Amazing food and atmosphere! I had the smoked pork knuckle with sauerkraut, potatoes, and beer sauce. The flavour combination was excellent, and I really enjoyed the experience of dining in an old town hall cellar.

Food was great. I had a traditional German dish with roast beef, cabbage, and potato dumpling.

The food and and ambience are great but I want to specifically praise my server Natascha. She was so nice and attentive, speaks perfect English and cares so much about a great customer service experience. I would come again just for that kind of service.

Very relaxed place for both, an evening drink and a family meal. It has a very German feel to it, exactly as someone from the UK would expect. There is a jazzy feel about the place and from the posters dotted around the walls, it's something that it is heavily involved in. The staff are very welcoming and most speak good English so ordering is not a problem. The menu has both German and English descriptions of the food. The menu is small and some of the food is, from at least my point of view, unusual. But I suppose that's the point, to try something that you can't experience at home. The pork knuckle was excellent and it was huge! Parking is available in the streets and there are many close by so we found a space fairly easy.

Excellent food! Service is OK but we asked for a Aperol and it was so strong we couldn’t drink it. The waiter did nothing about jt

The place is really authentic, they were very nice to us. The salad with cheese was amazing and the carpaccio very good too. A little expensive. They charged me €8.5 for a glass of wine. It is worth the visit.

Great spot to refill the tanks after a long walk - but also to simply enjoy the delicious food.

Nice place, food offer and quality. Big portions and price OK. Only problem for me the time table but I'm spaniard and used to other hours to dinner. Great waiters (tress)

Yelp
Good atmosphere, very kind service. I only had drinks and dessert with not very professional German, but the waitress was super kind and helpful.

Yelp
This place just may be the best restaurants on Koepenick, if it wasnt for thier poor and slow service, this would be a fairly good place to eat. it took nearly 55 min to get food upon ordering! and the place was not even busy, this was at 1pm on a Sunday. This place is located almost right next to the Capt Koepenik statue, and close to the castle island as well. It's in the basement, and is nicely themed with a jazz style decor. It was like a Berlin Speak Easy in a sense. I ordered off thier regular menu, but they do have specials that are only written in German - so no luck there. I got the crispy perch which sat on a helping of gherkin potato dill salad. the fish was crisp, and moist but did need a dash of salt, but the potato salad (which was served warm, fyi) was darn good. I'd definitely recommend this dish. 3 people in my group got the vegan ravioli, which according to them, tasted like cardboard with the texture of chewing gum - neither of them are vegan, so perhaps they're not used to vegan food lol.

Yelp
Rustic, cozy restaurant right next to the Koepenick castle serving traditional Berliner dishes at very reasonable prices. Add outdoor seating, friendly service and micro-brews on tap, you can't go wrong. The Ratskeller is a basement under the civil hall complete with wooden tables, stained glass windows and Gothic ceilings. My parents and I came here for dinner midweek and everyone raved at how delicious their food was. My mom went healthy with a garden salad topped with fresh fruit, grilled chicken and raspberry vinaigrette. My dad chose the pork goulash in beer sauce with red cabbage and bread dumplings. The dumplings were fantastic, first steamed then sautéed crispy, awesome, a meal in itself. The BF chose the beef Sauerbraten in red wine sauce, smoky potato mash and red cabbage. The roast was so tender he was able to fork-shred it. Finally, there are three vegetarian dishes on the menu (somewhat non-German but to my delight) but I chose the Koepenicker Doppeldecker, which was 2 crispy potato roesti (hash browns) topped with graved salmon. The salmon was so tender it melted like butter on the tongue. Awesome dish as well. If you'd like to get out of the city center, especially the show-offy and touristy Kurfuerstendamm Area, and eat where the locals eat, this is worth a half hour trip on the S-Bahn. I guarantee it.

Yelp
A traditional German restaurant in an interesting basement location directly next to the city's Rathaus in the old section of Köpenick. The black tiles, arched brick ceilings, and wooden tables make for an enjoyable and pleasant atmosphere. The menu is very traditional, featuring classic meals like pork knuckle. In a modern touch, there are also plenty of options for vegetarians and even vegans. I had the Spätzlepfanne (9,80€) and it was ok - not amazing, not terrible. But accompanied with a nice cup of organic Earl Grey tea, and in the good location, I felt satisfied. There are also a few beers on tap as well as a few more in bottles, as well as an extensive liquor and wine menu. This is a nice place to come if you're visiting Köpenick and would like to sit down to a relaxing and affordable traditionally German meal.

Yelp
Old government building turned restaurant, very old German feel, very good traditional German food and some other. Fairly large dining areas, reasonable prices. Situated in a very nice walkable old town feel area

Yelp
Me and my father was on a daytrip to Köpenick. After a little walk in the town we went to Ratskeller to eat dinner and it was a very nice atmosphere. Good beer, good food and some relaxing jazz music. At the end of the day, a place i recommend.

Yelp
We stopped in for lunch, even at 2 in the afternoon I thought I was stepping into the bar room scene from Inglorious Bastards. Dark and inviting. We had a meat and cheese appetizer plate with fresh bread that was fantastic...with one comment: i will try almost anything once (sometimes twice) but i couldn't bring myself to try the raw chopped pork burger ball. The smoked pork knuckle with accompanying potatoes and veggies was absolutely delicious! Washed down with a couple of tall pilsners and we had exactly what we were looking for...a quintessential german restaurant

Yelp
I visited because of a live music night of Boogie Woogie (yes, I like Boogie Woogie ;)). The place is really amazing, built in the old keller of the building (it's the same historical place of the Burgeramt). The music was great (not too loud but it might be a bit for someone not used to live closed venues..especially since they have acoustic instruments like drums and piano, often times) and the food is typical German. Don't get in here if you are too veggie-vegan oriented, or if you think you'll get a nice tomato spaghetti.
