Ravintola Monte Rosa

We booked the arctic city hotel and the monte rosa restaurant is right on the ground floor so its a no-brainer to eat there :D. The ambiente was really nice, and the food was quite delicious. We wanted to have Finnish cuisine and we got it. I had a tasty salmon soup, with the recommended wine and (of course) the reindeer steak. The steak was cooked as recommended. With also the recommended wine. As a dessert i got the espresso creme brulee. The dessert was sooo good. Everything tasted wonderfull and our waitress (Anna) was really nice. I asked for recommendation on activities in rovaniemi and she sat down and helped us finding some. Also every wine she recommended was also tasty :D. Overall it was really nice, it is a little bit pricey, we spent around 160€ with starter, main course, dessert and drinks. Also if you don't know it, almost everything in finnland is lactose free. So it was like heaven for me.

I dined at Monta Rosa twice recently, and both meals were exceptional. One night, I had the tenderloin with the pumpkin feta side—perfectly cooked, with the side adding a delightful sweet-savory balance. On another night, I tried the Black Angus steak with mashed potatoes, and it was equally outstanding, the steak juicy and flavorful, complemented by creamy, well-seasoned potatoes. Highly recommend both dishes!

Everything was so prefect, from the atmosphere, food, service and attention to detail! I personally feel value for money is great here. We paid €116 converted into £96 for a 2 course meal, a 3 course meal and 2 drinks. The food was absolutely amazing, it was very well seasoned and cooked! I went for the Reindeer pepper steak with mashed potatoes, roasted carrots and pepper sauce, and I must say it was the best Reindeer I have ever had and I have tried it 3 times now whilst in Rovaniemi! The mashed potatoes were so creamy and soft, I also think this was probably the best mashed potato I’ve ever had. My partner had the Beef Steak and chips and even that was cooked to perfection. We was served by the lovely Dan who was very informative with each meal as he ran us through what was on our plates, he was also very accommodating and overall just gave an amazing Service, thank you Dan! I would 100% come back here if I visited Rovaniemi again and I would also recommend everyone to come here if visiting, there is something for everybody on the menu.

Got time and looking forward to a great meal. Look no further than Monterosa. Place was busy when we got there but the host was able to get us a table within a reasonable time. Helps since we were a party of 2 and not larger. Regardless, it was an excellent experience and definitely worth another visit. Which we will definitely do if in the area again. We has the reindeer steak and reindeer shank along with a glass of the recommended wines. Great pairing and great food.

Brilliant steaks and burgers. Had a salmon soup as a starter and a two way steak and both were delicious, the steak was cooked perfectly. The service was excellent and we liked the atmosphere.

Tasty, cozy, well decored, original food but also with some classics, and fast service. Overall we had a good experience and didn’t feel that there was anything really missing. The waiters were nice and speedy with requests. Prices are high but in line with anything in Finland

The restaurant has an amazing interior with an open kitchen space. The food is absolutely fabulous. Kudos to the waitress team for their knowledge about the food and local drinks. The reindeer burger was absolutely delicious.

What an experience!! Everything was amazing, the food and the service. Especially Dan who made it even more memorable with all the recommendations. Tipical Lapland food 👌🏻

We had a fine and decent dinner here and enjoyed our time here. Maybe not the most memorable food, but good local recipes and ingredients.

I went to this restaurant with my dad during our vacations in Rovaniemi, it was around 3pm and most of the restaurant were closed but Monte Rosa was still open even tho their buffet was already closed. We both ordered a local speciality made of reindeer. It took some time to come (but at 3pm I think it's quite normal, or at least it means it's fresh), so they even gave us a small starter to wait. We talked a little with the waiter who was really super nice. The food was great, I appreciated that they helped me choosing something on their menu that was Gluten free without having to chose the whole dish. The location in itself is also really great.

Rude people that work here. Food is overpriced and not cooked that well. I stayed at this hotel and was not impressed. Would not recommend.
