Ratna Café in Triplicane is nothing short of a Chennai icon, and after my recent visit, I can see exactly why it has such a legendary reputation. The moment you step inside, you’re greeted with the comforting aroma of freshly prepared sambhar – a fragrance that instantly makes you hungry.
I ordered their famous dosa with sambhar, and it was pure perfection. The dosa was crisp on the outside, soft inside, and served piping hot. But the real star was the sambhar – rich, aromatic, and so flavorful that I found myself asking for extra servings without hesitation. It’s the kind of sambhar you could happily drink like soup!
The service was quick and friendly, and the ambience, though simple, is full of old-world charm that reflects decades of tradition. There’s a sense of history here – like every bite connects you to generations of South Indian culinary excellence.
If you’re in Chennai and haven’t tried Ratna Café’s dosa and sambhar yet, you’re missing out on a timeless classic. This place isn’t just a restaurant – it’s a taste of Chennai’s soul.
