Easily one of the best lunch deals in town. Great salad buffet and good quality warm dishes - served to table! Splendid views on Senaatintori and stylish, classical interiors. All in all, great value for money at lunch time.

Fine dining level lunch restaurant. Excellent food. Quiet dining room. Great view to Senat square. Lunch menu pricing is reasonable. Ala cart full menu available too. Waitress was very friendly and super natural. I can easily recommend this place for lunch and dinner. Good job!

I was at Sunn for lunch on the 25th of December. Considering the location right in front of the Cathedral in Senate Square, the elegant atmosphere, the service attentive but not intrusive, the quality of food, and the abundance of the buffet you would expect to pay more than 55-60€ per person. Noteworthy: the vegetarian main dish was delicious. The only criticism I could make is that the wine included on the menu was nothing special. Overall definitely worth it for a special occasion like the Christmas lunch.

✌Glutenfree Options✌ Three courses delicious fine dining in the historic restaurant with a fantastic view of Helsinki Cathedral. An excellent place for annual get-together to celebrate something, eg 'Svenska Dagen', the Sweden Day in Finland. Alcohol free vines are very much relevant in taste, compared to ordinary wines, and goes well with the various dishes. For interested groups, you can maybe ask someone from the staff to tell you about the interesting history of the house if you wish. Contact them before arrival and in combination with reservations. The portions might look small but are rich in flavours and surprisingly filling. You don't have to go to a hamburger restaurant after dining at restaurant Sunn. In my opinion it can be a little bit chilly and a little bit too dark in the restaurant but that's maybe just me. Anyways, I've been there several times on annual get-together and never been disappointed when it comes to service and food. The staff is neutrally kind, service minded and observant.

Very good brunch with high quality ingredients. Service was superb and atmosphere was nice. Brunch cost 29€ (with orange juice). All cold food, salass, warm food, desserts were very good. Big recommendations!

They say food is better with a view! This restaurant is right in front of Helsinki Cathedral. The overall ambiance and food are excellent. Plush experience and great taste.

I tried Sunn's Salmon soup. One can order it without cream and will be more than fine without additional SALT. Butter cake is also not SO SWEET. Apart from that, nice view and perfect red wine.

Average at best. Had a three course lunch menu. Soup was like water, way too thin and missing jerusalem artichoke taste. The main course came cold. The best part was dessert and even that was just ok. Service was great and as is location and views.

Excellent food, lovely atmosphere. The sautéed reindeer was tender and delicious. Friend had the pumpkins risotto and cleaned her dish. Paired well with recommended wines. From an American's first night in Helsinki.

I saw a YouTube video in the US and knew I was going to Turku and the restaurant looked lovely so I made a reservation. I never expected the food to be wonderful, from the homage cheese to the black pepper ice cream. A meal I will remember. The wait staff was amazing.

I dined at Sunn recently one evening with work colleagues. It's conveniently situated next to Senaatintori ("Senate Square") in the heart of Helsinki. I reckon it has great views over the square towards Tuomiokirkko (the big white church in Helsinki), but the darkness of winter evenings in Finland didn't allow much this visit. We dined upstairs in a private cabinet with a set menu. Lots of Finnish tradition in the food: mushroom soup starter, sautéed fish fillet main (Arctic char?), finishing with a a sorbet (raspberry and pomegranate) and assorted chocolates, berries and nuts. I experienced the proverbial "soup to nuts" at Sunn :) All in all, it was an enjoyable dinner and I think their cabinets are a great venue choice if you're looking for a quiet, intimate setting to host a group dinner. I'd like to visit again during summertime for brunch to get a better seasonal feel.

Sunn restaurant has a delightful view over the cathedral and is is a perfect location to see some of the sights of Helsinki. In all honesty it is hard to quantify the price range in the simple survey, if you are tacking in the brunch option then look to spend 16-18€ per head, and if wanting to start your evening off with nice meal then you will be spending considerably more, starters in the evening range from 8-10€ and a main course can be 28€, and thats before you had a kossu to start you off. What ever your budget allows Sunn is a great choice either way. They make pretty much everthing in house and the quality shows. Its friendly with great service, the only real down side is the flooring?? you'll understand when you go there ;-) If your a tourist in the city hit sunn for a brunch and then enjoy, the city museum, a look at the presidential palace, the cathedral and the old market in the harbour, all are within 5 mins walk!

It was 'crayfish season' in Helsinki and what a place to taste some of these little crustaceans, their 'Rapumenu' was delicious and the staff were kind enough to even show us how to eat them like a pro (as we knew they can be quite messy)!

The brunch was really good and reasonably priced, 21€. The only exception were coffee and tea. Coffee tasted horrible and tea water was not hot enough. You also have to pay extra for juice, which was irritating. The waiters were friendly and attended well to the needs of the customers.

Try the reindeer trio - so yummy! Great whitefish too! The view is pretty over the cathedral. We ended with the chocolate lava cake and weren't disappointed.

Location is super good. We had a nice cabinet just for our group. We had vappu (1st May celebration) dinner here, the service was a bit slow but friendly. The predefined menu offered good options and the food was good quality.

This was a very nice place. The chef is very accommodating to food allergies. She came to are table to discuss are needs and made sure the dishes did not contain gluten. I had the cod on a bed of vegetables. Ordered an app reindeer w/beets. Overall nice place with good food and service. With a good view of the square.
