Great creative cocktails, all of them inspired by different aspects of Mexican culture. The music is also great! Service is top notch, and the few food options are perfectly sorted and pair well with the drinks. Paula, the head bartender, is an amazing person to have a chat with! We liked it so much that we came back for a drink on our last night at CDMX.

Background Rayo Cocktail Bar is nestled within the same historic mansion that houses the celebrated restaurant Fónico. It is on the 2024 edition of The World’s 50 Best Bars.  Ambience Guests enter through a discreet door on a quiet street, then ascend an old elevator or a striking grand staircase to a dimly lit lounge. The central bar acts as the heart of the space, providing a dramatic focal point for the evening. The descent down the grand staircase offers a memorable exit. Service Service at Rayo is attentive and refined. Bartenders speak English and offer detailed explanations of the cocktails’ ingredients and their mythology.  Food/Drink Drinks weave together local spirits, creative infusions and theatrical presentation. offerings  The bar offers small plates designed to complement drinks. While we only sampled the panela popcorn, it was addictive, salty, crunchy and perfectly paired with cocktails. Full dishes, including tacos and other modern Mexican-style plates, populate the menu, though we didn’t have room after a heavy meal at Fonico. Overall Rayo Cocktail Bar is a standout destination for cocktails, ambience and design. It is an ideal spot to begin or end an evening

Great cocktails, truly unique. They greet you at the door and bring you up an elevator while telling you the back story of the place. We ordered some of the older cocktails at the back of the menu and they were amazing. The bartenders were friendly and spoke English. We went early so it wasn’t busy yet.

We went to Rayo last night (Monday) and had a wonderful time. Eric and Aldo made us incredible cocktails and talked to us about the details for each one we ordered. The music was perfect. We have already told all our friends to visit. We went to handshake the night before and had a better time at Rayo. I also love how mindful they are about allergy restrictions. Can’t wait to come back!

The bars atmosphere is chic, and still definitely deserving of the top 50 best bar title. Drinks are innovative, and service can be personalized if you're not afraid to speak out they will do things right. My favorite drink is here. The pulque cracker is bussin 🤤

We went to this bar. We were there when they opened it up at 6:00 p.m. there's four of us, the service was fantastic. The drinks were reasonably priced and out of bounds... The drinks were crazy and flavorful and weird combinations of so much fun.. then we get to the food. That's off to the chef of management with coming up with these combinations. Their appetizer sized but when they hit the table almost emotional if the flavors with the food and the drink combinations

Experience overall is 5 stars! The complimentary drink on the elevator ride is a nice tough. The drinks were incredible and very creative. Each one was unique and delicious. Service was great and they even came around and gave us popcorn to snack on. This is my favorite cocktail spot besides Handshake.
