I can't write nothing good about this hotel. Dirty, dusty, old, used down, expensive hotel with poor food. Only you have heating in your room,,I was there in the spring unfortunately and poor workers were working there in big jackets, hats and scarfs to avoid cold up! On corridors there were minus degrees,,I can't imagine how cold in winter,,but anyway terrible place, don't waste Your time and money there!

Extremely dissapointing! I went there last season and everything was way too expensive then it should have. The staff seemed overwhelmed and stressed out. The food tasted like ass and the room was so unconfortable with very cheap furniture and materials while the prices were really high. I would definitelly NOT recommend this place. TOTAL dissapointment.

What a charmed authentic old Norwegian experience. The hotel oozes cozy winter vibes, a decidedly 80s/90s interior which I didn’t mind (too many hotels are overly modern and soulless these days). Everything was tidy, clean and operational including a pool and sauna, a games room, a bar and two comfortable seating lounges. Comfortable clean rooms and extremely friendly service throughout. Obviously the location is perfect for Rauland skiing - you ski directly from the slopes to the hotel entrance, into the warm embrace of the lobby fireplace and sauna.

We stayed here on a Globus bus tour of Norway. I paid more for a single supplement & got the tiniest room ever! The bathroom shower was smaller than one I had on a cruise! My room did not have a kettle for morning coffee so I asked for one and the front desk lazy guy handed me a white plastic kettle with a duct taped crack down the side. I said “are you kidding? That doesn’t look healthy!” He said that was the only one they had available. I said” excuse me can’t you get a good one from an unoccupied room?”(The hotel was NOT full) He said that he couldn’t do that, but finally came up with one since I was throwing a fit & the Tour director “Irv”blew me off when I showed him the kettle (although he kept saying during the tour, if we ever have a problem to let him know) although I’m not sure why we would let him know, if he wouldn’t even help!|Also I asked the lazy front desk guy for another bath towel & he said to come down to the front desk and get it, so I asked him “isn’t that your job?” & he mumbled and said he would bring it to my room. Also my “ghetto” room had a view of the tour bus & car park! Woo hoo! What a letdown of a hotel….take my advice find a better place to stay!!!!

We were part of a tour visiting Telemark/Vemork and stay in this hotel for a day. The lobby had a fireplace and we congregated there in the evening - it felt inviting and encourage socializing. The rooms were spacious and clean. We had to turn on the heater because we are not used to the colder temperature. The view from the room was beautiful. I wished I could have stayed there longer, sitting outside, relaxing, while reading a book. ||Their dinning room was spacious and we enjoyed both breakfast and dinner. We ate Hvit Geitost - a delicious goat's cheese that is typically served in Norway - we continued eating it anywhere it was served. ||Family owned; friendly staff. ||I read some of the reviews that it needs to be updated. In my opinion, it's representative of the location with and added advantage; warm and inviting. I highly recommend it. |

I stayed one night with a tour group and loved this hotel which was a wonderful taste of Norway| The lobby is beautifully decorated with Norwegian antiques. The air is fresh and the food was wonderful for both dinner on arrival and breakfast on departure| Food for both meals offered many Norwegian traditional foods -- all well labeled-- such as sour cream porridge, varieties of fish and pig wings. All delicious!! The beds comfortable and the rooms charming. I highly recommend this hotel for a memorable visit.

We visited Telemark while touring Norway. There are not a lot of places to stay in this area. We stayed here during their offseason. They are mostly a winter sports hotel. We enjoyed our stay. It is rustic and has a lot of local charm. The food in the restaurant was quite good and the room was nice and roomy.

The hotel is located in beautiful surroundings on the edge of the Hardangervidda National Park, on the high mountain plateau. The hotel offers exactly what One would expect from a mountain retreat. It is rustic, but not dated. Great ambiance of a classic mountain hotel. It has all the amenities, fireplace, pool, sauna, good food and outstanding service. We asked about the possibility of watching a movie, and the staff put us in the ''movie screening room.'' The kids loved it! They also loved the bunk bed option in the room.|Notes: |We were able to charge the car, connected to a normal 16A outlet.|The kitchen will try to accommodate vegetarian/vegan if prior notice is given.|
