Super cool speakeasy in an underground cellar. This place had the right vibe and played old school jazz music which set the mood. The decor was on point as well. We had two excellent gin cocktails that were packed with flavor and not too sweet. We don't drink whiskey but they said they had over 500 bottles available. Overall, a really cool place for a cocktail.

Great speakeasy in Florence! Love that it is an unmarked door with a doorbell, with their name small. Makes it more authentic. Cocktails were pricey, but good! For the price, I was hoping for a little more to the drinks, such as maybe a design in the egg white foam, or an edible flower added to the drink. The service was great and the staff were so friendly. They had an extensive whiskey list as well.

Super dope speakeasy that genuinely makes you feel like you’re in the 1920s. Need to make reservations if you want to come here. Good music, amazing atmosphere, and top tier cocktails. Some of the things on the menu look interesting but a lot of it comes out great. The rules they have definitely make everyone feel safe and I think that’s the great thing about this place.

An intimate speakeasy in an underground cellar, hidden away from the main streets of Florence. The establishment had a great atmosphere: jazz music playing softly in the background, 1920s inspired decor, and an array of seating designed for couples and groups. The cocktail list was extensive and refined. We opted for a gin and whiskey based cocktail and they were both phenomenal. Overall, a wonderful place for a date night.

Finding Rasputin felt like a little adventure — almost like a secret mission! You have to ring the bell, then someone comes to let you in and leads you downstairs into this hidden gem. The atmosphere is warm, cozy, and just the right amount of fancy. Dim lighting, smooth background music, and incredible smoky cocktails set the mood perfectly. The staff were amazing — they explained the drinks with so much passion and offered great recommendations based on our tastes. Totally recommend this place for a unique and unforgettable night out in Florence!

Beautiful speakeasy in Oltrano. You can walk by but miss the entrance. You need to ring the bell to enter. Bartenders are excellent, and the drink menu is fun.

Rasputin is Florence’s hidden speakeasy – literally. You have to find the unmarked door and ring the bell, which adds to the mystery and charm. Once inside, it’s all candlelight, velvet curtains, and vintage décor. It feels like you’ve stepped into a 1920s film. The cocktail menu is sophisticated and beautifully crafted – I had a smoked bourbon old fashioned that was deep and rich, and my partner’s gin-based creation with lavender was perfectly balanced. Bartenders were dressed the part and extremely knowledgeable. Prices are high (€15–€18 per drink), but the quality and experience make it worthwhile. It’s the perfect place for a quiet, intimate drink. No music blaring, just quiet conversation and clinking glasses. We felt like we’d discovered something truly special. It’s reservation-only, so plan ahead. If you love cocktails and secret spots, this is an absolute must-do in Florence.

Great cocktail experience. Top notch all around. Vibe and cocktails were peak. Accommodating without a reservation. Very knowledgeable, friendly and super innovative. One of our drinks had foam that was the most flavorful foam I've ever had. It was a unique creation involving running it through their cappuccino machine.

Specializing in unique whiskey cocktails, this underground bar is worth a visit. I'm sure it's more popular after dinner, but we made a reservation for pre-dinner cocktails (recommend doing this since it's a small space). It's got dark, vampire den vibes. Servers were super nice. Be sure to read the house rules in the menu to be respectful (like limiting photos). I wish that our seats weren't in such an awkward place (next to shelves of whiskey bottles without a real table or bar), but overall, a unique spot that's a nice escape from the crowds.

Rasputin is the definition of quality over quantity. A bit difficult to find, but last time I was here was 2019 and I'm glad it lived through 2020. Currently, in 2022, the vibe is still the same. Classy and the highest of quality drinks to be made. In comparison to other bars, this is definitely one of the most expensive places to get cocktails in Florence at 20 EU a drink. However, the bartenders here take pride in every drink that come out of the bar. On entering the front door, you must ring a door bell. This definitely tests your patience as it takes more than a few minutes for the busy bartenders to come up the dark stairs to greet you and seat you. I would describe this place more like a dinning cocktail establishment rather than a "bar." You take a seat and relax as they come and get your order. We tried their white negroni, sentimental education, 20,000 leagues under the sea and old fashion. However, these drinks might not be here by the time you come here since they change often and update the cocktail list seasonally. Be patient and come enjoy some of the greatest cocktail created!

An intimate setting with great ambience and great drinks. Therefore, a reservation is a good idea if you are on a tight traveling schedule, but want to guarantee you get the experience. Per recommendation of the other reviews, I sent a message through Facebook to get the location. For better or worse, they just sent the address. No clues to decipher, but it was still hard to find. If you have a reservation, you should plan on adding a little extra to the travel time to ensure you can locate it. It is definitely not the type of place you drop in for a quick drink. The drinks do take time, but they are well worth it. I had a seat at the bar, so I got to see the intensive effort that went into each. Pretty impressive and equally delicious. I had a lovely Scotch cocktail. I am not a Scotch person at all, but yes, I did say lovely. It was extremely smooth. The peatiness of the Scotch was not overwhelming, but also not covered up by the other flavors. My boyfriend is a huge Scotch lover, so if I do see a Scotch cocktail I always try. It is not often you see one, but I have tried a few. This was one was the best I have ever had. The cocktail craftmanship alone got my 5 stars! The decor and the vibe enhanced the experience. If I come back to Florence, I will be sure to come here again.

Great cocktail once I got it. However, after a 30 min wait without having our order taken, watching a drunk bartender drop two drinks he was working on, and seeing the couple next to us being served a chipped glass, I had a sour taste in my mouth. The bartender in question seemed to take his leave after the aforementioned chipped glass round, and my wife and I ordered from another lovely woman working there. We had a classic Negroni, and their off menu house specialty (a riff on an aged white Negroni). Both were delicious, and the atmosphere was beautiful, but at €16-22 a drink it is tough to rationalize such questionable service. Based on the other reviews, it may have been an off night, but be warned that the service is minimally hit or miss.

We went here before the pandemic and it was amazing! I was so happy to see they were still open this last week when we were traveling thru the area I booked a table for us in advance. My experience this time thru was a bit mixed. I'm a bourbon lover and they had several whisky drinks on the menu but most of them were scotch based. Scotch gives me a headache so I had to avoid those the other bourbon drinks sounded a bit too fruity so I thought I'll just stick with a classic manhattan or old fashioned. But I do love seeing what a bartender can do and especially at a great establishment like this I felt like asking if they could put a little twist on a manhattan. I remembered having a black manhattan recently that I loved so I asked if they had an amaro they could use to substitute it for the sweet vermouth or make something like a black manhattan. He agreed and said they had some frenet they could use... I should have stopped him right away at this point. Frenet is not your typical amaro it's bitter full of menthol and either you love it or hate it... I knew I didn't like it but I thought hey these guys know what they're doing let's see what they can do. Sometimes that pays off and I'm pleasantly surprised, this time it didn't... I should have known better and just gone with the standard classic. I didn't want it to ruin my drink experience so I ordered a double poor of their 10yr Whistle Pig... my wife's drink was awesome and she wanted me to be happy so I splurged a little and at least I knew what I was getting. I did enjoy it but the poor was very small, the did measure it and poor it in front of me but it just felt like I was getting jipped... lesson learned I know it's partially my fault but for having paid so much it left me a bit unsatisfied. They knew I didn't like the first drink I wish they'd have offered to fix it. Last time we came pre - pandemic they had served us a small welcome grappa or something and it felt like they were going the extra mile. I'm honestly not sure I'd recommend this place again. But I'm sure most people would be happy there as long as they know they're gonna pay $20 minimum per drink. Don't let them experiment just order from the menu or get a classic. Ambiance is amazing.

If you go, avoid sitting at the bar. The bartender woman was cold, pretentious and just full of dark energy. The other servers were nice and the place has a cool speakeasy vibe.

LOVED this bar. Anyone who has said anything about the rules is being dramatic. The rules literally are just there to preserve the experience (ex: don't walk around the bar clearly to not ruin the ambience, don't use flash for pics of the bar again to not ruin the ambience, etc). The aesthetics were BEAUTIFUL and the music was old jazz that really made you feel like you were in a hidden speakeasy. I felt like I went back in time in the best way. And the real red candles melting as you're drinking was stunning. Everything about this place was perfect, wish I had this place close to home. Also my drink was called "the queen of spades" which seemed like a more sophisticated whiskey sour and it was honestly one of the best drinks I've had in my life. Also drinks are pricey for Italy but if you live anywhere else (Miami, New York, etc) it's about normal.

If you can find it....go here!!! A local took us to this spot and I couldn't be more grateful for finding this spot. It's a speakeasy type, when you walk in there is a crucifix in the lobby and a note indicating to ring the bell. The lobby reminded me of being in grade school and walking into a church, it had an intense smell of frankincense and I loved it. Shortly after ringing the bell we were let inside and led down the stairs. Once inside I felt like I had been morphed into 1920, the music, the vibe, the waiters uniform, down fo the drinks. The drinks were pricey but delicious. The service was the best we have had in Italy. This place is great for a date night or catching up with friends and I LOVED it.

This place may be a little difficult to find but totally worth checking out! The service was great! The bartender asked us what types of liquor / drinks we normally like and he came out with drinks based on that. We all really enjoyed what he brought out (I had a bad drink experience the night before) so I was very pleased with this place from that perspective! The decor in here was also spot on! You could tell they carefully curated everything to truly feel like a speakeasy. You know it's going to be a cool joint when you ring a bell and go through a few doors and curtains. They also have custom toilet paper in the bathroom which I thought was a funny touch. Would def return if I'm ever in florence!

Such a fun experience! The wait staff was super friendly. The drinks were amazing! So glad we stumbled upon this place. If you can find it, I would highly recommend! Love a great cocktail bar!

We send a message on Facebook, eagerly awaiting clues to finding this speakeasy. An hour later we are sent clues, and must use our deductive skills to find its location. We walk along the streets, scrolling though every detail in hopes of finding the entrance. We finally do and get buzzed on in. We walk down and are served with a Negroni. We are given our menus and study the vast variety of drinks. After a few minutes we are served our well crafted drinks and beautifully presented drinks. We sit back in our intimate setting, and enjoy the ambiance, setting us back to Prohibition times. We had a great time and definitely recommend it, if you are looking for something to do away from the crowds.

Speakeasy is nowadays a very well known way of opening fancy pubs around the world recalling those American '30s where alcohol was prohibited and people would gather in secret places for their night fun. This is why all the "new" blind pigs are given a vintagy look: dark wooden forniture, portraits of mysterious characters hanging on pale colored walls, calming low yellow lights, velvet sofas, all framed by elegant dressed and well behaved personnel. The menu features a list of cocktails borrowed from the old 20th c. classics, gin and distillates based, frequent tones of angostura and fresh fruit adds, then 4 signature cocktails on top. They do have available more than 30 different whiskeys yet to be listed and other special liquors in the style of cherry, that can be savoured after a detailed description of their properties and origin. As per tradition, a secret word will be introduced on a later stage and management kindly asks to book a table in advance for the lounge area is small and can get quickly crowded. I really appreciated the cordiality of the staff and their deep knowledge of the things they serve. Now, good luck in finding it!

longest wait I have ever experienced for a drink. I was about to walk out, but waitress apologized and said drinks will be right out. Another 15 minute, because wife wanted to wait, finally came... waiting 45 minutes from sit down to get drinks, embarrassing. I'm embarrassed I stayed long enough to get the drink. slowest service ever. bartender can't mix a cocktail and talk at the same time.

I had a great time at this speakeasy bar. I sat at the bar and the bartender was very cool. We got a round of serviced Negronis. I ordered a dirty martini with Italian vodka and my friend ordered one of their signature cocktails. I remember her drink to be very good with the flowery foam on top. I highly recommend if your looking for a jazzy cool night.

after amazing pizza from Gusta, we walked right behind the place and found this amazing romantic "bar". I hesitate on calling it a bar due to the 1920's gatsby music playing and the AMAZING cocktails crafted to your taste buds. This is a definite spot to check out. *it is downstairs and very dark* ALSO, the bathroom is very clean :)

Took a three attempts and asking two sets of strangers but we finally found this lovely place. Amazing cocktails (I usually don't go for egg whites but wow!) it is a leisurely event so do not expect to be in and out quickly. One bar tender and one floor runner, things took quite a bit of time. Would visit again.

Chill vibe. The bar tenders were very social. The drink was strong for me so I only had 1. I met some cool people while there. I went on a weekday (Monday night) so things were a bit slow.

Great speakeasy. Ring the bell in the little room across from the pizza place. Drinks aren't cheap but the vibe is great.

This place took me about 40 minutes to find but it was well worth the search! The drinks are a little pricier than usual but I promise you, they are so worth it. The staff were very helpful and are able to help you choose a drink or even create a custom one depending on your tastes.

This bar is incredible. We had a very nice experience first by trying to find it, then by getting in and ultimately by enjoying a great service and delicious cocktails at this "secret" but well established place. The atmosphere is unique and makes you feel very comfortable and kind of special at the same time. I have to point out the amazing waitress who gave us specific advice about which cocktail to choose and how they taste. Thank you so much because it made our visit even better.

This place is so amazing and secretive I loved it. I've been their twice and both of the times my experience has been astonishing. The bartender are super sweet and very welcoming. If you are old soul like me and want to experience something different this is the place to go. The drinks are amazing too, what I've heard is that its very 1930s recipes.

Great spot! Loved this hidden speak easy. Bartender and host were awesome. Went on early side so not huge crowd. Had tequila niches de oriente. Loved it.

Awesome atmosphere and so great we were able to find this secret place. I suggest making reservations in advance as it's quite intimate and small. The drinks are so good too!
