Recess

Such a great selection, prices, and delightful staff!!! I was amazed of everything there. This store met my expectations and more. It was a big bonus to see I was supporting a local store. I am not from Calgary so using the map, it was tricky to find Recess. Upon walking on the street, I couldn’t see it until I found the promo poster for the Back to School sale. Just wanted to give that as a heads up for fellow travellers. Will highly recommend it and will return next time I return!

i love this store so much. it is a stationary fanatic’s dream come true, the kind of place that will inspire you to stop procrastinating and start writing like a maniac so you can get some more awesome notebooks, pens etc. they have so many quirky hobby related items, organizational tools, and pens/pencils for all budgets and uses. i love that they have something for every budget, it’s so easy to find a cool pen or some other writing or crafting implement to fall in love with here. I’ve stopped by every time I’ve been in Calgary over the last few years and always left inspired to create.

Wow, do I love this store. It's THE place for the stationery-obsessed, an artists haven, and for people that know the importance of 'good writing/pen-feel'. The staff are knowledgeable, kind, and ever friendly. What a lovely place to treat myself, haha!

All the cute stuff are here. Best place to grab any notebook, journal, pen and pencil or even envelopes, cards and stickers!!! Ended up spending over $50 here it was truly worth it! I feel like most of goods here from Japan which even more trustworthy, love the vibes here. Will definitely come back for another stationary haul!! Recommend for anyone who’s into journaling, writing or drawing or even want to start any beginner steps? This is the place you should visit first!

Great little stationary store! went in and checked out a huge selection of fountain pens and walked away with a TWSBI demonstrator pen! Big recommendation if you're looking to grab some niche pen stuff. Huge variety of stuff you done see elsewhere in town.

Love love love it in here! Endless stationary supplies in every shape, size, colour and texture. Pens, pencils, notebooks, paints, stickers, cards and postcards, desk organization accessories and more! The staff are always so friendly and helpful. Thank you!

Haven't had the chance to visit in person but if I am in Calgary I certainly will. I ordered from them online and the staff were so helpful and excellent. Would definitely order from them again!

This store is a fantasy come true! So many papers and pens and stickers and tape. Bought a few treasures and they all are top quality. Highly recommend coming in and checking this place out.

Amazing selection. My wife used to bug me about my "paper problem". Once she stepped inside she totally understands. Now I have to watch what she's buying. Great selection of Japanese products including art supplies.

In this digital age, I still love office supplies! In particular, I enjoy lined paper, hard covered spiral notebooks, folders to contain loose sheets, and maybe a pen or pencil to keep them company. Recess (located in the Inglewood District) is such a place. Recess has one of those selections that there's so much variety to choose that you loose track of time trying to decide. Whether I actually needed some of this (behind my current holdings) was irrelevant. The only downside were regrets of what I might have left behind.
