RatiLanna Riverside Spa Resort (Chiang Mai, Thailand) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"On the banks of the Ping River, near Chiang Mai’s famous night market — and just across the river from Wiang Kim Kam, the ancient capital of the Lanna kingdom — is the kind of restful, tranquil resort you don’t often find in an urban setting. From within RatiLanna Riverside Spa Resort’s rooms and suites you’ll feel splendidly secluded, and the same goes for the hotel’s spa, whose treatment rooms each pay tribute to a different facet of Thai culture. Mira, the outdoor restaurant, is pure northern Thai in concept, while the Rio Restaurant & Wine Bar is the city’s only Brazilian-style churrascaria." - Tablet Hotels

It's such a lovely resort! The employees are so friendly and professional, the room is luxurious, clean, and ambient. The Spa and Massage are a MUST GO! My girlfriend and I both tried the Massage and Facial treatment. It's so comfortable that we both fell asleep during the process (Oops!) The bar has a special Thai signature collection of cocktails. I love the one I tried, sorry I forgot the name of it. And I love just chilling on the poolside and enjoying the view of the Ping River. The only downside is the breakfast; the variety of dishes is a little bit basic, yet the defects cannot belittle the virtues. If I have the chance to visit Chiang Mai again, I will definitely stay at this resort again. (Cheers)

Visited the pool and gym facilities. Beautiful large clean pool on river bank setting ... excellent poolside service. Nice gym with all major machines. Excellent sauna and steam room with complimentary hot drinks.

Best stay of our honeymoon trip to Thailand. We notified the hotel ahead of time that it was our honeymoon and they accommodated and welcomed us with flowers, cake a bouquet and even upgraded our room. We were blown away with the kindness from the staff, the hotel itself is a hidden oasis, no noise from the outdoors and it feels very private. The pool was very refreshing and needed after a long day of excursions. I also loved the spa, but didn’t get to book anything but it just looked so dreamy. My husband loved the gym area, very clean and well attended. He loved the equipment they had and impressed by the amount of things they had at the gym. Breakfast was a delight, we went on the early side and felt like there was nobody at the hotel but us we ordered food by the pool once and it was delicious and quick! Overall, one of the best stays of my life and I hope to say here again when I’m back. Was truly an incredible experience.

We had a wonderful stay at Ratilanna Riverside Spa Resort. The hotel’s design beautifully blends traditional Thai elegance with modern luxury. The rooms are spacious, tastefully furnished, and extremely comfortable. One of the highlights was the lavish bathroom — complete with a waterfall shower and even a built-in TV, which added a touch of indulgence. The sink drain had some problems and I had to request twice to get it fixed. The location is ideal — just about 10 minutes from the main night markets and city center, yet tucked away enough to feel peaceful and private. The only downside was the breakfast. For a resort of this caliber, the variety was quite limited and repetitive across days. It didn’t quite live up to the expectations of a 5-star experience. That said, everything else — the room, service, ambiance, and riverside charm — made it a memorable stay. The Spa was the best

The rooms are huge. We get an upgrade & check-in early. The hotel has a beautiful garden. We'll equipped gym with Turkish & sauna bath. Also they provide hot drinks like coffee. Ciocolate & cappuccino with biscuits 😋 👌 The pool area is well organized. Clean & sufficient with sunbeds The breakfast is well presented 🎁 the staff are well dressed & helpful. The hotel has sign of aging but the cope up for renovations. The garden is lush. Manicured garden.. the view of the restaurant & buffet area is facing the calm river verry relaxing.. Overall highly recomended. We will be back for sure

Warm service, great food, loved the pool, large rooms. It’s by the river so there’s not that much around the actual hotel (more in the city, which is only about a 10 minute taxi ride). And just an annoyance, but the wifi was very inconsistent. Generally enjoyed our stay and would recommend if you’re looking to unwind away from the city.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 An unforgettable paradise wrapped in kindness We stayed at the Rati Lanna from July 27th to August 2nd, and I’m honestly not sure whether to write this review or keep it secret so no one else finds out about this gem. But here we go… First of all: the pool. Oh, the pool. Saying it’s “beautiful” would be like saying the Mona Lisa is “a decent doodle” or that the Great Wall of China is “a pretty long fence.” It’s a slice of tropical perfection — calm, green, soothing — the sort of place where time stops, and the only thing you hear is the gentle water and your own thoughts melting away. It’s so idyllic you half expect David Attenborough to start narrating your swim. The staff… where do I begin? They are not just friendly; they are the living embodiment of hospitality. Warm smiles, genuine care, and an uncanny ability to make you feel like the most important guest they’ve ever had. They didn’t just make our stay comfortable — they turned it into something truly memorable. If kindness were an Olympic sport, the Rati Lanna team would win gold, silver, and bronze. We had booked a regular room, but to our delight we were upgraded to a suite — a gesture that set the tone for the whole stay. The suite was pure elegance: spacious, serene, and filled with details that made us feel pampered from the moment we walked in. The bathroom alone could host a small wedding reception (and everyone would RSVP “yes” just to see it). As if that weren’t enough, they allowed us a late check-out, which for seasoned travelers is the ultimate luxury. That extra time felt like a secret bonus chapter in a favorite book — you never want it to end. Breakfast was varied and satisfying, and the coffee? Absolute perfection. The kind of coffee that makes you momentarily forget your own name. If I had to make a microscopic suggestion (and I say this only because perfection loves a touch of contrast), perhaps a few more Western-style options could be added. But when you’re sipping that divine coffee by the riverside, honestly, who’s counting croissants? In short: Rati Lanna is more than a hotel — it’s a sanctuary. It’s where luxury meets nature, where every detail feels thoughtful, and where you leave with a heart as full as your camera roll. We arrived as strangers, but left feeling like part of a very happy, very well-rested family. If I could give it six stars, I would. Seven if they add a daily otter parade. 🦦

Ratilanna is a beautiful hotel with a traditional style and 5 star amenities. Unique style and very serene location next to Ping river. Only a short ride from airport but a 15 min ride from Chiang Mai downtown.||We had booked 2 rooms and the staff was very nice to upgrade one of the rooms so that whole family were in adjacent rooms. Loved the decor in the room. Never saw such large bath tub with a TV and a waterfall feature. Exactly like on the hotel website pictures ||The pool is also very large and fun. The hotel grounds are very well kept. The breakfast buffet is delicious and numerous veg and non-veg options. The restaurant overlooks the river with outdoor dining option. It’s a very serene environment in the morning for breakfast. It has a large indoor option with huge glass wall and air conditioning for those who prefer cooler temperature. We had lunch a couple of times there too. The food and drinks are amazing. Even though we ate outside in other restaurants in Chiang Mai, the food here was the best. ||The entire staff during our stay was very friendly and helpful. No exceptions. We enjoyed our stay very much and highly recommend it anyone planning to Chiang Mai. ||The other 5 star options are contemporary style hotels u see in any city.
