On the Grid : Central District Cyclery

"Central District Cyclery tells us they're the only Kona brand vendor within a 50 mile radius. If you don't know, that's a big deal. Oh, and check out the side of the building for the quirky art murals left by the last resident of the building." - Extra Credit Projects

Spinful Bike is great! Nate is super friendly and fair and provides excellent service and a quick turnaround time. He got my Scott mtb back on the trail and I’m loving it. Definitely the place to go for all your mountain bike needs!

Super nice and helpful staff. Bought my son a bike and we couldn't be happier with the service. They went over an above to make it happen and stayed late to get it set up.

Edit: Spinful is no longer in business Nate and Matt at Spinful are very helpful. From putting together a Kona Honzo for me to servicing both of my bikes, they are the local mountain bike experts. No Lycra Larry’s at this shop. Was also pleased to find out they stocked shoes specific for mountain biking. I bought a pair of Crankbrothers shoes and it was nice to be able to try them on before purchasing. Thanks guys, see you for the next bike soon

We had an amazing experience with Rebel Bike Shop! We were blessed with a free bike from Facebook Marketplace but weren't sure what it might need. Newton got us right in to take a look, gave us an honest appraisal and installed some fun accessories. My son is so pleased not to have a "kids" bike anymore and I found our new go-to bike shop. I haven't been impressed with the service or mechanics at other shops in GR and am grateful to have found Rebel!! Thank you!!!

As a fat person wanting to get into the sport, I was ignored at other local shops and just above gave up ... until I found Rebel. From the moment I walked in the door, I was greeted kindly and felt welcomed. Newton had seemingly endless patience helping me to not only to get on a bike for the first time in years, but to then try out several and find the perfect one. All in 90+ temps! They also ordered the bike rack I wanted, assembled/installed/showed me how to use it. My husband came in and also experienced exceptional service. We will never go anywhere else and are obsessed with our new bikes and it all started here!

We were so happy with the tune-up for one bike, that we brought in another bike when we went to pick up the first bike. They were VERY prompt, reasonably priced, friendly, and helpful. Both bikes are riding great. We will be back again, I'm sure. The bike shop is on two bus lines, which makes it easy to ride a bike in, drop it off, then take the bus home.

My preferred bike shop in town. Excellent knowledge, fantastic bikes, a no BS approach to sales, and fantastic service. This is a small shop on Plainfield ave. You won’t be dazzled with flashy signs, Tour de France race talks, absurd discussions into the depths of power to weight rations, nor will you find unaffordable road bikes that will gather dust in your garage that cost a 401k plan and a half. What you will get. A very good knowledge base of the bicycles on hand and what they offer. You will find excellent, reliable, affordable mountain and gravel bikes. You will find all the info you need from the staff on local mountain bike trails, including which bike is best for them and your riding style. You will get top notch service, that is judgement free. You will get a no hassle/no hidden fees sales approach when you buy a bike. Some places are intimidating to shop at when you are new to the sport, Central District Cyclery is not. Repeat customer here, and will back for my next bike.

One of the kids ran a flat about 3 blocks from Central District Cyclery. Turned out we needed more than just a patch or repair. The folks at Central District did a great job getting us back on the road! I've got a few other bikes that need work, so I'll be making friends with these guys this summer! 🚲
