A monastery founded by Felipe III, one of the kings of the Austria dynasty. There are 10 nuns still living in the place. The religious works of art inside the monastery are very impressive also do not miss the room with the relics.

This monasterio is right next to where I live. Internal looks like a monasterio and if you want a formal visit, you would need to book a 1-hour tour. The only thing I want to talk about is the tour guide. I kind of feel that he has done this hundreds of times to the point that he sounds rather monotonous and lack of interaction. I mean, I would get bored myself if I would need to say the same thing hundreds of time. So, if you are sleepy and didn’t take a siesta, don’t do this tour. Do it after you have enough rest. Pretty amazing that there are many nuns living here who have consecrated themselves to not see the world forever and devoted their entire life in the enclosed monasterio without a ‘hi’ to the outside world.

What a wonderful place filled with works of art, paintings, relics and steeped in sacred history. The church is lavish and the tour guide was awesome. Really worth the visit!

Excellent. Surprising. It's incredible how such an austere place can be so beautiful.

This is truly another hidden gem of Madrid. I don’t know how they are kept so well hidden. The artworks alone are magnificent. The finale of relics and the chapel are just wonderful.

While the tour is not given in English, it is worth the visit for non-Spanish speakers that enjoy biblical history and appreciating sculptures and paintings. It is worth mentioning that unlike most museums you will not be allowed to wander around on your own. The tour is given by a docent and offered to groups of 8-7 people at a time, taking about an hour and a half to see everything. The docent was very knowledgable and was willing answer any questions we had after explaining what was in each room and the significance of each object. Overall a very enjoyable visit.

From outside it looks pretty, but besides one statue and walls that are decorated it's nothing there.
