Bars and Nightlife in Berlin

"If you’re in Friedrichshain and unsure of where to go, head to this semi-derelict former train repair station. It’s been turned into an “urban culture” complex with a skate hall, outdoor pool, climbing wall, street-art gallery with a beer garden, pop-up restaurants, and flea markets. It also hosts a slew of late-night bars and clubs like Astra, Suicide Circus, Cassiopeia and Crack Bellmar." - MATADOR_NETWORK

Very very interesting place. Not for the faint-hearted if you are alone and are not from Berlin 😅 Berlin knows how to party, and this place is no different. You have some crazy nightclubs, and you have some very relaxed pubs where you can drink beer with one hand and the other hand tattooed at the same time 😅. All upto you :) Get your reservation/tickets for the more crazy ones. You can't walkin to these places.

An odd place with lots of areas for food, drink and shopping. We found an amazing climbing area and a small skate park. An electro disco is also here, which in itself is an experience.

Great venue with always something different to offer. Colorful and dark, perfect for an early night out before you hit the clubs. The muaic is usually alternative, but fun. Take your friends out and enjoy a cool and relaxed night. Take photos - there are some great angles:)

Very typical Berlin! We parked at the East side Mall and walked along the skate hall,… The historic Xmas market is really cute. Tasty food and mulled wine plus a fun fire show on a Tuesday night just a little queue to get inside and not crowded.

The Christmas market was enjoyable with a good selection of things to buy and eat. It was cosy to eat by the fires and hear the many Christmas acts. Having been to other Christmas markets in the U.K. recently, I’d consider this to be reasonably priced. It was strange however that they charged €3 entry and €1 to use the toilet. I have not been to another Christmas market in Berlin where this was the case.

Raw Gelände in Berlin is a popular spot for photographers, known for its urban, gritty aesthetic. This former industrial site has been transformed into a vibrant cultural hub, with graffiti-covered walls, old warehouses, and street art creating a unique backdrop for photos. The mix of urban decay and creativity makes it an ideal location for capturing Berlin's alternative scene. Whether you're looking for striking portraits or edgy architectural shots, Raw Gelände offers endless opportunities for compelling photography. It’s a must-visit for anyone interested in urban exploration and creative photography in Berlin. Pictures taken between 2019-2022

On a market Sunday, RAW is a great place to go rummaging for second hand goods, especially clothes and jewellery. Compared to British vintage markets, everything is a bargain. One great thing to focus on was leather and suede jackets, which were in better condition that UK markets such as Shoreditch as well as being less than a third of the price. There’s a growing number of coffee shops and restaurants also opening in the area which provided a welcome drink in a brief rain shower.

I went to the Sunday Flohmarkt and was not disappointed. There are a lot of stalls, mostly selling vintage/secondhand clothing. But there were also food vendors and a lot of artists selling their work, which was great. Expect to spend at least an hour there to really get a vibe. (If you’re thinking of going to the teledisko there I wouldn’t suggest it on Sundays, as some of the booths were blocking it completely. Also one of the teledisko booths that was supposed to be there wasn’t when I went. The photo booths however were available and both worked when I went. (One gave black and white photos and the other gave color photos.)
