This place was an absolute delight! Some of the snakes were strikingly beautiful - especially the Albino! I appreciated how some exhibits challenged the old notions of snakes as symbols of evil. The displays were vibrant, and full of surprises, with the Gila monster stealing the show. Scattered fun facts kept the experience lively, and the curator was a joy to chat with. The museum also touches on the curious history of snake oil, with all its claims of healing powers - reminding us that the snake’s place in culture is as complex as it is misunderstood. Truly a must-visit, not just for the reptiles themselves but also for the way the museum explores how snakes have been perceived across history and cultures. A place this good? You could say it really knows how to rattle up some charm 🐍!

This was a really cool museum. I wasn't sure what to expect but it surely surpassed what I had in mind. It had everything my husband was looking for the entire time we've been in TX NM and CO. The snakes are incredible. They had venomous and non venomous snakes. The lizard and tarantula was cool to. The gift shop has all sorts of stuff from shirts and necklaces to shark teeth and arrow heads. So much more. This is definitely worth the trip if you like the outdoors and the wild.

The Rattlesnake Museum is a unique and fascinating stop in Old Town Albuquerque. The Museum displays a large number of live rattlesnakes, as well as other snake, lizards and a few spiders. Signs on most of the tanks inform as to the type of snake, its habitat, and relative danger and/ or venom toxicity. There were also related videos showing throughout the space. Although I don't particularly like to see living things caged, the reptiles and other creatures all looked very well cared for. I thought that the owner has done a really nice job of creating an exhibit that informs and educates the public. We really enjoyed visiting the museum and spent over an hour there.

The owners are phenomenally caring people. The museum is larger than it appears from the outside with so many cool exhibits. There are over 80 total live animals on display including 31 different rattlesnake s.... Amazing! It's reasonably priced, worth the wait, and they even offer school visits. One man we spoke to while there said he's come back every year since he was a child ... I think he said this was his 27th visit! That's a snake lover for you.

Finally snakes!! I have been all over Texas and New Mexico and Colorado and finally someone who had snakes. You would not believe how awesome this place is and a treasure trove if your into snakes. This place was awesome. All different kinds of snakes venomous and some non venomous. Tarantula and lizards. What a combo. Anyone who enjoys outside would enjoy this. Definitely recommend!

The Rattlesnake Museum is such a fun and unique place, especially if you have a child who loves snakes. My child felt very brave being in an environment with so many snakes, and it was a great confidence boost for him. The staff is incredibly friendly, patient, and knowledgeable, and the gift shop has some really nice and interesting items to take home as souvenirs. Highly recommend for a memorable family outing!

Lots of knowledge, lots of memorabilia, and yeah, lots and lots of snakes!! Awesome museum dedicated to rattlesnakes. There are short films and fun facts throughout. And the owner is a very friendly guy with a wealth of knowledge!

I absolutely loved the rattlesnake museum and I will be back. It's a small museum but I still spend a lot of time there and it was not just snakes but the art and history and culture involving snakes as well. Just a cool collection and a tortoise named Georgie who roams the museum. I had a really great time and I recommend it.
