Neighborhoods in Buenos Aires

"La Recoleta is the posh, “old money” neighborhood of Buenos Aires and it shows in the grand architecture and chic boutiques. If you’re fond of tea houses, you’ll get your fill here, but we suggest that those in search of something a little stronger check out some of the hip bars in the area. The top sight in this barrio is its ornate cemetery, so take a few hours to wander and check out the fancy tombstones. The craft market in Plaza Francia during the weekends is also a sight to see. If it’s one of the best bookstores in the world that you want to visit, go to the stunning Ateneo Grand Splendid — you’ll never order anything off Amazon again after seeing it." - MATADOR_NETWORK

Yelp
This fashionable, upscale neighborhood is lined with cafes, boutiques and galleries and morphs into a street fair on weekends. Recoleta is a strollable, affluent area known for Paris-style townhouses, lavish former palaces and posh boutiques. When we walked out of the Recoleta Cemetery, where national icons like Eva Perone rest in extravagant tombs. when we walked out of the cemetery the large with popular name brands was directly to the right. I guess if we forgot to pack something for our trip this would've been the place to stop. The neighboring Recoleta Cultural Center offers cutting-edge temporary shows. Grassy Plaza Francia hosts a weekend handicrafts market.

Yelp
Just popped in to say that there's a lovely view of the Recoleta Cemetery from the third floor food court, where there's a modest outdoor terrace that serves as a seating area for the Mostaza burger establishment. The place is air-conditioned and has what you might expect in an upscale-ish mall. Bathrooms: On every floor! Great place to get away from rain or heat and use the facilities.

Yelp
Decent mall. I was staying in the area and walked over here a couple of times to people watch, catch a cab, and get something to eat. It is an ok mall. It felt cramped to me. It does not feel open and airy like other malls. It has plenty of quick stop restaurants, coffee shops, and snack shops if you just want a bite and are to lazy to check out other local shops. Bathrooms are clean and the airconditioning inside is nice when it gets warm outside. In the evening time, it gets busy out front. I notice a lot of delivery guys hanging out front in the evening between runs.

Yelp
During a brief visit to Buenos Aires, I was in need of an outfit for my journey to Brazil. Recoleta was the closets mall to me so, my travel buddies and I went over. Its a decent sized mall with something for everyone - sportswear, toys, fashion trends, and even house goods. Being from the U.S., I had not heard of a lot of the brands in the mall but they had some good things and at affordable prices. Unfortunately, I did not buy anything but my friends did. There is also a small food court on the top level. Its not an amazing mall, but its worth visiting. If you are from the UK or U.S., don't walk into this mall expecting to be amazed. Keep an open mind and window shop.

Yelp
I agree with Julie N. and her review of Recoleta Mall. Modern and clean place yet lacking interest save if you are shopping for those particular merchant locations. A handful of the same chain stores located worldwide. Of no particular interest to a tourist. Air conditioned yet not as cool as other malls in Recoleta area. Eateries are fast casual and very limited in scope. Skip this mall unless you are on a mission to a particular store located here.

Yelp
This shopping mall is so well-located it's hard to dislike it despite its shortcomings. Right in front of Recoleta Cemetery, it offers a good option for when the weather turns against you or when you just want to do some window shopping (because of the exorbitant prices, of course) before heading out again. It's generally quiet for a Buenos Aires mall, probably due to its location near tourist attractions, but it gets crowded whenever a movie ends and people feel like stalling before heading home. The gastronomic choices aren't great, to be perfectly honest, so I'd recommend settling for a coffee and a pastry before heading out and finding a proper restaurant. All in all, it's a good shopping mall to spend some time in between other activities.

Yelp
On my second visit to Buenos Aires my friend and I stayed near the Recoleta cemetery in the same district of Buenos Aires where this shopping mall is located. We went twice to the mall to do some shopping. There were a few nice argentine clothing boutiques and I purchased a few very nice shirts at one of them. There are nice cafes to sip coffee at and the place is quite clean. For a large shopping mall however there were surprisingly few choices in terms of local merchandise to be purchased. There were also many United states-based stores such as Timberlands and other chain clothing stores similar to that. Those were quite overpriced in comparison to their U.S. counterparts. Another slightly negative aspect was the music played loudly and continually throughout the entire Mall is overlapping and disparate in a way that makes it quite jarring... a mixture of Latin, pop, and something resembling 1960s psycadelic music from several separate sources. After a while the noise from the various music sources began to give me a headache and I realized that it was designed to keep people moving about the mall and hopefully purchasing merchandise. It did not have that effect on me however and I found myself soon wanting to leave the premises which I did. All in all I would recommend a visit to the mall but my own experience there is not of the caliber that I would describe as a five star level event.

Yelp
Apparently this is Recoleta's a designer mall. There were lots of shops that were unique to SA. I felt the price points were appropriate for the quality of merchandize. There were a couple of stores with cheaply made accessories and clothing. The fashion doesn't compare to LA or NYC standards (not that I'm a pro on that subject either). I was less than impressed with the selection in this mall. However, the facilities and structure of the mall was a great use if space and very clean! And honestly, three McDonalds in one mall?! Come on.

Yelp
Clean but boring mall close to Recoleta cemetery. A shop for sports wear, high end bags and local designers. Very pricey and not many options for males.

Yelp
Very good mall, it's nice and clean and easily accessible inside. You won't seee your high end American brands but then again who's here to for American brands. Def worth checking out
