Real de Minas

We've been there a few times, and always find it enjoyable. The food is good, the portions are just right, and the staff is great. The place is usually frequented by people of Latino descent, so it feels very Mexican, even if the food is Mexican-American. If you are lucky enough to go on a night when they have live mariachi music, you'll love it even more. I feel like my money is well-spent there.

We have dined in the restaurant twice now and ordered to go a few times. I will say it has been a toss up on the food and service between all of them. This last time my husband got the Real De Minas Chimi. It came without the cream cheese sauce on top and we had to ask for it to smother the chimi. Literally half of the chicken inside was completely bland, with absolutely no flavor at all and the other half of the chimi the chicken was seasoned well. Not sure how that can happen, but it did. Everything also came out fresh, hot and delicious. The service was spotty once some other tables came in but we get people get busy. The drinks were delicious as well. We got a few margaritas with flavors added. Overall I would say this place is pretty solid. Worth checking out.

Plenty of parking. Good customer service. Plenty of sitting and enjoyable ambience. We ordered shrimp tacos and carnitas fries. The food was fresh and delicious. I'm craving some more right now. Complimentary chips and salsa. We will be back for more in the future.

Mexican music during broncos football,so loud I couldn't hear the end of my table,and my woman got mad at me for asking to see the manager,,,,pissed off! They will not see me again! Mediocre food ,service is sad,

Today, October 20, 2024, two us dined at Real De Minas Near Iliff & 225. We have been going there for years. We both ordered Crispy Chicken Chile Rellenos at $16.75 each according to the menu. When presented with the check, we were being charges $20.25 for each meal. When we questioned this, they said the menus were old and this was the new price and there was nothing that could be done. I asked why the menus had not been reprinted and received no response. They also tried to charge us for an extra drink we did not order or receive. They did remove the drink from the bill. When asked to speak to a manager, the young lady said there was no manager in. I refused to sign the merchant copy and I am disputing the charge with my bankcard company. WE WILL NEVER RETURN! if you plan to dine there be wary of their pricing!!!

I love the food at Real de Minas. I also think they have good margs. They serve Modelo on tap nice and cold too. Enchiladas, Tamales ans smothered buffets from here are good

Always a good meal here. My favorite so far is the pollo pablano dish. Very good service for such a big group (15 of us). A few dishes were incorrect but i believe that was because of language barrier and took a long time to get the checks. Understandably so since we were all on separate checks.

I have been here before but I am not sure I will return. This was the worst service I have ever had here. We were seated and waited over 10 minutes and no one even came to take a drink order. Others seated after us had their drinks. Multiple wait staff walked past us, looked at us and kept on walking. I finally just got up and left. I understand places are short staffed but to be ignored and not even having a waiter or waitress come over after walking past us and looking at us is not acceptable.

I go to Real de Minas all the time, but never this location. They couldn't get anything right on the order. Save yourself the headache and go to another location or to Ajuua. Food tasted fine but actually getting what you order is a task. This place had hardly any cars outside and now I know why. Will never come back here.

The food & service has always been on point! Serving size per price is also great. We have been coming here for over 2 years. Oh and did I mention every time we visit it smells soooo good. I always have a hard time deciding what to order but end up going with the health serving of the ceviche! When I have room I also get the fried Ice cream!!!! Come check this place out. You will not be disappointed!

Ready for some truth? The food was really delicious and generous portions. The server was polite and attentive, but she did not know the menu for breakfast items very well. Why does that matter, you ask? Some dingaling ordered nice new menus but NOWHERE on the menu are the breakfast items!! Really. How the heck are we supposed to know what they offer? Oh, right, ask the server who tries to remember some of the regular items at Mexican restaurants. If you know such items, good for you. But if you don't regularly have such items, it's quite annoying. Hey manager, here's an idea; order separate little menus just for breakfast. Problem solved!! Too many of the servers (most all) had their phones out and we could see the obsessed texting and not paying attention to customers who needed water refills, salsa refills or just some actual customer service attention. I cannot understand how this is allowed by the management or the owners. I've been to this restaurant previously, and enjoyed the food and drink very much. I believe the biggest problem with this restaurant is how it is run. The cleanliness was not the best in the tables, booth seats and on the window beside me which had splatters of salsa and a bunch of dried up rice pieces. Bring the customer service up several notches and perform better cleaning of the place and this place will totally ROCK!!! Until then.....Idk.

Do not go to the Cornerstar location. This has been a favorite for a quick meal. Been patronizing the establishment for years. Went recently and service was abominable. Spouse received his meal immediately. Nothing was said about my meal. 15-20 minutes later, we asked our server for my meal. She brought out the wrong food. I asked for the correct meal. Awhile later it showed up. No apology and no explanation. Water and tea were not refilled. We asked to speak with the manager. The manager at the podium was in our sight line, was told we'd like a word and removed himself from the dining area. As in he ran away. We paid cash and walked out. Prices and time being what they are, this was an enormously disrespectful way of treating customers. We will never return.

First time ordering and eating there, was greeted very nicely. Ordered takeout. Ordered there new chalupa chicken was very appealing when I got it home. Tasteful ( little stingy on rice, beans ) . Price was just a bit high but acceptable with todays market for things . Also ordered churros for dessert was excited to eat after a tasteful meal. But to my surprise COLD.. which is why only gave 3 stars or the place would have gotten 5. Disappointed I mean how can one mess up such a simple dessert and forget to serve them heated ! The drizzle with chocolate was nice. But once again when I bit in was hard a rock and cold what a disappointment after a good experience with meal !

I am definitely disappointed with this place. I saw the menu before hand and had my selection but remembered, usually Mexican food disappointed because it is not home made. It lacks flavor. So anyways, the service wasn't the greatest. The waitress rarely came over to check on us, i saw no one get a drink refill but that's ok because the soda is served in a huge cup. There is no way anyone should be drinking two cups of soda at that place. The chips and salsa were okay. I ordered a steak torta. I've had better. The bread we ok, no beans, some avocado and lettuce, and the steak was not cut. It was just thrown on the bread, i guess it's for looks but eating it, you had to rip the steak. Not good, i didn't even bother to try my wife's food as we usually share. It wasn't one of those "hey, you have to try this" type meal. As for the restaurant looks, it was ok okay. I did not like the in house band (another reason why I avoid Mexican sit down), you can hardly hear each other. If I wanted to go to the Stampede for music I would of gone to the Stampede. I'm trying to have a quiet meal. Overall, there's better at other places. Wont return.

I have had up and down experiences at the different locations, I've been to this particular location twice and I'm usually satisfied. The food always comes out quickly and it's consistently good. My complaint on my most recent visit was our waitress. After bringing our food, she never came to check on us. Never offered refills, never made sure that we didn't need anything else. If we needed her for anything else, we had to wait to get her attention and call her over. There was a guy dining alone at a table across from us and she was fully engaged in him. At one point I seen her sitting down with other staff members seeming that they were taking pictures. She was the only negative thing about my visit on Friday, but it was enough to ruin the visit. Back to the food, everything was good!!

Food was very good. A very fun and interesting menu! Staff was friendly and attentive. Music was a bit loud for me.

I can see why this restaurant only has 2 1/2 stars out of 5 . My family and I were visiting from CA , last weekend and decided to go eat there. They sat us down pretty fast so that was a plus . The waitress was ok , but a smile would be nice from her to us she looked annoyed, she only checked on us twice .. SHE also didnt know what a High Chair was , when we asked for one . Anyways I asked for the enchiladas de camaron in green sauce, they came to me and told me they didnt have camarones for them.. so i said ok then asada is fine. They brought me ground beef, so i told her this wasn't Asada and she said thats their asada at the restaurant. I dont like to make a big deal just because I used to work at a Mexican restaurant also but come on. I expect more from that place. I might give it another try since the atmosphere was good. ..

This is my go-to place for work lunches. The food is always perfect and the service is friendly and laid back. I highly recommend. Excellent!

Do not go to this restaurant they steel your money!!! The waitress pocked $140 from us, called 2 weeks straight to get my money back and finally when the owner got back to me he didn't do anything to resolve the issue and tried to blame me for it and it looks like they do this frequently, just saw a few google reviews that the waitress tried to over charge someone $100! I've been going to this restaurant for years after new management this place has gone down so much, the food was mediocre and the ambiance is not as it use to be, if you want good food and not get stole from do not come to this place, NOT WORTH IT!!!!!

hi, im from EP texas and i wanted to share my experience , everything was good but we were asking questions about the food while ordering and the waitress would give ugly looks, they took almost an hour to give us our food but serving other people when we were the first ones to get there , we order menudo and for the time they took for it to give it to us it wasn't hot as we expected, while we were in the restaurant someone robbed us, we asked if we could get any help or help us by looking in the cameras, they said yes but they took a long timeeeee and after they "checked" they told us the cameras weren't working, we were upset and stress but didn't do any problems, just be careful and be aware if you go to eat to this restaurant! Also people around there were telling us it was a dangerous area!

I'm upgrading this by another star because the margarita was better this time, and they have this coleslaw type of salsa that was pretty tasty. Service is still great and responsive, and the camarones de coctel had a lot of shrimp.

Brought my family back Today and was disappointed the food didn't taste like yesterday so safe to say not consistent. Oh well !! Chubbys is still our place for now !

We had a very pleasant evening enjoying some steak fajitas. Service was good and the food was delicious. Prices are very affordable for the large portion sizes. The restaurant was busy Friday evening, masks required. We'll definitely come back.

It was so damn loud in there I couldnt hear myself think. The music was exceptionally loud. Would not recommend. Maybe for takeout. But not for dine in.

This was within walking distance of my hotel and sounded good. They were extremely friendly and it was a nice atmosphere. They are at the end of a small strip of storefronts. The chips seemed like they needed salt or something. They left a lot of room for improvement. The salsa was very good and had a nice heat to it. I ordered the Mexican Steak. This was good and I enjoyed it. The steak was cooked well and tender. The sauce was flavorful. I used the chips to clean up the sauce. It was a heavier meal that I went there for but it sounded good on the menu so I went for it. Unfortunately, I put chips/salsa heavy on my point list. The chips knocked this back from a 4 to a 3.

We were seated expeditiously, the service was amazing, salsa was delicious, food was also delicious. The music was great there was a love band playing. Overall great experience will definitely be going back we loved it!

I had heard good things about this place so decided to try it for lunch. Big mistake. I ordered one cheese enchilada and one chicken enchilada with jalapeño cream sauce. Two cheese enchiladas came out with the cheese not melted in the middles. Sauce was barely lukewarm. Waitress didn't come to check on how my food was so I had to flag down another server to let them know my order was wrong. By this time everything was cold. When I pointed out the error, the waitress didn't take my plate to fix it but brought me two chicken enchiladas on a separate plate, so then I still had cold rice and beans. The new plate of enchiladas was swimming in chicken broth and the scant amount of jalapeño sauce was lukewarm and breaking apart. I stopped eating and took the food to go, hoping I could turn into something edible when I got home. The salsa had a strong taste of black pepper... not good. Skip this one and go to Taco Bell instead

Our server was very beautiful and really nice! I liked the vibe of the restaurant it's very pretty inside and the shrimp tacos were really good. So were the fries and chicken tenders that my son ordered and my mom said the chimichanga was great

Beautiful atmosphere and good food for a great price. The service was on point! Our server Lizbeth was wonderful with her suggestions and bright personality. On the night that we came there was even a live band! Super fun. This is NOT a quiet sit down dinner, come for a fun time with loud music! We had a great time!

Good service and good food in one place. If you're looking for some good salsa this place definitely has some authentic flavors. Definitely a nice atmosphere.

This was my wife and I's first time to visit this restaurant. We actually never heard of it before today, but saw it and thought we'd give it a try for lunch today. The location is convenient, there was ample parking, the outside of the building looked interesting enough, and the inside of the restaurant was also interesting. We were greeted by several Mexican looking people, promptly seated, a waitress waited on us for beverages right away, though another waitress had to come over because the first waitress couldn't understand English well enough, the menu was well done and had many food choices (though my wife and I both felt like the food was over-priced), our burrito supreme was a large portion and my wife and I split it, the table was not clean, the men's and women's restrooms were gross, and the plate the waitress gave my wife was dirty! Yuck!

Went here for dinner. Service was great, server was great and food was delicious. I went to the bathroom. 3 employees were in the womens bathroom, one male in there doing cocaine in the bathroom stall.. i stood inside the bathroom just waiting and all I heard sniffing and they were talking in Spanish... I mean I know it's late, but geez really?

Order nachos Togo..they made my mother sick to her stomach. We have been going the 44th & Peoria since it open up there and the food was good but the last few times the food has been bad so won't be going back

We have frequently stopped into this place for a bite of Mexican cuisine. We wouldn't be coming back if the food was not good. In fortunately, this last bist will probably be just that. The waitress could not get the order right. I ordered a Mexican hamburger snd she brought me a burrito. She replaced it with the Mexican hamburger and the hamburger was burnt. I asked for a smothered burrito which was ok. My wife ordered a ground beef taco and a shredded beef burrito. She was not pleased with the taco due to the quality of the shell. Did not get ant refills on either of our drinks. When we got the bill the Mexican hamburger was what they charged me for not the burrito that I ate. The management of this restaurant is nonexistent. The outside of the building is unkept, signs that were posted quite some time ago are tattered and hanging down. There are three lights mounted on the front of the building and one of them has been hanging off for over three years now. If they are not concerned with the looks if the building then that just leaves the food quality suspect. Not coming back again and do not recommend this place any more. The only reason I gave one star is because there was not a negative one.

I have tried and tried to like this place. It feels they don't want me there. Today we waited 20 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us once seated. I went to hostess station to ask if we even have a server. She ended up taking our drink and food order. Waited another 10 minutes for the drinks to arrive, we could see them sitting at the bar waiting to be delivered. I was happy the hostess took it on herself to get the job done, kudos to her. I have been to ALL the Real de Minas restaurants because the food is so good. But this time, I will not be back to this location. It was nice to be able to take the margaritas in a to go cup. I guess she really wanted me outta there. Other tables seemed to have fine service with normal wait staff.

Vegetarians- this spot is for us! Lots of veggie options including vegetarian green chile!! Oh how I've missed having my chile rellenos smothered in green chile, this place filled that need. Also lots of other veggie versions of all the traditional standards. Taco salad was huge and piled high with veggies, rellenos are very good, chips and salsa fresh and delicious. A good restaurant for anyone who loves American style Mexican food.

Best Mexican food! Wow. This place is incredible. I love love love micheladas and they usually make them amazing. They have a fantastic lunch menu and on tuesday's they do tacos for $1. They are able to cater to me by subbing pinto meat with black beans to get away from the meat products.

I had several good experience at the cornerstar location and decided to try this one since i was closer. We got here around 6 and the parking lot was empty and was bit concerned. Joe's crab shack or.... We got seated immediately and waitress came immediately and took our drink order. Chips and salsas and bean dip came out very quickly also. Very good. Loved fresh taste of chips and salsa. When the drinks came, she took the order and everthing was going ok. When we ate most of the chips and salsa, another waitress brought out 2nd batch. Very very good. Our food was taking lot longer than anticipated. When the table behind us (sat after us) got their food 1st, we are like... "what the ..." and thats when our food arrived. Apparently, our waitress was busy somewhere else and our food was sitting around. It was still hot and tasty and no complaints . One of the order was missing one item. Should pointed out but we were already quite full from eating all that chips. We also ordered sopapias but it was kinda like flat bread... not the kind that had center all raised up. Tasted quite doughy and flavorless. Actually, dough flavor. Haha Tried to fix our bill with the waitress and noticed that other table had to return two plates due to some type of problem... ours was good..no complaint..just short of one item. After few minutes of back and forth, management was able to take off $ missing item. Food.. ok. Service... ok.. could have checked on us more often but she was too busy.. I will definetely prefer the cornerstar location for future Mexcian food craving.

I had a great meal and generous cocktail. The steak and shrimp Stephanie recommended was really good. The cup of green chili was also terrific. Good food. Fair price. Great service.

This has been our go-to Mexican restaurant in Aurora, but no more. We came in later on a Saturday after going to Zoolights. Ordering was not a problem but my wife's meal did not arrive until 15-20 min after the rest of the table was served. Halfway through the meal the music was turned up to a deafening volume. You could not hold a conversation at the table and I had to nearly yell to be heard by the server. We asked politely for the music to be turned down a little. The staff REFUSED: It was Karaoke night. The quality of the food was irrelevant at that point. We left as soon as possible. The music was clearly audible through the closed doors and walls. I guess it was more important to entertain the other 10 people in the restaurant than to care about our comfort. Will not be going back.

Stumbled upon this place while staying close by. Tried their Carne Asada plate, I was surprised by the good flavored it had. Their chips and salsa complimented the meal great! Would definitely come back to try something else.

After hearing the adds during Nuggets broadcast on 950am my wife and I gave this place a try and must say we are very impressed. Great food, fajitas are my favorite, great service, friendly atmosphere. These will keep me coming back for many years to come!

First of all the price rating listed with this Restaraunt needs to change from a single dollar sign to two if not three. For Mexican food the price on quite a few things were expensive in my opinion. The service was prompt and everyone very nice, however my sons kids meal quesadilla was hard as a rock and our Sierra Mist was nothing but carbonated water. The drinks were not replaced and the. We were charged $10.00 for 4 sodas. Everything else we had was pretty good. The oysters rellenos were delicious. Back to the price, my family of five eats out often, I have never spent $100.00 at a single $ rated Restaraunt until tonight. And then the gratuity was automatically added to my bill. We were not in a combined party. Two adults, three children = auto gratuity? Wow. Someone change the rating. This is not an inexpensive place to eat.

On the way to dinner and decided to skip the salad place for Mexican food. This place was busy when we got there. I ordered a Jalapeno Margarita and my other half bourbon and coke. Let me tell you I've had a margarita like this before,infused but they've barely had a flavor, this one is HOT and had plentry of jalapeno pieces in it. Whew! It did take quite some time to get them to the table. We were told first time bartender. I ordered the cheese enchilada plate with black beans. I like the variety since I grew up with pinto beans/refried. These are topped with Mexican cheese and Mexican crema. They tasted pretty good, not like if some of the other places we've tried. My plate came out with refried (with bacon fat) so I had to ask for black beans again. The people here are nice and try hard to please you, so after another try they brought them out. The crema made it a bit sweet with the spicy sauce of the enchilada. My other half had rice with enchilada sauce since currently what he's able to eat due dental work. Now, my guy is game to return when his dental work is completed.

Love all the locations but the music is always so loud you can't hear the person sitting next to you. Everyone is yelling to be heard over the music. The food never fails to be delicious no complaints there.

I live in Phoenix and we have some great Mexican food. I've been all over Mexico and tasted the true food of the country. This restaurant beats everything I've ever had. Service was amazing and speaking with my server, I mentioned how much I love Chihuahua, Mexico and she told me that her and most of the staff were from there. No wonder the food and warmth were so incredible. Had dinner there last night and going back tonight. Join me if you want a true Mexican treat.

Really had a great time here. The food was great from the salsa to the chimichangas. Liz our server was awsome!! **ask to have Liz as your server you won't be sorry!
