunchwrap and churros. The portion sizes were generous. All were delicious and they were able to leave out the cilantro! I would definitely go back to try more of the menu!
google avatar

Daniel D.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place. The food is top notch, the flavor is next level, and the chef is so awesome, puts so much love into this place, and is a food genius!

Yelp
We had Rascal's cater our wedding and it was perfection!! Not everyone was vegan and they couldn't stop raving about how good the food was. Everyone was very kind and easy to work with, very professional and accommodating. The food was set out beautifully and on time. Could not be happier with them. I would choose Rascal's to cater every time.
