Reach to Teach has helped me enormously - not only in finding a great job, but making sure that I had numerous schools to pick from and that the one I ended up at was the best possible match. Moreover, they kept in touch with me to truly ensure I had all the help I could get with housing, my work permit, and all my government documents/requirements. I love working at Yu Tsai Bilingual as a 6th grade teacher in Taipei, where I teach Math, PE, Art, English, Music & more! It’s an incredible job at a phenomenal school. Working with Reach to Teach almost feels too good to be true! They helped me find a teaching position in Taiwan so quickly and the school has been amazing to work with thus far. I really can’t thank them enough. If you want to avoid dodgy cram schools, Reach to Teach is the way to go since they vet all the schools they match recruits with. After working with the school I was matched with for almost a month so far, I already know I’m in better hands than if I’d gone with one of the bigger cram school companies with a lot of horror stories.. Carrie and Haley with Reach to Teach were super personable to work with. In my first chat with Haley, she gave me a bunch of tips and red flags to look out for with picking a school, in case I didn’t go with a school paired with me through Reach to Teach. Carrie provided me with multiple school options so it didn’t feel like I was forced to go with any particular school. But I can say the school I went with has been so welcoming and supportive. I’ve never taught before, so jumping into this job whilst also navigating living in a new country has definitely been anxiety inducing, but my coworkers assuring me they understand that this is all new to me and that It’ll take me some time to get into the role has made me feel a lot better. It also helps that they’ve provided me with three weeks of training, coteaching and observing classes as opposed to the one week of training I’ve seen some other schools provide.. but that’s all to say that I couldn’t be more grateful for Reach to Teach for making this transition so easy for me!!

Reach to teach was very helpful in my process of applying to EPIK. John delivered everything to me in small easy steps, and provided very detailed instructions (as certain documents are a little complicated to do/fill out). He helped prepare me for interviews and what to expect when coming to South Korea. He called to check in on me regularly, and smoothed out any issues I had with the application process. Overall, my experience with Reach to Teach was very pleasant and I definitely would recommend them to anyone who is interested in teaching in South Korea!

My experience with Reach to Teach was mainly positive. Carrie assisted me throughout the process step-by-step. It really made everything easier, especially considering how complicated it is to enter Taiwan at the moment due to COVID.
