Terrible service and very disappointing experience As soon as we entered the Rashleigh Arms in Charlestown, we were met by a group of staff members chatting among themselves, with no one acknowledging us at all. When we asked to see a menu, they simply pointed toward the menus at the bar without any explanation. We were then left standing awkwardly in the middle of the pub, so we assumed it was a case of sitting wherever we liked. After finding a table and fully sitting down, we were then told it was for pre booked tables only and that we had to move to the other side of the pub. No one explained whether it was table service or ordering at the bar, so we sat waiting for around 15 minutes before eventually going up to ask ourselves. We ordered and paid for our food, only for it to arrive with cold chips alongside the mains. Our starter never arrived, and we were later told that it “wasn’t ordered” despite the staff member behind the bar repeating the starter back to us when we placed the order. Although they apologised and claimed they didn’t hear us, there was no offer to compensate for the inconvenience, even though everyone else at the table already had their food. No one came to check how our food was, and the staff seemed far more interested in gossiping behind the bar or chatting with friends, often standing around on their phones. The whole experience felt unprofessional and poorly managed. The food itself was underwhelming.Half cold, half hot and certainly not worth the wait. Overall, terrible service and a very disappointing visit. Avoid at all costs unless you’re happy with Wetherspoons level food 5x the price and absolutely no service.

Had Sunday lunch here. Restaurant was nice, good atmosphere. Food was tasty however temperature of the food was only warm. Had roast beef. For dessert the crumble tart was again tasty but the custard was lukewarm at best. Service was slow, food took ages to come out the kitchen despite it being quiet. Plenty of car parking however the car park surface was cobbled which means less abled people would have a lot of trouble walking safely on it.

We had a really nice meal here. The food was excellent and arrived promptly. The restaurant itself was warm and cosy, and the staff were all very friendly. Seb behind the bar was particularly helpful and made the experience even better.

Recently stayed whilst visiting Cornwall on a business trip. Room was appointed really well. Staff were quick on check in and checkout, always with a smile. Relaxed with drinks in the evening and breakfast in the morning. Great Breakfast Menu and what a location!

The Rashleigh Arms Hotel is a comfortable place to stay. The room we stayed in was spacious and comfortable, particularly the bed! The staff, both house keeping and servers at the restaurant, are professional, friendly and very helpful. The location was near a bus stop which allowed us to visit places nearby. They also have a large parking lot attached. |The restaurant is extremely good. Food was fresh, sustainably sourced, and very well prepared. The mussels, curry, chicken pot pie, soup, Cesar salad and breakfasts were absolutely delicious! Easy to digest! (Important for me.) I would highly recommend both restaurant and Inn. The staff are kind and very helpful!

My favourite local The Rashleigh Arms, Charlestown, was the obvious choice to meet up with dear friends that were visiting Cornwall. The meal was delicious and enjoyed by us all. It was so lovely that my friends were made to feel so welcome by 'all' of the staff team. Special thanks to Becky and Lewis for their superb table service. Would definitely reccomend to others visiting the area.

We had the most amazing Sunday roast at the weekend as well as amazing service. My Dad is blind and the waiter could not do enough to help us. Our dog was very well looked after too! We look forward to returning shortly. Thank you.

What an amazing welcome we had at the Rashleigh Arms, all the staff were great from the housekeepers to Jessica and Andy. The hotel is well located for exploring the area, and the restaurant in the hotel serves amazing food for when you return after a busy day. The rooms are so clean and supplied with all you can need including not only a kettle but a smart coffee machine. I would have no hesitation in booking this hotel in the future and would highly recommend it to friends and family Caryl and Rhys Thomas
